You can run a Tamil devotional playlist as a continuous YouTube livestream by sending a prerecorded playlist through an encoder—software, dedicated hardware, or a cloud service. First verify that your channel can livestream and that you have the rights to every recording and visual; then configure the stream in YouTube Studio, check the preview, and monitor it after launch. YouTube supports encoder workflows and lists cloud tools for continuous prerecorded streams, but no setup guarantees uninterrupted operation indefinitely.
Before you start: channel access and music rights
Confirm livestream eligibility
Your YouTube channel must be verified and must not have had a livestreaming restriction in the previous 90 days. If you have never livestreamed, enable the feature ahead of time: first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Check the current requirements in YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Clear the rights for every part of the playlist
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use the live content, including music licensing rights. YouTube’s livestream terms say the content provider represents and warrants that it has the necessary rights for worldwide exploitation, including music licensing rights from artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants.
Do not assume a devotional song is free to rebroadcast because it is traditional, religious, or widely available online. Rights can differ between the underlying composition, a particular arrangement or performance, the sound recording, and accompanying video or artwork. Confirm that your permissions cover livestreaming and the territories where viewers may watch. If a rights owner has licensed the content, it may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license by itself may not prevent YouTube from interrupting a stream when a match is detected. YouTube explains its live-content matching and interruption process in its copyright guidance for live streams.

Choose how to send the playlist to YouTube
YouTube’s encoder workflow supports software encoders and standalone hardware encoders, and its encoder guidance also describes cloud tools for continuous 24/7 streams of prerecorded video. Choose based on whether you can keep local equipment powered and connected, what monitoring and recovery controls you need, and whether the specific service supports your playlist workflow. YouTube’s guidance does not establish comparative reliability, prices, or regional availability for providers.
- Software encoder: A computer runs the playback and encoding software. It can suit a do-it-yourself setup, but the computer, software, and internet connection must remain available for the stream to continue.
- Standalone hardware encoder: A dedicated device sends the stream. You still need to confirm that it can play or receive your prerecorded playlist in the way you intend; the encoder label alone does not guarantee playlist automation.
- Cloud streaming: A service runs the prerecorded stream remotely, so your home computer does not have to stay on. Check its current continuous-playback, recovery, regional-availability, and commercial terms before relying on it.
Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Prepare the playlist. Arrange the Tamil devotional recordings and any visuals in the playback order you want. Check that the audio is consistent and that every item is cleared for the intended use.
- Create a stream in YouTube Studio. Open the Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream using the encoder option. YouTube’s encoder setup guide covers the stream creation flow and the information an encoder needs.
- Copy the server URL and stream key. Enter both into the encoder’s YouTube destination settings. Treat the stream key like a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it or include it in screenshots.
- Set encoder output. Choose a resolution and frame rate your source and connection can sustain. Use an ingestion protocol and encoding settings YouTube supports; see the settings section below.
- Start playback and inspect the preview. Start the encoder’s output, then confirm that the Live Control Room preview shows the intended video and audible, correctly balanced audio. Check the public watch page before promoting it.
- Monitor the live feed. Watch stream health and audio/video quality, especially after launch or any change to the playlist or connection. If you use a backup encoder, test the failover procedure rather than assuming it will take over correctly.
Recommended stream settings
Use settings that match the source and a stable portion of your available upload bandwidth. YouTube’s encoder settings guidance lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS, with AAC or MP3 audio. It recommends constant bitrate encoding and a two-second keyframe interval; the interval should not exceed four seconds.

| Example output | YouTube’s H.264 bitrate recommendation | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps | Recommendation, not a guarantee of reliability; your sustained upload capacity must support the full feed. |
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps | Recommendation, not a guarantee of reliability; lower resolution may be more practical on a limited connection. |
Those figures are YouTube recommendations for the stated resolution and frame rate, not universal settings for every codec or connection. Consult YouTube’s table for the exact output you plan to send. YouTube recommends RTMPS, an encrypted extension of RTMP, for sending the feed to its servers. Test the selected settings before treating the stream as ready for continuous operation.
Keep a 24/7 stream dependable
- Plan for failures. A local stream depends on the computer or encoder, power, playback, and internet connection. Identify which parts can fail and how you will restart or switch to a backup; do not assume YouTube or an encoder will recover every interruption automatically.
- Check playback and audio. Listen for silence, abrupt transitions, clipping, or a playlist that stops after one pass. Confirm that the visual remains intentional throughout the loop.
- Review stream health. Use the Live Control Room preview and health indicators to catch a missing feed or degraded output. Recheck after changing the playlist, encoder, or network.
- Plan archives separately. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That does not establish that one uninterrupted stream running longer than 12 hours will produce a complete replay. If a complete archive matters, plan how to segment or restart the broadcast and verify the resulting recordings.

Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot start a livestream: Check that the channel is verified and has no livestreaming restriction in the last 90 days. If this is your first livestream, allow up to 24 hours for activation.
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Recheck the server URL and stream key in the encoder, confirm the encoder is sending to YouTube, and inspect the Live Control Room preview. If you regenerate or replace a key, update the encoder to match.
- The feed buffers or looks unstable: Check whether sustained upload capacity can support the selected bitrate. Reduce the output demand or improve the connection, then test again; a bitrate recommendation does not guarantee that your particular connection will hold it.
- The audio or video is interrupted by a copyright notice: Review the matched material and your permissions. If you have a license, ask the rights owner whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID; YouTube says a license alone may not stop matching interruptions.
- The stream stops when nobody is home: In a local setup, check power, computer sleep settings, encoder status, and internet availability. For a stream that should continue without a home computer, use a cloud workflow and verify the provider’s recovery behavior and terms.
- The replay is incomplete or missing: Check the stream duration and archive status. YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours, not a guaranteed complete archive of a longer continuous broadcast.
