You can run a 24/7 Tibetan Buddhist mantra channel on YouTube by sending a continuous, prepared audio-and-visual program through YouTube Studio’s encoder workflow. The key steps are to enable live streaming, configure an encoder with the stream details YouTube provides, rehearse privately, and clear every recording for livestream use. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, so permission alone may not prevent an interruption if the rights owner has not allowlisted your channel through Content ID.
What you need before starting
- A YouTube channel that is verified, has no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, and is operated by someone at least 16 years old, according to YouTube’s current live-stream eligibility guidance: Get started with live streaming.
- A prepared mantra audio program and a visual to accompany it, such as a still image or designed scene. For a program with prepared media or overlays, YouTube’s encoder workflow is the relevant option.
- An encoder-capable computer and a stable internet connection if you operate the encoder locally. YouTube does not specify a universal minimum computer configuration; match the machine to your encoder software, output resolution and any overlays or additional video sources.
- Rights that explicitly cover continuous livestreaming of every recording and visual you use. If a rights owner uses Content ID, ask them to allowlist your channel as well.
YouTube for Artists recommends enabling live access at least 24 hours before the planned first broadcast. That is a recommendation, not a guarantee that access or other checks will be resolved within that time: Going Live for Music Channels.
Set up the channel and broadcast
- Enable and confirm live access. In YouTube Studio, follow the live-stream setup flow and confirm the channel can create a broadcast. Do this ahead of launch, rather than waiting until the day you want to go live.
- Create or schedule a stream in YouTube Studio. Choose the encoder option for a prepared, continuous program. YouTube provides the stream settings and ingestion details in Studio. Keep the stream key private: anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to your broadcast.
- Configure your encoder. Enter the server or ingestion address and stream key supplied by YouTube into the encoder. The specific controls depend on the encoder you choose. YouTube’s Live Streaming API distinguishes the stream (the incoming feed) from the broadcast (the viewer-facing event) and documents ingestion options including DASH, HLS and RTMP, including RTMPS. Follow the protocol and settings actually shown for your stream; do not substitute an address or key from another broadcast. See the LiveStreams API reference and RTMPS ingestion guide.
- Load the mantra program and visual. Set the encoder to play the prepared audio and visual continuously. Check that the audio does not cut off at file boundaries, that the visual is intentional for the full duration, and that any overlays remain readable. The exact encoder controls and computer requirements vary by software and production design.
- Start with an unlisted rehearsal. Before making the channel public, check the picture, audio level, transitions, connection stability and rights status in an unlisted broadcast. YouTube for Artists specifically recommends an unlisted test for high-production or high-investment events.
- Launch publicly and monitor it. Once the rehearsal and rights checks pass, set the broadcast visibility and start the encoder. For a continuous operation, arrange a way to notice a failed feed and restart it. A local encoder can stop if the computer, power, network or software fails; YouTube’s setup guidance does not promise that one broadcast will remain live indefinitely.
Clear the recordings before you stream
Do not assume that a recording is safe to use because it is called royalty-free, is publicly available, or was purchased. Confirm that the license covers YouTube livestreaming, continuous or repeated playback, and any associated visual material. Keep written permission and licensing records accessible.
YouTube states: “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If a match remains, the stream may be interrupted or terminated. YouTube also warns: “If your channel isn’t added to their allowlist, your live stream can be interrupted even if you’ve licensed the third-party content.” Ask the relevant artist, label, distributor or other rights owner to confirm whether Content ID is used and, if so, to add your channel to its allowlist. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If you archive the broadcast, note that YouTube says Content ID claims are made after the live stream ends. Archiving therefore does not replace clearance before going live.
Plan for continuity, not a platform guarantee
A 24/7 channel is an operational goal, not a YouTube promise that a single broadcast will stay live without interruption. With a locally run encoder, someone must be able to respond when the computer, power, internet connection or encoder fails. Keep the program files and configuration backed up, protect the stream key, and decide who will check the stream and restart it if needed.

You can run the encoder on a machine dedicated to streaming, but that is optional rather than a YouTube requirement. A hosted encoder is another operational approach: the provider maintains the running environment, while you still need to configure the feed, control access and check what recovery and monitoring it offers. The trade-offs are who maintains the machine, how you recover a failed stream, dependence on a reliable connection to the service, control over files and configuration, and ongoing cost. YouTube does not endorse a particular 24/7 hosting service or guarantee its uptime.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. It supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, with automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The Monthly price is $9.99 per month. It streams to YouTube only and plays uploaded videos rather than going live from a camera. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.

Common problems and fixes
- You cannot create a live stream: confirm verification, age eligibility and whether a live-stream restriction is active. Allow time for access to be enabled; YouTube for Artists recommends doing so at least 24 hours before the planned broadcast.
- The encoder does not connect: compare its ingestion address and stream key with the details for the selected broadcast in YouTube Studio. Check that the encoder is using the indicated protocol and that the key has not been replaced or copied incorrectly.
- The stream stops unexpectedly: check the computer, power, network and encoder process if running locally. Set up monitoring and a recovery plan; a continuous-stream goal does not eliminate local or connection failures.
- YouTube interrupts the stream for a content match: stop and resolve the rights issue rather than repeatedly restarting. Confirm that the license covers the use and ask the rights owner to allowlist the channel if Content ID applies.
- The audio or visual is wrong: review the unlisted test from a viewer’s perspective, including transitions and file boundaries, then correct the encoder or source media before going public.
FAQ
Can I use a recording I have permission to stream?
Possibly, if the permission covers this specific livestream use. If the owner uses Content ID, YouTube says the stream can still be interrupted unless your channel is allowlisted.
Does one YouTube broadcast automatically stay live forever?
No such guarantee is stated in YouTube’s cited setup guidance. Treat 24/7 operation as a continuity plan you must operate and monitor, or use a suitable hosted approach.
