To stream a cave ambience video with dripping-water audio around the clock, send a loop of your finished video to YouTube Live through an encoder—or use a cloud service that plays uploaded video. Before you start, check that your channel can livestream, confirm that your video and audio are cleared for use, test your upload connection and preview the feed. Most importantly, YouTube warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured in its archive, so do not rely on one continuous 24-hour broadcast for a complete YouTube replay.
Before you start: check the channel, files and rights
Confirm livestream access
YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days to livestream. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours, so enable it before the day you plan to launch. See YouTube’s livestreaming tips and encoder setup guidance.
Use footage and sound you are allowed to stream
Make sure you own or have the necessary rights to both the cave visuals and the dripping-water recording, including any music or other audio mixed into it. YouTube’s livestream terms place responsibility for the necessary rights on the creator: Livestream terms and conditions. Keep your source video and audio files so you can rebuild the loop or make a local recording if needed.
Set up a local encoder for YouTube Live
YouTube supports software and hardware encoders. A software encoder runs on a computer; a hardware encoder is a separate device. YouTube does not require expensive equipment for streaming, and its guidance does not specify a computer configuration for looping this particular kind of video. Choose an encoder that can repeat your prepared video and audio, and consult its own instructions for the exact loop controls.

#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Create the YouTube broadcast. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Follow the prompts for the stream’s title, visibility and other details. The interface can change, so use YouTube’s current encoder setup steps if a label differs.
- Copy the connection details. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room into the matching server and key fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a screenshot.
- Configure the loop. Select the cave video and dripping-water audio, then enable repeat or looping in the encoder. Check that the end and beginning join cleanly; an abrupt cut, silent gap or sudden level change can be especially noticeable in a continuous ambience stream. The exact control depends on the encoder.
- Check the total upload bitrate. Compare the encoder’s total outgoing bitrate with the upload capacity actually available to the streaming computer. YouTube recommends leaving 20% headroom and notes that other people or devices sharing the connection can reduce available capacity. Its advice is at Streaming tips. If the upload connection is unstable or shared heavily, lower the encoder’s bitrate rather than using all measured capacity.
- Start the encoder and preview the incoming feed. In Live Control Room, confirm that YouTube receives the stream and preview the picture and sound before starting the public broadcast. Check that the cave scene is visible, dripping water is audible at a steady level, and the intended watch page is available. YouTube recommends testing the setup before going live (livestreaming tips).
- Go live and monitor it. Start the broadcast from Live Control Room when the preview looks right. Keep an eye on the encoder and YouTube’s stream status, and check the video and audio periodically rather than assuming that a successful start guarantees an uninterrupted stream.
Plan the local recording and viewer rewind separately
YouTube may not archive a 24-hour broadcast
YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. That means a single uninterrupted 24/7 broadcast is not a dependable way to create a complete YouTube replay. YouTube recommends keeping a local archive backup; see Archive live streams.
If you need a persistent copy, record locally and separately verify that your encoder is writing the file, that the recording storage has enough free space for your intended duration, and that you know how to start a new file or recover recording after an interruption. The official guidance does not prescribe a storage amount or restart procedure for this use case.

Do not promise viewers a full-day rewind
YouTube DVR can let viewers pause or rewind a live stream, but DVR may be limited or unavailable on very long streams; viewers also cannot seek back to before the broadcast began. See Turn on DVR on live streams. If rewind matters to your audience, describe its availability as subject to YouTube’s behavior rather than promising access to the whole day.
Troubleshooting a cave ambience stream
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Recheck that the encoder has the stream URL and current stream key copied from the right Live Control Room broadcast. Confirm the channel has livestream access, then restart the encoder connection if needed.
- The stream buffers or loses quality: Check whether the total outgoing bitrate exceeds reliable upload capacity or whether other network use is consuming bandwidth. YouTube recommends 20% headroom; reduce bitrate or ease competing network traffic and test again.
- The picture appears but the dripping-water audio is missing or uneven: Check the encoder’s selected audio source and the file’s audio track, then listen in the Live Control Room preview before relaunching. Confirm that the loop boundary does not create a gap or abrupt level change.
- The YouTube replay is missing or incomplete: A broadcast longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. Use the local recording as the backup rather than expecting YouTube to produce a complete archive.
- Viewers cannot rewind far into the broadcast: Long-stream DVR can be limited or unavailable, and DVR does not let viewers go back to before the broadcast started. Do not treat this as proof that the encoder loop stopped.
