Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, copy its stream URL and key into your encoder, prepare the beach footage, then start the encoder and go live after checking the preview. The main constraints are a stable upload connection with spare capacity, rights to everything in the recording, and YouTube’s stated archive limit: its help page says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but does not establish that one uninterrupted 24-hour stream will be preserved in full.
Before you start: channel, footage, and connection
Confirm live-stream eligibility
YouTube says your channel must be verified and must not have had live-stream restrictions in the past 90 days. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so check access before planning a launch. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.
Use footage and sound you have rights to stream
YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the necessary rights to exploit live content worldwide, including music licensing rights and other royalty participants. That applies to the recording and any added audio; do not assume music or other sound captured at the beach is cleared for a worldwide livestream. This is a practical application of the platform’s terms, not legal advice. Read the YouTube Terms of Service.
Plan for enough upload capacity
Choose resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to match a reliable connection, test before broadcasting, and monitor stream health. YouTube recommends leaving about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. That recommendation is not a guarantee against ISP or network interruptions. A wired Ethernet connection to the router can avoid some local Wi-Fi variability when available, but it does not increase the bandwidth your internet plan provides.

Set up the Windows PC stream in YouTube Studio
- Enable live streaming and open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, use the Create menu and choose Go live. If this is your first stream, account for the possible enablement delay noted above.
- Create or schedule an encoder stream. In Live Control Room, create a stream or schedule one for later. YouTube’s workflow provides the server URL and stream key needed by encoder software. Follow the current on-screen prompts; labels can change as YouTube updates Studio.
- Copy the server URL and stream key into your encoder. Enter the server URL as the encoder’s stream destination and the key in its stream-key field. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. If it is compromised, the channel owner or manager can reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Prepare the beach feed. Add your authorized video and ambient audio as media sources in the encoder and configure the source to repeat if you want a loop. Looping controls depend on the encoder you choose; YouTube’s cited setup guidance does not prescribe a particular Windows application or a specific looping method.
- Choose stream settings and test. Set resolution, frame rate, and bitrate to suit the connection and content. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), a two-second keyframe interval, and RTMPS. Run a test with similar movement and audio, then check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health indicators before starting the public event.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Start streaming from the encoder, verify that the preview looks and sounds right, then start the event in Live Control Room if required by the selected workflow. Keep an eye on stream health during the broadcast; network interruptions can break a live stream.

Choose bitrate and quality for your actual connection
There is no single safe bitrate for every Windows PC or internet plan. A higher-quality feed needs more sustained upload capacity, and the relevant figure is the PC’s stable upload performance during the broadcast—not just a brief speed-test peak. Follow YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for your chosen resolution and frame rate, leave the recommended headroom, and test under conditions similar to the real stream.

- Use CBR and a two-second keyframe interval as YouTube recommends.
- Use RTMPS where your encoder supports it and the stream settings provide it.
- Reduce bitrate or output resolution if stream health indicates that the connection cannot sustain the chosen settings.
- Prefer a wired link where practical, while remembering it cannot compensate for limited ISP upload capacity or an unstable service.
What “24/7” means for a YouTube replay
A live feed can be kept running continuously, but archive behavior is a separate question. YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. The cited guidance does not establish whether one uninterrupted 24-hour broadcast is archived in full, so do not promise viewers a complete 24-hour replay on that basis. If a replay matters, plan how to end and restart streams in segments and verify the resulting archives in Studio rather than assuming a single all-day event will be retained intact.
Common problems and fixes
You cannot go live yet
Confirm that the channel is verified and has no live-stream restriction within the past 90 days. If you have only just enabled live streaming, allow up to 24 hours before treating the delay as a setup failure.

The encoder will not connect
Check that the URL and key were copied into the correct destination and key fields, that the key has not been reset, and that the encoder is actually set to start sending. If you suspect the key was exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder with the new key.
The preview stutters or stream health drops
The selected bitrate may exceed the connection’s sustained upload capacity, or the connection may be interrupted. Lower bitrate or resolution, leave more upload headroom, and test again. A wired PC-to-router connection may help with local Wi-Fi instability but cannot fix an ISP-side outage.

The feed appears but has no beach sound or picture
Check that the encoder’s media source points to the intended file and that the video and audio sources are enabled and routed to the stream. Make a test broadcast or private test before relying on the setup for an unattended run.
The replay is shorter or missing
YouTube’s cited instruction expressly covers automatic archiving only for streams under 12 hours. For longer broadcasts, the cited guidance does not establish full archive behavior. Use shorter planned segments when having a replay is important, and inspect each archive after the stream ends.
