To stream 4K at 60 fps on YouTube from India, set your encoder’s output to 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps, then send it to the stream URL and key shown in YouTube Studio. Studio normally detects the incoming resolution and frame rate; manual resolution selection is available through a custom stream key. Use a stable upload connection, the bitrate recommended for your codec, and normal latency—YouTube does not support low or ultra-low latency for 4K streams.
Set up a 4K 60 fps YouTube stream
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. Create a new scheduled stream or select the stream you intend to use.
- Copy the stream details. In the stream settings, get the stream URL and stream key, then enter them in your encoder. YouTube’s instructions for managing these details are in Manage live stream settings. Keep the key private: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Set the encoder output. Choose 3840 × 2160 (2160p/4K) and 60 fps. Resolution and frame rate are determined by the feed your encoder sends. By default, YouTube detects them automatically; if you need to select resolution manually in Studio, create a custom stream key and enable Turn on manual settings in the Stream Resolution area. YouTube documents this and the supported encoder settings in Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
- Choose codec and bitrate. Use the recommended bitrate for your codec from the table below. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
- Start the encoder and verify the feed. Before the event, test with representative audio and movement. Check stream health and any warnings in Live Control Room, and confirm the incoming feed is reported as 4K at 60 fps.
These are YouTube’s general live-encoding settings, not India-specific controls. The official guidance cited here establishes no India-only resolution setting, bitrate, or eligibility rule. Your actual upload connection—not your location alone—determines whether the stream can be sent reliably.
Recommended 4K 60 fps encoder settings
| Setting | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps |
| Codec | H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 |
| Recommended bitrate | AV1 or H.265: 35 Mbps; H.264: 50 Mbps |
| Minimum bitrate listed by YouTube | AV1 or H.265: 10 Mbps; H.264: 14 Mbps |
| Bitrate mode | Constant bitrate (CBR) recommended |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Transport | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted transport |
The bitrate figures are YouTube’s recommendations and minimums for 2160p at 60 fps ingestion, not promises about the quality every viewer will see. YouTube transcodes live streams into formats for different devices and network conditions, so playback resolution can vary. The settings table is from YouTube’s encoder guidance, current at the time of access on October 3, 2026.
Check upload bandwidth and latency
Leave room above the video bitrate
Your sustained outgoing upload capacity must exceed the stream’s bitrate. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% bandwidth headroom; other devices or users on the same connection can reduce what is available to the encoder. Check upload speed specifically, preferably while the network is under conditions similar to the live event, and test the actual stream setup. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
4K requires normal latency
YouTube’s low-latency and ultra-low-latency options do not support 4K. A 4K live stream therefore uses normal latency, which can delay audience comments and interactions compared with the lower-latency options. If immediate audience interaction matters more than 4K detail, consider streaming at a lower resolution so the relevant latency setting is available. YouTube explains the trade-off in Understand live streaming latency.
Choose an encoder that can sustain the stream
The official settings do not endorse one named encoder. Check that your encoder can produce 3840 × 2160 at 60 fps and a supported codec, sustain the selected bitrate, and use the keyframe interval above. Also consider whether normal latency is acceptable for your broadcast. A setting that works in a short test may still fail if the connection or computer cannot hold it throughout the event, so test for long enough to reveal interruptions or instability.

Troubleshoot common 4K60 problems
- Studio does not show a 4K or 60 fps incoming feed: Check the encoder’s actual output resolution and frame rate, rather than relying on the project or preview settings. If you need Studio’s manual resolution control, use a custom stream key and enable Turn on manual settings.
- Stream health reports interruptions or the feed drops: Check sustained upload capacity against the selected bitrate, preserve the recommended headroom, and reduce competing network use. Retest on the connection you will use for the event.
- The encoder cannot hold the recommended bitrate: First confirm that your upload connection is stable and that the encoder is configured correctly. If it still cannot sustain the 4K60 recommendation, use a lower output resolution or frame rate rather than assuming the minimum bitrate will deliver the same result.
- Viewers cannot select 4K playback: The encoder settings describe the incoming feed; YouTube creates viewer playback formats, and available quality can vary by device and connection. Check the incoming stream and YouTube’s processing before treating a viewer’s playback option as proof that the encoder sent the wrong feed.
- Chat or audience interaction feels delayed: That is consistent with the normal-latency requirement for 4K. YouTube’s low- and ultra-low-latency modes are not available at 4K.
