To start a 24/7 Assamese bedtime-stories livestream, first confirm your channel can go live, prepare stories and media you have rights to use, then connect an encoder to YouTube Live Control Room and test the full setup. A stream that runs continuously needs a plan for power, internet, monitoring and recovery—and YouTube warns that broadcasts longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
1. Confirm your channel can livestream
Before recording or buying equipment, verify the channel and check its live-streaming access in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s current guidance requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and says streamers must be at least 16. Confirm eligibility well before your planned launch; a restriction or access delay can stop the project before the technical setup matters.

2. Build a rights-cleared Assamese story library
Choose stories and narration you can use
Prepare a collection of Assamese-language stories with a consistent narration style and an intentional listening order. Use material you created or have permission to use for this purpose. Check rights separately for the story text, any translation or adaptation, the narration recording, illustrations, music and sound effects.

A familiar or old folktale is not automatic permission to use a particular modern translation, performance, recording or image. Attribution alone does not establish that you have the necessary rights. The copyright status of any specific Assamese story or version must be checked individually.
Make the audio comfortable for bedtime listening
Record narration clearly and check levels from beginning to end, including the transition between files. If you add music or ambience, keep it rights-cleared and quiet enough that every spoken word remains understandable. A microphone is optional equipment for recording narration; YouTube’s streaming overview discusses encoder setups using hardware such as microphones and preamps, while its streaming tips recommend monitoring audio quality.

Use visuals that match the listening experience, such as a simple title card or rights-cleared illustrations. Check the complete playlist for abrupt volume changes, accidental silence and gaps before putting it on air.
3. Choose how to keep the stream running

YouTube documents how to connect an encoder, but does not promise that a particular setup will stay live indefinitely. Choose based on whether you can maintain and monitor a local system or prefer to delegate playback to a cloud service. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions explain the platform-side workflow.

4. Create the YouTube stream and connect the encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and create or schedule an encoder stream. Add the title, description, visibility and schedule appropriate for the broadcast.
- Open the stream details in Live Control Room. Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the corresponding encoder fields.
- Protect the stream key. Treat it as a credential: do not post it, share it publicly or include it in a screenshot. If you believe it has been exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before going live.
- Start the encoder and inspect the preview. Confirm that the expected image and audio reach Live Control Room, and correct any problems before starting the public broadcast.
- Start the broadcast in Live Control Room. Confirm the watch page is reachable and the stream is playing as intended.
YouTube’s Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder guidance covers the server URL, stream key and control-room steps. Reuse a stream’s settings only when its metadata and key remain appropriate for the next broadcast.
5. Test capacity, monitoring and recovery
Check the connection before launch
YouTube advises that total outgoing bitrate should fit within available upload bandwidth and recommends leaving capacity beyond the bitrate used by the stream. Do not treat a speed-test result as proof that a 24/7 connection will remain stable: test the actual encoder and stream, including at the time and location you plan to operate.

- Run a private or otherwise non-public test and inspect Live Control Room’s preview.
- Check that viewers can open the intended watch page and that audio and video are present.
- Test backup encoder failover if your setup supports it.
- Monitor the broadcast for audio dropouts, frozen video, connection loss or an encoder that has stopped.
- Decide in advance who will respond and how they will restart the encoder or restore the connection.
These precautions follow YouTube’s streaming tips, which cover bandwidth headroom, testing, preview, failover and monitoring. A home-based setup also depends on the computer staying awake, power remaining available and the internet connection holding; plan for each rather than assuming a long stream will look after itself.

YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. A single 24-hour broadcast is therefore not a dependable way to create a complete 24-hour replay.

If retaining replays matters, consider ending and restarting the stream in shorter scheduled blocks and keeping local recordings as a separate archive. Shorter blocks require someone or something to manage the transitions and can interrupt listening while one broadcast ends and the next begins. Local recordings provide another copy, but they need their own storage and backup plan. Check YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance before relying on a particular archive workflow.
7. Set the audience accurately and understand monetization limits
Choose the Made for Kids setting based on the actual audience
Bedtime stories may be intended for children, families or a broader audience. Set the audience designation according to the content’s actual intended audience and YouTube’s guidance; neither the bedtime format nor the presence of stories automatically determines the answer. For content marked Made for Kids, YouTube restricts features including live chat, comments and personalized advertising. Review YouTube’s audience-setting guidance and select the setting that applies to your content.
Do not equate going live with earning money
Broadcast access does not guarantee YouTube Partner Program acceptance or ad revenue. A channel must be accepted into YPP and follow YouTube’s monetization policies. Those policies apply to livestreams as well as other video, and describe repetitive or mass-produced material as inauthentic content. A continuous loop does not by itself establish eligibility; YouTube’s decision depends on its review of the channel and content.
