To keep a 24/7 chakra meditation playlist visible on YouTube, send a continuous, valid audio-and-video feed from an encoder to YouTube Live Control Room, check the preview before publishing, and monitor the stream while it runs. A blank or placeholder screen can come from the source or encoder, a connection problem, or YouTube copyright enforcement. Secure the rights to every track, and keep a local recording: YouTube says streams over 12 hours may not be captured in its archive.
What you need for a continuous stream
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says the channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the past 90 days. Check current eligibility in YouTube’s encoder setup guidance.
- An encoder and a video source that can keep producing picture and sound. This can be a software encoder on a computer or a dedicated hardware encoder; buying dedicated hardware is not required for every setup.
- The Live Control Room server URL and stream key. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it or expose it in a public recording or screenshot.
- Music and visuals you have the rights to use in a YouTube livestream and, if applicable, its replay.
- A reliable internet connection with spare upload capacity, plus a way to monitor the feed and save a local copy if the broadcast must be archived.
A calm visual is fine, but it still needs to be valid video output. The available YouTube guidance does not prescribe a particular visual design or guarantee that a static image or loop will avoid a black screen.
Set up the playlist in YouTube Live Control Room
- Enable live streaming and check channel status. Confirm that your channel is eligible before preparing an unattended broadcast. If live streaming is unavailable, resolve the channel’s eligibility or restriction issue first.
- Create or schedule a live stream. Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the stream. Copy its server URL and stream key into your encoder. YouTube’s instructions are to “enter your YouTube Live server URL and stream key into your encoder” to start streaming (Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder).
- Load the playlist into a dependable source. Confirm the playlist actually advances and that the chosen visual continues to render. A playlist that stops, a media file that cannot be read, or an encoder that ceases output can leave YouTube with no usable picture or sound.
- Start the encoder before publishing. Give YouTube time to receive the feed, then inspect the Live Control Room preview. Verify both picture and sound there; do not rely only on what the encoder says it is sending.
- Check the watch page and a mobile view. YouTube recommends setting up in advance, checking access, and monitoring stream quality. Confirm the public viewing experience before leaving a long broadcast unattended (YouTube live streaming tips).
- Monitor the stream during the broadcast. Watch stream health and check that the source is still advancing and the output still has audio and video. If you use a backup encoder or network connection, test the failover before depending on it.
- Record locally. Keep a local recording if you need an archive. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured (Archive live streams).
Keep enough upload bandwidth available
YouTube recommends about 20% upload-bandwidth headroom above the stream bitrate. In practical terms, if your encoder sends a stream at a given bitrate, available upload capacity should be roughly one-fifth higher than that bitrate; account for both primary and backup feeds if they transmit at the same time. This is YouTube’s operational recommendation, not a guarantee against interruptions (Streaming tips).
Other devices and uploads on the same connection can consume that headroom. If the connection drops or becomes unstable, YouTube warns the stream can break. For an unattended setup, arrange a way to notice frozen or blank output and recover the encoder or network. That watchdog and recovery arrangement is practical operating advice; YouTube’s cited guidance does not specify an automated watchdog or guarantee unattended recovery.

Why a 24/7 stream can show a black or placeholder screen
Copyright detection replaces or interrupts the feed
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If it detects content that violates its rules, it may replace the live video with a placeholder image; if the content remains, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the stream. Review notices in YouTube Studio and the rules for copyright issues with live streams.
A license may not prevent a live interruption by itself
YouTube says that even licensed content can be interrupted if the channel has not been allowlisted by the rights owner through Content ID. Ask the rights owner whether the channel must be allowlisted, and resolve that process before relying on the music in a continuous broadcast (Copyright issues with live streams).

The source, encoder, or connection stops sending valid output
If YouTube shows an active stream but the preview has no picture or sound, inspect the actual preview, encoder output, playlist playback, and stream health before settling on a cause. A failed media source, encoder output, or network can each require a different fix; a blank preview alone does not identify which component failed. YouTube recommends monitoring stream health and checking audio and video quality (YouTube live streaming tips).
The encoder cannot connect
Check that the encoder has the current server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. If an encoder will not start, YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance includes trying a new stream key and updating the encoder with it (Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream). Keep the replacement key private as well.

Clear music rights before going live
YouTube’s livestream terms require you to have the rights needed to use the live content, including music licensing rights (Livestream terms and conditions). Do not assume a track is cleared because it is labeled “chakra,” “meditation,” or “royalty-free,” or because it is available on another platform. Check the actual license scope for live streaming and archived replay, and ask the rights owner about any Content ID allowlisting requirement.
Understand the archive and monetization limits
A 24/7 broadcast is not a dependable YouTube archive
YouTube’s archive guidance says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, while streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. A continuous 24/7 broadcast exceeds that threshold, so do not rely on YouTube alone if you need a complete recording. Save a local copy and check that it is being recorded (Archive live streams).

A loop does not guarantee monetization eligibility
YouTube’s monetization policies cover repetitive or mass-produced content under its inauthentic-content policy, and reused content is assessed for significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value. The policy evaluates a channel as a whole; it does not establish that every meditation livestream is ineligible. Review YouTube channel monetization policies and do not assume that a looped playlist qualifies.

A software encoder on an existing computer avoids buying a dedicated encoder, but the source, encoder, and network connection all need to keep working. Dedicated hardware is another option, particularly for higher-production events; YouTube describes both software encoding and professional-grade hardware encoders in its encoder setup guidance and live streaming tips. Whichever method you choose, preserve a local recording if the archive matters and test the full signal path before leaving it unattended.
