To run Quran recitations continuously on YouTube, send a repeating playlist of recordings you own or are authorized to broadcast through a local encoder or a cloud streaming service. Create a stream in YouTube Live Control Room, put its stream key into the encoder, wait for the preview, and start the broadcast. Before going live, confirm recording rights and plan for interruptions and archive limits.

Before you start: confirm rights and prepare the recordings

Use recordings you created or have permission to rebroadcast. Rights apply to the particular recording and any accompanying audio or visuals; the Quranic subject matter does not establish that a recording is cleared. Keep written permission and any relevant license information available.

YouTube scans live streams for matches to third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder, interrupt it, or terminate it. Even a licensed recording may be interrupted if its rights holder has not added your channel to the Content ID allowlist. YouTube may also make Content ID claims on an archived stream after it ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Prepare the playlist and check that each file plays correctly, including the audio at the start and end of tracks. Keep the source files separately if you may need to rebuild the playlist or preserve a complete recording.

Choose where the playlist will run

Approach How it works Trade-off
Local computer and encoder An encoder on your computer plays the recordings in a loop and sends the live feed to YouTube. The computer, encoder, and network connection must remain available. You can use a suitable computer you already own; a dedicated mini PC is optional.
Cloud playlist encoder A hosted service plays recordings you upload and sends the continuous feed to YouTube. Your personal computer need not stay on, but the service’s storage, playlist controls, restart behavior, availability, and current terms vary. Check them before relying on a provider.

In either case, YouTube receives a live feed from an encoder. The playlist playback and looping happen in the local or hosted workflow; do not assume YouTube Studio has a universal control that loops uploaded recordings as a live broadcast. Google’s Live Streaming API documentation explicitly describes the 24/7 live-feed use case.

Set up and start the YouTube live stream

  1. Create the broadcast: Open YouTube Live Control Room and create a stream. Set its title, description, and visibility to match your intended audience.
  2. Copy the stream key: Use the stream key shown for that broadcast in your encoder. Treat it like a password: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish or share it.
  3. Configure playlist playback: In your local encoder workflow, select the recordings and set playback to repeat. For a cloud workflow, upload the recordings and arrange the playlist in the service. Configure the encoder to send its output to YouTube using the stream destination and key shown in Live Control Room.
  4. Start the encoder and check the preview: Wait for YouTube to show the incoming feed. Confirm that the video and audio are present and that the recitation is audible before proceeding.
  5. Go live: Once the preview is ready, click Go Live in Live Control Room if the workflow requires it. YouTube’s live production guide covers creating a stream, entering the key in an encoder, checking the preview, and starting the broadcast.

Monitor the broadcast and plan for recovery

Check that audio continues cleanly across playlist transitions and that the stream remains active in YouTube Studio. Arrange a way to restart playback or the encoder if it stops, and check Studio for warnings or strikes if YouTube interrupts the stream. YouTube’s copyright guidance directs creators whose live streams stop to check Studio for strikes.

A continuous stream can fail because of a local computer or network problem, a playback issue, a provider-side issue, or a YouTube restriction. The exact recovery controls depend on the encoder or hosting service, so verify how to restart it before leaving the broadcast unattended. Do not treat any provider’s recovery or uptime as guaranteed unless its current terms establish that.

Plan for the 24-hour archive

A long live broadcast is not a dependable way to create one complete replay. YouTube’s creator guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and advises recording longer streams separately for manual upload. Because archive behavior can change, check current YouTube Studio guidance before relying on an automatic replay. Preserve your source recordings and make a separate recording or upload if viewers need an uninterrupted archive of the full program.
