You can stream a continuous playlist from a Jio Cloud virtual machine only by sending YouTube a live audio/video feed from an encoder—not by treating YouTube as a player running on the VM. YouTube documents how to connect an encoder to a Live event, but the available JioCloud material does not establish a supported, tested 24/7 playlist setup or confirm current VM specifications. This guide shows the documented YouTube side, explains what you must verify with JioCloud, and separates licensed rebroadcasting from automated viewing.
First, clarify what “stream a YouTube playlist” means
If you mean broadcasting videos you own or are licensed to use as a YouTube Live stream, the documented approach is to run an encoder that sends a live feed to a YouTube Live event. You configure the event, then give the encoder YouTube’s server URL and stream key. The encoder transmits audio and video; it is not simply opening a YouTube playlist as a viewer.
If you mean automatically playing existing YouTube videos in a background player on a VM, do not assume YouTube supports that as a way to create a continuous live stream. YouTube’s developer policies prohibit API-client features that play content from a background player and prohibit automated actions such as views without prior specific and express user consent. They also prohibit API clients from downloading, importing, backing up, caching, or storing audiovisual content without prior written approval. Do not extract YouTube videos to build a VM playlist or automate viewing to inflate views. See YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
What JioCloud does—and what is not established
JioCloud consumer terms describe JioAICloud as a portal and mobile app for cloud file hosting, including storage, synchronization, streaming, and sharing. That does not establish the details of an enterprise virtual machine. A JioCloud enterprise block-storage datasheet describes volumes that can attach to Linux and Windows VMs, but it does not establish which storage is bundled with a VM or whether it suits your media library. See the JioCloud service information and the JioCloud business services information.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The sources available do not confirm current JioCloud VM instance types, regions, operating-system images, network throughput, public IP setup, outbound-data charges, uptime commitments, or automatic process recovery. Check your JioCloud console and current provider documentation for each of these before choosing a VM or estimating cost. A VM’s advertised port speed is not proof of sustained upload bandwidth.
Before you configure the stream
- Rights: Use recordings you own or have permission to broadcast. A video being available on YouTube does not grant permission to rebroadcast it.
- Channel eligibility: YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.
- VM capacity and network: Confirm CPU capacity for the encoder, persistent storage for source media, a stable outbound connection, and any applicable egress costs with JioCloud. The available JioCloud information does not establish particular values for these.
- Repeat behavior: Confirm that your encoder can play and repeat the media you are authorized to use, and that it can restart after an interruption. The cited YouTube guidance does not prescribe a playlist player, a JioCloud restart policy, or a continuous-playback configuration.
How to connect a VM-hosted encoder to YouTube Live
- Prepare the VM and media. Provision a JioCloud VM and storage through the current options in your account. Install an encoder compatible with the VM’s operating system, and place your original, licensed media where the encoder can read it. No particular VM size or encoder installation command is established by the available JioCloud documentation, so use the current provider and encoder instructions for your environment.
- Set up a YouTube Live event. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream. Complete any channel verification or first-time activation before the planned start; activation can take up to 24 hours. YouTube’s encoder workflow is documented at Set up your encoder for live streaming.
- Copy the connection details into the encoder. Copy the stream server URL and stream key from the Live Control Room into the encoder’s streaming output settings. Use RTMPS where supported; YouTube recommends the encrypted RTMPS option. Treat the stream key as a password: do not put it in public scripts, logs, screenshots, or shared configuration. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio.
- Choose a supported encoding configuration. YouTube’s current encoder guidance lists H.264, H.265, or AV1; up to 60 fps; constant bitrate (CBR); a recommended two-second keyframe interval; and a maximum keyframe interval of four seconds. Pick resolution and bitrate from YouTube’s current settings guidance and within the VM’s reliable sustained upload capacity. Do not select a bitrate solely because the VM advertises a high network port speed. Check the current YouTube live encoder settings for the recommended bitrate by resolution and frame rate.
- Allow network headroom. YouTube recommends about 20% more upload bandwidth than the total stream bitrate. If you send primary and backup feeds, include both in the total. This is a YouTube recommendation, not a guarantee that a JioCloud VM will sustain the rate; network disruption can still break a stream. See YouTube’s bandwidth guidance.
- Test before going public. Send representative footage with the same resolution, frame rate, audio, and bitrate you intend to use. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and correct any reported issues before publishing. YouTube explicitly advises testing before starting a live stream.
- Start the encoder and monitor the event. Start the encoder’s output, confirm that YouTube receives the feed, then start or schedule the event as appropriate in Live Control Room. Monitor stream health and the VM’s process and network status during the broadcast; the available sources do not establish JioCloud-specific alerting or automatic restart behavior.
Can it really run continuously?
The documented encoder workflow explains how to send a live feed; it does not promise uninterrupted 24/7 operation from a VM. A continuous broadcast depends on the VM remaining available, the encoder continuing to run, the media repeating as intended, network capacity, and YouTube accepting the feed. You must verify the relevant availability, recovery, and billing details with JioCloud and configure and monitor the encoder accordingly.

YouTube’s encoder guidance says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. That statement is not proof that longer streams are impossible, nor does it establish that a stream will run indefinitely. Decide how you will handle event duration and archives using YouTube’s current guidance; see YouTube’s live stream archiving information.
Common problems and what to check
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Check that the encoder is using the event’s current server URL and stream key, that its output is started, and that outbound connectivity is available. Reset the stream key if it may have been exposed.
- Unstable or unhealthy feed: Compare the configured bitrate with actual sustained VM upload capacity, reduce the bitrate or resolution if needed, and preserve YouTube’s recommended headroom. Check encoder output and Live Control Room health messages.
- Live streaming is unavailable: Confirm channel verification, check for live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days, and allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- The stream stops after running for a while: Check VM availability, encoder process status, network interruptions, event duration, and YouTube’s stream-health messages. The available sources do not establish an automatic recovery setting specific to JioCloud.
- Playlist content will not play or repeat: Check the encoder’s own media-playback and repeat settings and verify that the source files are present and accessible. These settings are encoder-specific; the YouTube encoder guide does not define them.
