You can run a 24/7 Punjabi songs broadcast through OBS by creating a YouTube Live stream, entering its stream URL and key in OBS, building a scene with music and visuals you have permission to use, and testing the encoder before going live. The two make-or-break issues are sustained local power and internet—and music rights: YouTube scans live streams for copyrighted material, and a license may not prevent interruption unless the rights holder also allowlists your channel.

Before you start: verify the channel and clear the music

Check live-stream access

Verify your YouTube channel and confirm it has no live-streaming restriction from the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until launch day. YouTube’s encoder guide explains the eligibility and setup process: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.

Get permission for every song and recording

A Punjabi song can involve rights in both the musical composition and the specific sound recording. Before streaming, document permission for each of them, covering YouTube live streaming, the territories you intend to reach, continuous use, and any monetization you plan. A song being popular, publicly listed, personally purchased, or available on a music service does not establish those permissions.

YouTube says live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content. If it detects a match, it may replace the stream with a placeholder; if the content remains, or the channel receives a copyright or Community Guidelines strike, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. Even with a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Confirm that process with the rights holder before you go live. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Prepare cleared visuals and playback

Use an OBS media source or another playback method supported by your current OBS version and operating system. The exact playlist-loop controls vary with setup; test your playback method for several cycles before relying on it unattended. Confirm that both the music and any static or animated visual assets are cleared for the intended use. Check that OBS captures the right audio source and that desktop alerts or other system sounds will not enter the broadcast.

Create the YouTube broadcast and connect OBS

  1. Create the event: In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live, then create or schedule a stream. Set its title, description, visibility, and other stream options. Scheduling lets you share the event in advance. YouTube documents the controls in Manage live stream settings.
  2. Copy the connection details: In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key for the event. Treat the key like a password: do not show or publish it. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room.
  3. Enter the details in OBS: Open OBS’s stream settings, select YouTube as the service if available, and enter the event’s stream key. If you use a custom server option, use the stream URL supplied by YouTube along with the key. OBS labels can change by version, so confirm the current fields in your installed release.
  4. Build and check the scene: Add the authorized music playback source and a cleared visual. Watch the OBS audio meters while music plays and check that the scene shows the intended content. Keep the stream key out of the scene and away from screen captures.

Choose OBS encoder settings for a stable stream

Use a profile that your computer can encode continuously and your internet connection can upload with headroom. YouTube’s current encoder guidance recommends RTMP or RTMPS delivery, H.264 video, constant bitrate (CBR), and a two-second keyframe interval that must not exceed four seconds. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery. For audio, use AAC or MP3; its recommended stereo audio bitrate is 128 Kbps. See YouTube’s encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.

Output profile YouTube H.264 bitrate recommendation
720p at 30 fps 8 Mbps
720p at 60 fps 8 Mbps
1080p at 30 fps 14 Mbps
1080p at 60 fps 17 Mbps

These are YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations, not a guarantee that your connection or computer can sustain the profile. YouTube recommends upload capacity with 20% room beyond the stream bitrate. For example, a stream using 8 Mbps needs at least 9.6 Mbps of stable upload capacity under that headroom guidance. A mostly static music visual may not benefit from a higher frame rate, but do not lower the bitrate on that assumption without testing actual output.

  • Video codec: H.264.
  • Rate control: CBR.
  • Keyframe interval: 2 seconds; do not exceed 4 seconds.
  • Audio: AAC or MP3; 128 Kbps for stereo is YouTube’s recommendation.
  • Protocol: RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted delivery.

Test the stream before leaving it running

  1. Play representative Punjabi tracks and any motion or transitions you expect to use. Check that OBS meters respond and the audio is clean.
  2. Start the encoder and inspect the Live Control Room preview before making the event public or announcing it. Confirm that the right scene, image, and audio are reaching YouTube.
  3. Check Live Control Room’s stream health and messages. If you see dropped frames or instability, lower the output profile or address the network or encoding bottleneck, then test again.
  4. Keep upload capacity available beyond the stream bitrate; other devices using the same connection can consume the headroom.
  5. If you need a local recording, verify that the recording file is growing and has adequate disk space. YouTube advises checking local archive files during encoder operation; a local copy is useful but is not a substitute for checking the live stream.

YouTube’s practical guidance covers testing, preview, monitoring, and upload capacity in encoder settings and its streaming tips.

Plan for continuous operation and replay limits

A local OBS stream depends on the computer, power, software, and internet connection staying available. Use a wired network where practical, disable sleep settings that would stop encoding, and arrange a way to notice stream-health alerts and recover after an interruption. A UPS sized for the connected computer and router can bridge some power interruptions; it cannot fix an internet outage or software failure. That is a practical continuity measure, not a YouTube requirement.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Its guidance does not establish that one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast will be archived as a single replay. If you need replays, plan operating periods within the documented archive window and verify the current Live Control Room behavior rather than relying on a 24-hour archive.

Troubleshooting common problems

  • YouTube does not show the stream: Confirm that live streaming is activated, the correct event is selected, and OBS has that event’s current stream key and URL. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
  • Stream health reports instability: Check actual upload capacity and competing network use. YouTube recommends 20% headroom above the stream bitrate. Try a lower recommended profile and retest.
  • Preview has no music: Check the OBS source’s audio routing and meters, then confirm the intended device is selected. Listen to the preview before going public.
  • Audio or video stops after an interruption: Check OBS, the computer, network, and Live Control Room. A local setup needs a recovery procedure; a UPS only helps with some power failures.
  • The broadcast is interrupted for copyright: Stop and resolve the rights issue. Verify permissions for both composition and recording, the relevant territories and use, and whether the rights holder must allowlist your channel in Content ID.
  • The replay is missing or incomplete: Do not assume a continuous 24-hour stream will archive as one video. YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours; check the current controls and plan accordingly.

Or let it run in the cloud

For a YouTube stream made from uploaded recordings, StreamNeo keeps playback running in the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; your computer and home connection can be off. It streams the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo is for YouTube and uploaded video, not a live camera feed. Punjabi music still requires the rights and any Content ID allowlisting described above.
