You can keep morning prayers and aarti available on YouTube around the clock by sending a live camera feed or rights-cleared prepared video through an encoder, then monitoring the stream and planning for outages. A 24/7 broadcast is an operating goal, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service: YouTube access, a reliable connection, a working encoder, cleared material and a recovery plan all matter.
Before you start: make sure your channel can go live
YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. Its general live-streaming guidance says streamers must be at least 16. If this is the channel’s first live stream, activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable access and verify the channel well before the planned broadcast.
Check YouTube’s current live-streaming eligibility requirements before scheduling the event; availability and rules can change.
Choose what viewers will see and hear
Decide whether to show a real-time view of a prayer or aarti, or to play prepared visuals and audio. A live venue view requires suitable framing, lighting, access and attention to people’s privacy. Prepared material can avoid the need for a camera, but it still needs to be cleared for livestream use.

Get permission to film at the venue where applicable. Confirm that you have the rights to every element in the broadcast, including the composition, the specific recording or performance, images and video. A devotional subject does not by itself make a recording or visual free to use.
Rights-check the music and visuals
YouTube scans live broadcasts for third-party matches. A detected match may replace the picture with a placeholder; if the matched content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Even if you have a licence, the rights owner may need to add your channel to their Content ID allowlist for the stream to proceed without an interruption.

Use material you own or have cleared specifically for livestreaming, and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting when relevant. See YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams. Rights to a devotional song’s composition do not automatically grant rights to a modern recording, arrangement, performance or accompanying artwork.
Create the stream and connect an encoder
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create a stream and choose the applicable broadcast details and visibility. For a technical test, use private or unlisted visibility as appropriate.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key. In the encoder’s YouTube or RTMP connection settings, enter the server URL and key from the Live Control Room. Treat the key like a password: anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream.
- Configure the encoder and start its output. YouTube supports encoder workflows, including RTMP/RTMPS delivery. Wait for the incoming feed to appear in the Live Control Room preview.
- Check the preview, then start the broadcast through YouTube’s Live Control Room workflow. Confirm the public-facing stream is playing as intended before leaving it unattended.

Set resolution, bitrate and audio for your connection
Choose an output your internet connection can sustain continuously, rather than aiming for the highest available quality. YouTube’s current encoder guidance supports H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, and constant bitrate (CBR) encoding. It recommends a two-second keyframe interval, which should not exceed four seconds.
For H.264 at 1080p30, YouTube lists a recommended bitrate range of 5–14 Mbps. That range applies to that specific resolution and frame rate; it is not a universal setting for other configurations. Use YouTube’s encoder settings guidance to choose settings for your intended resolution and frame rate.

YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom above the total stream bitrate. For example, a stream configured at a given bitrate needs additional sustained upload capacity beyond that figure; if other devices or a backup feed share the connection, include their demand too. YouTube’s streaming tips advise testing in advance and monitoring stream health and audio/video quality.
Test, monitor and plan for recovery
- Run a representative test. Use the same audio, visuals, encoder settings and network conditions planned for the broadcast. Check the YouTube preview and play the stream on a viewer device.
- Listen and inspect. Confirm speech or music is intelligible, levels are not clipping, the picture is stable and the stream-health indicators show no connection problems. Check any local recording too.
- Arrange monitoring. Decide who or what will notice a dropped feed, encoder failure, power loss, network outage or rights warning. A 24/7 operation needs a way to detect problems and restart or recover the broadcast; YouTube does not promise uninterrupted uptime.
- Prepare a recovery plan. Keep the stream key secure but accessible to an authorized operator, document the encoder settings, and know how to reconnect the encoder and restart through the Live Control Room.
Plan replay access separately from the live broadcast
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local archive backup. If a stream exceeds 12 hours, it may not be captured at all. For an around-the-clock channel, do not depend on one continuous stream to create a complete replay.

Choose either local recording with enough storage and an operator or planned shorter broadcasts with a clear restart schedule. See YouTube’s live-stream archive guidance for current details.
Common problems and fixes
- Live streaming is unavailable: Verify the channel, check that it has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and enable live access in advance. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Compare the encoder’s server URL and stream key with the values shown in the Live Control Room. Check for copying errors and confirm the encoder is outputting to the selected destination.
- The stream is unstable or drops: Reduce the resolution, frame rate or bitrate to a level the connection can sustain, check for competing upload traffic, and preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom. Monitor the connection rather than assuming a speed test guarantees continuous capacity.
- Video or audio is interrupted by a rights match: Remove the matched material or resolve the rights issue. If the content is licensed, ask the owner whether your channel must be allowlisted through Content ID.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use a local recording or divide the schedule into shorter broadcasts if replay access matters.
