- A stream created in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, with its server URL and stream key available for the encoder.
This workflow is for sending a pre-recorded program as an encoded live feed, not for capturing a camera. No particular PC model or minimum Windows hardware specification is established here; actual capacity depends on the files and encoding workload you choose.
Prepare the bhajan program and confirm rights
Check every layer of the media
A devotional or traditional song is not automatically free to broadcast. The underlying composition, a particular arrangement or performance, the sound recording, video, and artwork may have different rights holders and license terms. Obtain permission or a license covering live online transmission, the territories where the channel will be available, the intended duration, any archived replay, and commercial use if applicable. This is a practical checklist, not a legal determination for a specific song or country.
YouTube’s Live Stream Terms and Conditions state that the provider warrants having necessary rights for worldwide use, including music licensing rights. Keep written permissions and license terms where you can retrieve them.

Expect Content ID checks
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can replace the stream with a placeholder; if the material continues, YouTube may interrupt or terminate the broadcast. A license alone may not prevent this: the rights owner may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. An archived stream can also receive a Content ID claim after it ends. See YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance and confirm any required allowlisting before broadcasting licensed tracks.
Do not assume a playlist qualifies for monetization
YouTube’s monetization guidance says content should be original and non-repetitious, and that creators need commercial-use rights for all audio and visual elements. Royalty-free or Creative Commons material can be monetized when its license permits commercial use, sometimes subject to credit or proof-of-purchase requirements. Repeating existing recordings in a long playlist may not meet originality or non-repetition expectations; assess the channel against YouTube’s current monetization policies rather than assuming that a devotional subject or live format is sufficient.

Create the YouTube Live stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and choose the relevant stream settings.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for the stream. YouTube describes the key as the password and address an encoder uses to connect, so keep it private. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in the live-stream settings before using it again.
- In your FFmpeg workflow, configure the output destination using YouTube’s ingest URL and the stream key. The precise FFmpeg option syntax depends on your FFmpeg build and how you form the destination; verify it against current FFmpeg documentation and test it before relying on it.
- Start the encoder and inspect the Live Control Room preview and stream health. Do not treat a running FFmpeg process as proof that viewers are receiving a healthy stream.
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions are at support.google.com/youtube/answer/2907883. If live streaming is not enabled yet, allow for the stated first-time activation delay before troubleshooting FFmpeg.
Choose YouTube-compatible video and audio settings
YouTube’s current encoder guidance supports RTMP or RTMPS ingestion; it recommends RTMPS. Its listed video codec options include H.264, H.265, and AV1, with frame rates up to 60 fps, and it lists AAC or MP3 for audio. Use constant bitrate encoding and set a two-second keyframe interval; YouTube recommends that interval and says it should not exceed four seconds. Check the current YouTube live encoder settings for the bitrate table matching your codec, resolution, and frame rate.

There is no single bitrate that is correct for every bhajan stream. Select a supported value for your chosen codec, resolution, and frame rate that your real upload connection can sustain. Test with audio and movement similar to the intended broadcast, then monitor YouTube’s stream health rather than relying on a speed test alone. If the connection cannot sustain the selected bitrate, reduce the output settings and test again.
Build and operate the FFmpeg workflow on Windows
The documented workflow has these parts: prepare rights-cleared media, create a continuous audio/video program feed, encode it to accepted live settings, send it to the YouTube stream URL with the key, and verify the preview and health. The available platform guidance does not validate a particular FFmpeg command for indefinitely looping a playlist on Windows, nor Windows service or scheduled-task settings for restarting a failed encoder. Treat file paths, quoting, loop behavior, process recovery, and any command you assemble as items to verify against current FFmpeg and Windows documentation and a local test.

Test recovery rather than assuming it
A 24/7 broadcast can stop when the source media ends or becomes unavailable, the network drops, the computer sleeps or loses power, the FFmpeg process exits, or YouTube interrupts the stream. Before relying on an unattended setup, test the failure cases you can safely reproduce and decide who will notice and respond. Windows power settings, network stability, account access, and encoder health all matter; this is operational planning, not a claim that any particular PC or connection will stay online continuously.

YouTube’s encoder setup help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish unlimited archive behavior for one perpetual broadcast. Check YouTube’s current behavior and choose deliberately between a continuous live page, scheduled blocks that create restart points, or separate replayable videos in a library. A series of shorter sessions may create more manageable broadcast units, but it changes the viewing experience and does not remove the need to check the current platform limits.

Troubleshoot common failures
- You cannot start a live stream: Check whether live streaming has been enabled for the channel. Initial activation can take up to 24 hours.
- YouTube does not receive the encoder feed: Recheck that the stream URL and key belong to the intended Live Control Room stream, that the key has not been changed, and that the encoder is sending to the correct destination. Review the preview and stream-health indicators.
- The stream health is poor or the feed disconnects: Compare the selected bitrate with the upload connection under the actual workload. Lower the output settings if necessary, use constant bitrate encoding, and retest with similar content.
- The live feed is replaced, interrupted, or terminated: Investigate possible third-party content matches. Confirm rights and ask the rights owner about Content ID allowlisting where needed.
- The stream stops when a file or playlist ends: Confirm that the program feed actually continues, then validate the looping behavior in your specific FFmpeg/Windows setup. An indefinite Windows loop command is not established by the platform setup guidance cited here.
- The replay is missing or incomplete: Check the stream duration and YouTube’s current archive behavior. The cited automatic-archive statement is for streams under 12 hours, not a guarantee for a perpetual broadcast.
