To stop friends from joining the Roblox experience you’re playing, restrict Show current experience in your visibility settings. Go to Settings > Privacy & content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Visibility > Show current experience and choose the most restrictive audience available, such as No one if that option appears. Roblox says people outside the audience you select won’t see which experience you’re in. Roblox Support explains the visibility controls here.
Change who can see the experience you’re playing
- Open Settings. On desktop, select the gear icon at the top right. On mobile, tap More at the bottom right, then Settings.
- Go to Privacy & content restrictions > Visibility & private servers > Visibility.
- Open Show current experience and select the most restrictive audience available. Choose No one if it is offered.
Roblox’s available audience choices can vary by age and region. Your account may offer choices such as friends, trusted friends, followers, users you follow, everyone, or no one; not every account will necessarily show the same options. Roblox says people outside the selected audience won’t see what experience you’re playing.
Hide your online status separately
If you also want to appear offline, change Online Status on the same Visibility page. Roblox says people outside the audience you choose will see you as offline on your profile or Friends list. This is a separate control from Show current experience: restrict the latter to address friends joining through your active experience, and adjust both if you want to limit both kinds of visibility. If friends can still join, check how they’re doing it
Joining through your profile
Roblox calls the profile option Join Experience. It can appear when you’re in an experience and allow people to follow you, but the other player must also have permission to access that experience. If the setting change does not address the issue, check whether your friend is using this profile option and whether they can access the experience. Roblox Support describes joining other players in experiences.

Private servers
Private-server membership has its own settings, including controls for who can be added as a member. If the problem is specific to a private server, review that server’s membership settings rather than relying only on your general visibility choices. Roblox Support’s private-server guide.
Party invitations
Roblox Party is a separate way to group up and play. If the unwanted joining or invitations happen through a Party, review Party settings in Roblox’s communication and privacy controls. Roblox Support explains Party here.
