The hardest prerequisite is not the encoder: it is confirming rights for every recording, composition, visual, territory and use in your rotation. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches, and even licensed material can interrupt a broadcast if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel.
What you need before starting
A 24/7 radio-style channel is a continuous live broadcast assembled from prerecorded material. Your playback system sends a combined audio-video feed to YouTube; viewers watch it as a live stream rather than as a sequence of ordinary uploads.
Plan for four separate requirements:
- Rights: permission for the actual music and visuals in the rotation, for the intended live use, territories, duration, monetization and any archive.
- Live access: a YouTube account enabled and verified for live streaming.
- A continuous feed: streaming software or an encoder that can play the planned material and send it to YouTube.
- Operations: a way to notice interruptions, respond to warnings and check any saved archive after the stream.
YouTube for Artists reported that over 30% of daily logged-in YouTube viewers watched live content in Q2 2025. That is a broad platform statistic, not evidence of demand or likely reach for a 24/7 Indian music channel.
Clear the music and visuals before you broadcast
Check the actual material and intended use
Make an inventory of each recording, composition, video clip, artwork and other third-party element in your rotation. Confirm with the relevant rights holders that your permission covers continuous livestreaming, your intended territories, the duration and monetization of the broadcast, and whether a saved archive may remain available.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Do not treat a “royalty-free” label, general permission to upload through a distributor, a YouTube video license, or possession of an existing recording as proof that you may use it in a continuous livestream. The rights required for a particular Indian catalogue depend on the material and who controls it. Confirm the details with the applicable rights holders or qualified counsel; a general checklist cannot determine them for your repertoire.
Ask rights owners about Content ID allowlisting
YouTube says live streams are scanned for third-party content. It advises creators who have licensed material to ask the owner to add their channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube for Artists likewise recommends coordinating with a label or distributor before using copyright-protected music in a live stream.

A license does not by itself ensure uninterrupted playback. If a rights owner’s system identifies music during the stream and the channel is not allowlisted where applicable, YouTube may show a warning, replace the stream with a placeholder image, or interrupt or terminate it. Copyright or Community Guidelines strikes can also terminate a stream. Allowlisting is not a substitute for securing the underlying rights.
Prepare and test the YouTube live broadcast
- Enable live streaming and verify the account. YouTube for Artists says a first-time creator should complete this at least 24 hours before going live. Do it well ahead of the planned launch rather than on the day.
- Choose an encoder or streaming software. YouTube for Artists describes an encoder as offering more customization and control than a simple mobile or webcam stream. The YouTube API describes a broadcast as being associated with a stream that carries the actual audio-video feed.
- Build the program feed. Arrange the prerecorded videos in the desired rotation and ensure the playback system produces a combined audio-video signal for the encoder. The official sources reviewed do not specify a complete unattended playlist scheduler, a machine specification, or a 24/7 operating configuration, so verify those capabilities for the software or encoder you choose rather than assuming that every encoder can loop and recover unattended.
- Connect the encoder to YouTube. Create or select the live broadcast in YouTube’s current live controls, then use the stream key and connection details provided there in your encoder. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish it or include it in a video or screenshot. The available official material does not establish a universal menu path or a single set of encoder values for every setup.
- Use the encoder’s current output guidance. Set its audio, video and output options to values supported by your source, encoder and the current YouTube guidance shown for the stream. The sources cited here do not establish a recommended bitrate, resolution, frame rate or keyframe interval for this particular continuous playlist, so do not rely on invented one-size-fits-all numbers.
- Run an unlisted test. YouTube for Artists recommends an unlisted test before a high-production or high-investment event. Check that the intended audio and visuals reach the stream and watch for YouTube warnings. A short successful test checks the basic path; it does not prove 24/7 reliability or rights clearance.
- Monitor the live session and any archive. Have someone able to respond to platform warnings and check whether the stream remains live. If YouTube saves an archive, inspect it for claims after the broadcast ends.
Understand live checks, Content ID and the archive
The live broadcast and its archive are separate risk points. YouTube says Content ID claims are made after a live stream is completed if the creator archives it. A rights owner’s policy can affect the resulting video; depending on the match and policy, Content ID can block a video, monetize it for the rights holder (sometimes with revenue sharing), or track it. Outcomes can differ by geography.

YouTube’s live Content ID matching feature is not a general permission route for third-party music. It is available only to certain Content Manager partners, and YouTube lists global rights and exclusive ownership among its requirements. A live stream using that matching setup cannot include third-party material such as background music.
Plan for unattended operation honestly
A prerecorded playlist is not automatically a dependable 24/7 service. Before launch, establish who will notice if playback stops, the encoder disconnects, or YouTube interrupts the stream, and how that person can restore service. Confirm directly that your chosen software or equipment supports the playlist length, looping and recovery behavior you need. The official YouTube and OBS material reviewed does not document a complete unattended scheduling, automatic reconnect or redundancy design, nor does it promise uninterrupted operation.

Quick Recap
Common problems and what to check
- You cannot start a live broadcast: confirm live streaming is enabled and the account has been verified. For a first-time setup, allow at least 24 hours in advance, as YouTube for Artists recommends.
- The stream is live but has no intended audio or visuals: inspect the playback output and encoder input, then repeat an unlisted test and confirm the program feed contains both.
- YouTube warns about third-party content or interrupts the stream: stop and investigate the identified material. Confirm the relevant permission and ask the rights owner about allowlisting the channel; do not assume that a license alone prevents an interruption.
- The live stream completes but the archive receives a claim: review the archive and the rights owner’s Content ID policy, including any geography-specific outcome. Live playback and archive treatment are separate checks.
- The playlist or connection stops unattended: check the playback system, encoder and connection, and confirm whether the specific setup supports looping and recovery. The official sources cited here do not establish a universal automatic-reconnect procedure.
Launch checklist
- Inventory the exact recordings, compositions and visuals in the rotation.
- Confirm rights for continuous live use and any archive in each intended territory.
- Ask applicable owners to allowlist the channel through Content ID.
- Enable and verify YouTube live streaming in advance.
- Confirm the chosen encoder or software can sustain the planned playlist and determine how interruptions will be handled.
- Run an unlisted test, watch for platform warnings, and inspect a saved archive for claims.
