A free scan shows the junk files, broken settings and background clutter dragging Windows down - then fixes them in one click.Free scan · Windows 10 & 11To loop one local mantra recording in OBS, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop. To rotate several recordings, add a VLC Video source, build a playlist, and enable Loop Playlist. For a YouTube broadcast, test the whole setup first, secure rights for the exact recording, and plan around YouTube’s warning that streams longer than 12 hours may not be archived.
Choose the right OBS source
| Source | Best for | Setting | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | One local audio or video file | Enable Loop | Simple setup, but plays one item at a time. |
| VLC Video | A rotation of local files | Enable Loop Playlist; optionally enable Shuffle Playlist | Playlist controls require VLC to be installed. |
OBS supports common local formats such as MP3, WAV, MP4, MKV, MOV, and WebM. The OBS guide covers source setup and loop controls in its Media Sources documentation. Do not assume playlist transitions are gap-free or that a particular setup will run continuously without interruption; test your actual files and OBS build.
Set up a single recording in OBS
- Create or select a scene. In OBS, use the Scenes dock to choose an existing scene or add one. Scenes and sources together make up the stream layout; see the OBS Sources Guide.
- Add the file. In the Sources dock, select +, choose Media Source, give it a recognizable name, and select Local File to browse to the recording.
- Enable looping. Turn on Loop in the source properties, then confirm the preview plays the right file.
- Check audio and visibility. Watch the OBS audio meter while playback runs. A Media Source can be configured to restart when it becomes active, so verify its behavior if you switch scenes or hide and show the source.
- Run a short test stream. Follow OBS’s Quick Start Guide to test settings and output before committing to a long broadcast.
Build a playlist for multiple recordings
- Install VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source depends on VLC being installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, use 64-bit VLC as well.
- Add the source. In the Sources dock, select +, choose VLC Video, and open its playlist controls.
- Add and order files. Add each local recording and arrange the sequence you want. Enable Loop Playlist to start again at the end; enable Shuffle Playlist only if you want playback order randomized.
- Check hidden-source behavior. VLC Video can stop when hidden and restart when visible. Test scene changes and visibility rather than relying on a hidden source to keep playing.
- Play through a full cycle. Confirm that each item has picture or audio as intended and that the change from one file to the next behaves acceptably. OBS documents the controls, but not seamless transitions for every playlist.
Configure the YouTube stream and test stability
YouTube is the example destination here; another platform can have different eligibility, archive, bitrate, and content rules. For YouTube Live, the channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the past 90 days, according to YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
Set the encoder output for your destination, resolution, frame rate, computer, and connection rather than copying a universal bitrate. OBS’s overview explains bitrate and reconnect settings. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity 20% above the total stream bitrate, including primary and backup streams where applicable; this is a headroom recommendation, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming. See YouTube’s streaming tips.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Use a reliable internet connection and leave the recommended upload headroom.
- Test the destination preview and a short live session; monitor both audio and video.
- Check OBS’s reconnect behavior and the stream after any network interruption.
- Test the actual computer, encoder, resolution, frame rate, and scene complexity. OBS warns that meeting its system requirements does not guarantee that a machine can stream every chosen configuration; see OBS system requirements.
OBS does not by itself guarantee 24/7 uptime. The result also depends on source behavior, platform acceptance, power, network continuity, and monitoring. There is no single hardware specification established for this simple playlist use case, so validate the machine and connection you intend to use.
Plan for YouTube’s archive limit
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; streams exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. This is current Google/YouTube Help guidance accessed on October 3, 2026, not a promise that every shorter stream will archive successfully. Read YouTube’s archive guidance.

If you need a complete archive, use shorter sessions or make and verify a local recording. YouTube recommends checking that the local archive file is growing; see its live-streaming tips. Do not assume a single 24-hour broadcast will leave you with a complete YouTube replay.
Confirm music rights before going live
A devotional subject does not make a recording free to rebroadcast. YouTube’s livestream terms require creators to have the necessary rights for live content, including music licensing rights. Confirm that permissions for the specific recording cover livestreaming and any archive you plan to make.

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace the picture with a placeholder, interrupt, or terminate a stream; even licensed content may require the rights owner to allowlist your channel through Content ID. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams. Owning a copy or crediting the artist does not, by itself, establish that you have broadcast rights.
Troubleshoot common failures
- The recording stops at the end. Open the source properties and confirm Loop is on for Media Source or Loop Playlist for VLC Video.
- VLC Video is missing. Install VLC and restart OBS. Match the VLC architecture to OBS; 64-bit OBS requires 64-bit VLC for this source.
- The source stops after a scene change. Check whether it is hidden and review its restart/stop-when-hidden behavior. Test the scene switch with the actual source properties.
- The stream has no sound. Check that the source is playing, watch the OBS audio meter, and verify the output and destination preview before going live.
- The stream drops or becomes unstable. Check connection reliability and available upload capacity against the total bitrate, including any backup stream. Run another test and monitor reconnection rather than assuming it recovered correctly.
- YouTube interrupts the broadcast. Review the platform’s copyright notice and confirm permissions and any required Content ID allowlisting for the exact recording.
- The replay is missing or incomplete. A stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured. Use shorter sessions or verify a local recording if the full archive matters.
