If you are raising money for charity, use a platform charity fundraiser instead: a tip paid to you and donated later is not the same as a charitable donation.
First decide who should receive the payment
Use a creator tip page when viewers are supporting you and the money is paid to you through a payment provider. Use a charity fundraising feature when viewers should donate to an organization. Twitch says money given to a streamer through donations, subscriptions, Bits, or similar tools and later passed on by the streamer is not considered a charitable donation or tax deductible. Twitch’s charitable donations guidance explains the distinction.
Set up credit-card tips with Streamlabs
- Create or sign in to your Streamlabs account and open the dashboard.
- Go to Settings > Donation Settings > Methods, choose a payment provider available to your account, and follow its connection flow. Streamlabs documents this dashboard route in its credit-card donations setup guide.
- For credit-card tipping on a Streamlabs tip page, connect a PayPal Business account in tip settings, as required by Streamlabs’ dedicated credit-card tipping instructions.
- Find the tip-page URL in the dashboard and add it somewhere viewers can reach it: for example, a channel panel, stream description, or another visible channel area. Streamlabs’ quick guide to setting up tipping recommends sharing the generated page link.
- If the settings are available to your account, set the minimum and suggested amounts, currency, and page details.
- Before promoting the page, open it as a viewer and check that it displays the intended payment options, currency, and destination. Also review the connected payment account’s current receipt and display-name settings; a configured name alone should not be treated as a guarantee of privacy.
Streamlabs’ quick guide, published in May 2026, recommends PayPal Business to help keep a creator’s real name and personal information hidden from viewers. Check PayPal’s own current account settings rather than assuming that the tip-page setup controls what appears on receipts.
Check card availability and processing fees
Streamlabs’ Stripe Tipping FAQs list card tipping availability for Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The FAQ says creators in unsupported countries need another payment option, such as PayPal. Your account’s setup screen is the practical check for current availability.

The same FAQ states a standard processing fee of 2.9% + US$0.30 and notes that actual fees vary according to the countries of the streamer and donor. Treat that as Streamlabs’ stated standard, not a guaranteed rate for every transaction; check the current terms shown for your account and payment provider. Streamlabs says it takes no cut and that creators pay payment processing fees in its credit-card donations article.
For charity, use a charity fundraiser
Twitch Charity
Twitch’s Charity tool is designed for donations to the charity rather than tips first paid to the streamer. Twitch says viewers can donate by card or PayPal, and a fundraiser surfaces a Donate to Charity button. Twitch also says it does not take a cut of donations. Streamlabs Charity
Streamlabs’ charity setup article describes creating a charity account, selecting a registered charity, building a campaign with a title, description, date, and goal, then publishing and sharing its campaign tip page. It also describes linking the campaign to a Streamlabs account for charity alerts. Streamlabs says its goal is to send 100% of each donation to the charity; that is the platform’s stated goal, not an independent audit finding. Its article reports more than $70 million raised through the platform, but does not establish a year for that figure.
YouTube Giving
YouTube Giving can place a Donate button in live chat for eligible campaigns. YouTube’s YouTube Giving FAQs say the beneficiary must be a US-registered 501(c)(3) public charity and that YouTube covers credit-card transaction fees for Live Chat Donations. Eligibility rules can change, so verify the current requirements for both the channel and nonprofit before announcing a fundraiser.

These tools put payment links and buttons in different places and have different geographic and eligibility rules. Do not assume every viewer can pay by card without an account; the available checkout depends on the selected provider and the viewer’s location.
