You can run a 24/7 meadow-and-wind livestream on YouTube by sending a prepared video and audio feed through an encoder to YouTube Live Control Room. The channel must be eligible, the video and sound must be cleared for continuous livestream and replay, and your encoder and internet connection must stay reliable. First test the visual and audio loops, stream health, and recovery plan with an unlisted broadcast.

Before you build the stream

Check channel eligibility

YouTube says a channel must be verified and have had no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. Livestreamers must be at least 16. Check the channel’s status and enable live streaming ahead of your planned launch; YouTube may require activation time. See YouTube’s live-streaming access requirements.

Clear the meadow footage and wind audio

Use material you created or have permission to use. A license needs to cover continuous livestreaming, and, if you want a replay, the resulting archive as well. Permission to use an asset in a regular video does not automatically establish permission for a 24/7 broadcast or its archive. The setup guidance does not determine the rights status of any particular footage or sound recording.

YouTube also expects creators to follow its copyright rules and monetization policies. Reused or minimally changed material can create separate monetization concerns even when you have permission to use it; rights clearance is not a guarantee of monetization. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies and copyright guidance before launch.

Prepare a loop that will not call attention to itself

Choose footage that can repeat without a visible jump, such as a steady meadow view with subtle movement. Build the wind bed so its beginning and end meet smoothly. Listen and watch across several repeats: abrupt cuts, a click at the audio boundary, or a sudden change in wind level can be distracting during a long stream. These are production checks, not settings YouTube can fix for you.

YouTube does not prescribe one specific way to loop a prerecorded video for a live broadcast. The loop has to be provided by the encoder or the playback workflow feeding it. Confirm that your chosen setup actually repeats both picture and sound before making the stream public.

Configure YouTube and the encoder

1. Create a stream and protect its key

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to enter Live Control Room. Create or select the stream, and set its visibility to Unlisted for the first test.

  3. Use RTMPS if your encoder supports it. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder broadcasts. Follow the current YouTube encoder livestream instructions if the Studio layout or labels differ.

2. Set video and audio for a stable feed

Use these as YouTube’s general encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer, encoder, or connection can sustain the stream continuously:

Setting Recommended starting point What to check
Video codec H.264; YouTube’s general guidance also lists H.265 (HEVC) and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS Choose a codec your encoder and workflow support consistently.
Rate control CBR Set a constant bitrate and test that your upload connection can sustain it.
Frame rate Up to 60 fps Use a rate suited to the source footage; more frames are not necessary for a static or slowly moving meadow scene.
Keyframe interval 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds Set the interval in the encoder’s video output settings.
H.264 video bitrate 5 Mbps recommended for 1080p at 30 fps This is YouTube’s recommendation for that resolution and frame rate, not a required minimum for every stream. Consult its current bitrate table for other output settings.
Audio AAC or MP3; advanced stereo recommendation is 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps Listen for clipping, silence, noise, and a noticeable join where the wind loop repeats.

See YouTube’s current encoder settings for its full guidance. Test the available upload bitrate before choosing output settings, leaving enough capacity for a reliable feed rather than aiming at the connection’s absolute limit.

3. Preview before going public

  1. Start the encoder while the YouTube stream remains unlisted. Wait for the incoming feed and inspect the Live Control Room preview before starting a public broadcast.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  2. Watch through multiple video and audio loop boundaries. Check that the meadow image repeats as expected, the wind does not click or drop out, and audio and video remain in sync.

  3. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and confirm your encoder is not reporting dropped frames or a lost connection. YouTube recommends testing ahead of launch and monitoring stream quality. A test is especially important because platform recommendations do not prove your specific setup can run indefinitely.

  4. Only after the test is clean, change the stream’s visibility or create the planned public event and start the broadcast.

Keep a 24/7 broadcast running

Plan for failures, not just the first successful start

A continuous stream depends on the encoder, playback loop, power, and internet connection remaining available. Arrange a way to notice stream-health alerts and decide who or what will respond if the feed stops. YouTube’s general setup guidance recommends monitoring but does not prescribe a particular watchdog, automatic restart tool, or recovery method. Test your own restart and reconnection process rather than assuming the encoder will recover in every failure case.

If you run the encoder on a home computer, that computer and its network connection have to remain available for the stream to continue. For a long broadcast, consider power interruptions, operating-system restarts, internet outages, and accidental changes to the media or encoder settings in your recovery plan.

Know the archive limit

YouTube’s encoder help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a single continuous stream longer than 12 hours will be preserved in full. If a complete replay matters, do not rely on an archive of a 24/7 broadcast; plan a separate recording or a shorter broadcast schedule, and test the archive workflow you intend to use. See YouTube’s encoder livestream instructions on archiving.

Troubleshooting

Symptom Likely cause What to do
YouTube does not receive a signal Wrong server URL or stream key, encoder not started, or connection issue Compare the encoder’s ingest URL and key with the values in Live Control Room, then restart the encoder and check its connection status. Reset the key if it may have been exposed.
Preview is black, frozen, or missing audio The encoder is not sending the expected source, or the loop/playback workflow has stopped Check the selected video and audio inputs, restart playback, and confirm both are being sent to the encoder. Test the loop again while unlisted.
Stream-health warnings or dropped frames Upload capacity is unstable or the configured bitrate is too demanding for the connection Test upload capacity and lower the output bitrate or resolution until the connection can sustain the feed. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages during another unlisted test.
Image or sound jumps at each repeat The media files do not have seamless loop boundaries Adjust the edit or audio transition and test several repeats before going public.
Broadcast ends after an outage or restart The encoder, computer, power, or network did not resume sending the feed Restore the source and encoder, reconnect using the current stream settings, and verify the preview and stream health. Add monitoring and a tested recovery plan for future interruptions.
Expected replay is incomplete or unavailable The stream exceeded the documented automatic-archive condition, or the archive was not captured as expected Do not assume a stream longer than 12 hours will be archived in full. Use a separate recording or shorter scheduled broadcasts if preserving the replay is important.

Or let it run in the cloud

If you do not want a home computer or connection to carry the broadcast, StreamNeo keeps an uploaded video or playlist live on YouTube from the cloud. The setup is three steps: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live.

  • Nothing has to stay on at home for the stream to continue.
  • One flat price per slot covers the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps, with no re-encode or quality tiers.
  • Automatic recovery is included if YouTube drops the stream.
  • The first day is free with no card; one free day is available per account.
  • Monthly: $9.99 per month.

Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, and StreamNeo team support. The same features apply on every plan; only the billing length changes. It streams uploaded video to YouTube, not a live camera feed.
