To show each Hindi song’s name on the video, add a now-playing text or graphic overlay in your streaming encoder and update it as tracks change. YouTube documents how to add an overlay to an encoder-based stream, but that guidance does not provide automatic song recognition or a live track feed. Without a separately configured metadata source, you or a moderator will need to update the title and artist manually. For a simpler option, announce each track in Live Chat.

Put Hindi song names on the video with an overlay
- Prepare the label. Create a compact text or graphic overlay with the current song title and artist. Decide how it should sit on the video without covering important visuals.
- Add it to your encoder. In your encoder, add the overlay as a browser source. YouTube’s overlay guidance documents this method for adding graphics to an encoder-based live stream; it does not describe Hindi song identification or supply track metadata.
- Check Devanagari rendering. Preview the overlay before going live. Confirm that the chosen font and browser source display the Hindi text correctly, including matras and conjunct characters used in your titles. This is a practical check, not a guarantee about any particular encoder or font.
- Update the title and artist at each track change. Unless you connect a separate source that supplies and updates track metadata, someone must change the overlay manually. YouTube’s documented overlay mechanism does not automatically detect the playing song.
- Verify it in the stream preview. Check that the text is readable against the background and remains visible at the stream’s intended layout before starting the broadcast.
Use Live Chat for a low-setup announcement
When a song starts, post its Hindi title and artist in the stream’s Live Chat. The information appears in chat rather than over the picture, so viewers who are not watching the chat panel may miss it. YouTube explains how to use chat during a stream in its Live Chat instructions.
Use stream metadata for the overall broadcast
You can edit a stream’s title and description in Live Control Room using YouTube’s live stream settings. These fields identify the broadcast; the cited guidance does not describe them as automatically changing to show each song. Use the overlay or chat for per-track announcements.
What YouTube’s Music section can—and cannot—do
YouTube says its “Music” section shows information about music heard in a video, such as song and artist names. It may appear on some videos, including certain Content ID-claimed videos and videos containing Audio Library music. It is conditional: YouTube notes that information can be absent when rights-holder data is insufficient or the music has not been identified. The Music in this video help page does not establish this as a guaranteed live, song-by-song display, so do not rely on it for a live now-playing label.
