You can run a 24/7 YouTube stream from XSplit Broadcaster by enabling YouTube Live, building a scene, connecting a YouTube output, and choosing encoder settings your internet connection can sustain. XSplit runs on your Windows PC, so the computer, power and internet connection must stay available; XSplit does not guarantee uninterrupted uptime or automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
This guide covers the local XSplit setup and its limits for Indian creators. YouTube’s published encoder guidance is general, not India-specific: test the sustained upload speed where the PC will operate rather than assuming a particular setting works on every ISP.
Check your PC and connection first
XSplit Broadcaster’s listed requirements include Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM, a 2nd-generation Intel Core i5 or equivalent at minimum, broadband, and HTTP/HTTPS ports 80/8080. XSplit lists a 4th-generation Core i7 or equivalent as its recommendation for HD 1080p streaming. These are vendor-published requirements, not a promise that the minimum hardware or connection will deliver a stable stream. See XSplit Broadcaster system requirements.
Measure sustained upload speed at the actual streaming location, ideally while other devices and services are being used as they will be during the broadcast. YouTube says upload capacity should exceed the video bitrate and recommends 20% headroom. Shared broadband or Wi-Fi can deliver less to the PC than the connection’s advertised maximum; use a wired connection where practical and choose settings for the measured connection, not the plan name. Enable YouTube Live before launch day

Open YouTube’s live creation flow while signed in to the channel you intend to stream from, then complete the verification and live-stream enablement steps.

Check that the channel has no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time live activation can take up to 24 hours, so finish this setup in advance rather than immediately before your planned start.

Review the intended videos and audio for copyright issues and make sure the broadcast follows YouTube’s rules. A successful encoder connection does not establish that the content is eligible to remain live or be monetized.

Sign in to XSplit Broadcaster and add the visual and audio sources needed for the program. Confirm that the scene displays and that its audio meters respond before starting an output.

In XSplit, open Broadcast → YouTube. Authorize the YouTube channel when prompted, create a YouTube Live output, and fill in the requested broadcast details such as title, description, tags and privacy setting.

Preview the scene, check its audio and confirm the correct channel and broadcast details. Then start the created YouTube output. XSplit’s support guide describes this workflow; labels can change, so consult XSplit’s YouTube Live setup guide if your menus differ.
If direct YouTube authorization or output setup is unavailable, use YouTube Studio’s encoder workflow: copy the server URL and stream key into the corresponding XSplit stream settings. A stream key grants access to the broadcast, so do not publish or share it. If exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover the stream URL and key.
Choose stable encoder settings
For a straightforward SDR H.264 stream, YouTube recommends CBR (constant bitrate), RTMPS, and a keyframe interval of two seconds; the interval should not exceed four seconds. Set the video bitrate in XSplit to match the chosen resolution and frame rate, then verify the output in YouTube’s preview and stream-health indicators. YouTube’s encoder settings and bitrate guidance is the source for these recommendations.

The 1080p30 row above reproduces YouTube’s listed figures, including its lower “minimum” value being higher than its “recommended” value; follow the current table and test results rather than silently treating the labels as interchangeable. YouTube’s help page does not state a publication year for these figures, and they are platform recommendations—not a performance guarantee for an Indian ISP.

For YouTube’s 10 Mbps recommended H.264 bitrate at 1080p30, its recommended 20% upload headroom means the connection should sustain more than the stream’s bitrate; a connection that only just matches the target leaves no room for fluctuations or other traffic. If it cannot, lower the resolution, frame rate or bitrate and test again. Run a representative test with the actual scene, movement and audio: a static screen may use less bandwidth than the material you plan to stream.
Test the broadcast and plan for interruptions

Start early enough to inspect the Live Control Room preview and confirm that picture and sound arrive correctly before relying on the public stream.

Check YouTube’s stream-health indicators during a representative test and inspect the public watch page from a separate device or browser. Confirm that the title, privacy and playback are as intended.

If you configure a backup encoder, test the switchover deliberately before depending on it. Do not assume a backup works simply because it is configured.

For unattended operation, establish who or what process responds to PC, power, network or encoder failures. A line-interactive UPS sized for the desktop and router may help with brief power interruptions, but it cannot keep an internet service online if the network path itself fails.

YouTube states that streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a 24-hour session will be saved as one automatic archive; if an archive matters, plan and test a recording or segmenting workflow and confirm current YouTube behavior. See YouTube’s encoder guidance.

YouTube Live is not available: confirm channel verification and eligibility, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.

XSplit cannot connect or the broadcast will not start: check that the authorized YouTube account is the intended channel, that the stream key or authorization is current, and that the network permits the required traffic. If a key may have been exposed, reset it and update XSplit.

Stream health reports instability or viewers see buffering: remeasure sustained upload at the streaming PC, account for competing traffic, and reduce bitrate or resolution until the stream remains stable with headroom.

Picture works but audio does not: inspect the scene’s audio source, input selection and meters in XSplit, then confirm audio in the YouTube preview before relaunching.

The stream stops while unattended: check power, Windows/PC stability, network availability and encoder status. The documented XSplit workflow does not promise automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
