You can run a looping yoga nidra broadcast from a Mumbai-based Linux VPS by sending a paced FFmpeg encoder feed to YouTube Live. Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, use the RTMPS server URL and stream key shown there, and verify the incoming preview and stream health before relying on the broadcast. A Mumbai server is optional: its location alone does not guarantee a reliable route to YouTube.
What you need before starting
- A Linux VPS with enough resources and sustained outbound network capacity for your media and encoding approach. There is no universally sufficient VPS size: source resolution, codec, re-encoding needs and the provider’s network performance all matter.
- FFmpeg installed on the VPS and a compatible, rights-cleared video file or playlist.
- A YouTube channel eligible to go live, with access to YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room.
- The YouTube stream server URL and stream key. Treat the key as a password: anyone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your channel.
YouTube says first-time live activation may take up to 24 hours, so complete channel setup well before the planned broadcast. YouTube’s encoder setup guidance describes the live workflow.
Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Create > Go live to open Live Control Room.
- Create or schedule a stream using the encoder workflow. Copy the server URL and stream key displayed for that stream.
- When the encoder supports it, use the RTMPS URL shown in Live Control Room. RTMPS is RTMP carried over TLS/SSL; YouTube documents port 443 for RTMPS ingestion. YouTube’s RTMPS ingestion documentation explains the connection.
- Store the key in a protected configuration or environment variable, not in a public script, screenshot, shared log or repository. Avoid pasting it into commands that may remain visible in shell history or process listings.
Prepare and loop the playlist with FFmpeg
Check the media and build the playlist
First inspect the files and confirm the intended order, duration, audio and video formats. Test the entire sequence—including the transition from its final item back to the first—before broadcasting. FFmpeg options and encoding settings depend on the file and the FFmpeg build on your VPS; do not assume that every source can be passed through unchanged.
For multiple files, create an FFmpeg concat-demuxer list such as playlist.txt, with one file entry per line:

file '/path/to/track-02.mp4'Use paths and escaping appropriate to your filenames. The concat demuxer works best when the files have matching stream structures and compatible codecs and parameters. If they do not, prepare a compatible combined source or use an encoding workflow suited to the actual inputs.
Start a single-file loop
For a file that YouTube accepts as-is, a basic real-time loop can be launched like this, replacing the placeholders with your own values:

-c:v copy -c:a copy -f flv
"RTMPS_SERVER_URL/STREAM_KEY"-stream_loop -1 tells FFmpeg to loop the input indefinitely. -re reads the input at its native frame rate, pacing output in real time. FFmpeg documents this pacing for cases where packet timing matters, including live streaming. See the FFmpeg manual.
The example uses stream copy, which is not suitable for every file. If the source format, codec, timestamps or stream parameters are unsuitable for the YouTube ingest, configure an appropriate video and audio encode instead. Do not add arbitrary bitrate, resolution or keyframe values without checking the media and YouTube’s current encoder requirements. Verify the resulting feed in Live Control Room before making it public.

Loop a concat playlist
For a compatible playlist, FFmpeg can loop the concat input:

Run a private or otherwise controlled end-to-end test long enough to confirm that playback reaches the end, returns to the beginning cleanly, and remains healthy in YouTube’s preview.

Start the broadcast and check it
- Start FFmpeg in a persistent terminal session or under a process supervisor so an SSH disconnect does not inadvertently stop the encoder.
- In Live Control Room, wait for the incoming preview and inspect stream health. Confirm that video and audio are present, playback is paced correctly, and the loop behaves as expected.
- Start or schedule the public broadcast in YouTube Studio only after the incoming feed is verified.
- Monitor the process and Live Control Room. A VPS does not by itself restart FFmpeg after a crash or repair a failed ingest; configure and test your own restart and alerting approach.
Plan for replays and long broadcasts
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If a replay archive matters, end and restart the broadcast before it reaches that threshold, and keep a separate copy of the source media. See YouTube Help on live stream archives.

Confirm that you have rights for the full intended use of the yoga nidra recording, narration, music and every other included element. YouTube scans live streams for third-party matches. A match may replace the picture with a placeholder and interrupt or terminate the broadcast. A license does not necessarily prevent an interruption: YouTube says the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Review YouTube’s live stream copyright guidance and resolve any allowlisting requirements with the rights holder before going live.

Why use a Mumbai VPS—and what it does not guarantee
A Mumbai VPS can keep the encoder process running in a data centre rather than on a home computer. But the server’s city does not prove that its route to YouTube’s ingestion endpoint is good, or that outbound delivery will remain uninterrupted. No particular Mumbai provider, price or sustained upload performance is established here, so compare providers using their current network terms and test the actual route with your intended feed before committing.
Self-hosting gives you control over the operating system, FFmpeg process and recovery configuration, but you are responsible for compatibility checks, monitoring, restarts and network issues. Size the VPS based on whether you copy or re-encode the media and on measured, sustained network performance—not just a provider’s location label.

Troubleshooting
- YouTube shows no incoming preview: Check that FFmpeg is still running, the RTMPS server URL and stream key are copied correctly, and outbound connections are allowed. Confirm the selected URL and key in Live Control Room.
- The feed arrives but playback stutters or falls behind: Check whether the VPS can sustain the required outbound traffic and whether encoding is overloading it. A Mumbai location is not evidence of a reliable route; test the actual provider and feed.
- FFmpeg reports input or stream errors: Confirm file paths, permissions, playlist syntax and media compatibility. If stream copy is unsuitable, use a compatible encode and retest the complete loop.
- The video or audio changes unexpectedly at a playlist boundary: Check that every playlist item has compatible stream structure and parameters. Rebuild or encode the playlist into a consistent format, then test across the boundary before public streaming.
- The stream stops after a process or connection failure: Check FFmpeg and VPS logs, restore the process, and verify the preview again. A self-managed VPS requires you to implement and test restart behavior; it does not guarantee automatic recovery.
- YouTube interrupts the live picture with a rights warning: Identify the matched element and resolve the rights issue. If the content is licensed, ask the rights holder whether your channel must be allowlisted in Content ID.
