You can stream a Marathi devotional video playlist to YouTube from a VPS by creating an encoder stream in YouTube Studio, then running software on the VPS to send the playlist’s audio and video to YouTube over RTMPS. First confirm that your channel can livestream and that you have the rights to broadcast every recording and video. Test the feed in YouTube’s Live Control Room before scheduling the public stream.

Before you start: channel access and rights

Confirm live-stream eligibility

YouTube requires the channel to be verified, the streamer to be at least 16, and the channel to have no live-streaming restrictions in the preceding 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance.

Clear the rights for every item

Being devotional, traditional, or widely shared does not by itself establish that a recording or video can be rebroadcast. A playlist may include compositions, arrangements, sound recordings, performances, and video with different rights holders and territorial permissions. YouTube’s terms place the responsibility on the content provider to have the necessary rights for live content, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other participants: YouTube Terms of Service. Keep copies of applicable licenses or permissions and check that they cover livestreaming, your intended territories, and the full broadcast. The status of any particular bhajan, abhang, kirtan, album, film song, or video cannot be assumed without checking its rights.

Create an encoder stream in YouTube Studio

  1. Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room. Create or schedule a stream and choose the encoder workflow. YouTube’s setup instructions are at Create a live stream with an encoder.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the stream. The URL is the destination and the key identifies your stream; treat the key like a password. Do not put it in a public repository, public log, or public support request. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio and update the VPS encoder configuration.
  3. Use the stream’s preview and visibility settings to run a controlled test before the intended broadcast. An unlisted test can help you check playback without making the stream public.

Configure the VPS encoder

Choose an ingestion protocol and encoding settings

For a conventional playlist broadcast, RTMPS is the sensible starting point: YouTube recommends it for ordinary live content and documents the secure endpoint and port 443 in its RTMPS ingestion guide. Configure the encoder with the exact secure ingest URL and stream key from Live Control Room. Do not substitute a guessed endpoint.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

YouTube’s encoder settings guidance lists H.264, H.265, or AV1 for video and AAC or MP3 for audio, and recommends constant bitrate and a two-second keyframe interval. Match the output resolution and bitrate to both the source and what the VPS can sustain continuously. YouTube lists 2 Mbps as its recommended video bitrate for 720p at 30 fps; this is a video target, not a complete VPS bandwidth requirement. Allow additional capacity for audio and network overhead, then test the actual feed and connection.

Make the playlist a continuous audio/video feed

Run an encoder on the VPS that can read your media playlist, produce a continuous feed, and send it to YouTube’s RTMPS destination. FFmpeg is one possible implementation, but the YouTube guidance does not prescribe a particular encoder, command, VPS operating system, playlist format, or restart method. These depend on the files and server setup, so validate them on your own deployment rather than treating a generic command as guaranteed.

For a long-running stream, also plan how the encoder process will be supervised and restarted if it exits, how the VPS will be monitored, and how you will notice a network interruption. A playlist that works once is not proof that looping and recovery will behave as you intend over a long broadcast.

Check the VPS connection, not just the nominal plan speed

The sources do not establish a universal minimum VPS specification or a recommended provider. Evaluate sustained upload capacity and data allowance, the route from the VPS region to YouTube’s ingestion service, and whether the server can run the encoder continuously. Test the chosen resolution and bitrate under the conditions you expect to use; account for audio and protocol overhead rather than sizing only to the video bitrate.

Test, start, and monitor the broadcast

  1. Start the encoder with the test stream’s URL and key. In Live Control Room, confirm that YouTube receives the feed and that the preview shows both picture and sound.
  2. Check YouTube’s stream-health messages and watch playback on the devices your audience is likely to use. Look for missing audio, frozen or degraded video, and buffering rather than relying only on the encoder’s local status.
  3. Leave the test running long enough to exercise the playlist transition or loop behavior you plan to use. Confirm that the encoder continues sending after a video ends and that the output remains stable.
  4. After the test is satisfactory, schedule or start the intended stream. Monitor both the VPS process and network and YouTube’s stream-health feedback during the broadcast. YouTube recommends testing in advance and monitoring stream quality; see YouTube’s live-streaming troubleshooting guidance.

When RTMPS is not the right fit

YouTube also supports HLS ingestion for certain cases, including HDR or codecs not supported by RTMP. Its HLS workflow uses an HTTPS URL and an HLS media-playlist workflow, and generally has higher latency than RTMP-based ingestion; see YouTube’s HLS ingestion guide. Choose based on encoder compatibility, latency, codec or HDR needs, and operational complexity. A local playlist file used by an encoder is not the same thing as YouTube’s HLS ingestion protocol: naming a source playlist “M3U” does not mean the stream should be sent to YouTube as HLS.

Troubleshoot common failures

  • You cannot start a stream: Check channel verification, age eligibility, any current live-stream restriction, and whether initial activation is still pending. First activation may take up to 24 hours.
  • YouTube does not receive the feed: Recheck that the encoder uses the exact URL and key for the selected stream and that RTMPS is configured for the secure endpoint and port 443. If the key was exposed, reset it and replace the old value on the VPS.
  • The preview appears without sound or picture: Check the source files, selected audio/video streams, and encoder output. Confirm the codecs are among those YouTube lists and inspect the preview rather than assuming that a running encoder means valid output.
  • The stream buffers or stream health degrades: Test at a sustainable output bitrate and resolution, include audio and network overhead in capacity planning, and check sustained VPS upload performance and the route to YouTube. A plan’s advertised speed alone does not demonstrate that the path is stable for continuous streaming.
  • The playlist stops at the end of a file or the encoder exits: Verify playlist and loop behavior with a long test, then configure process supervision and alerts appropriate to your VPS. The exact restart setup depends on the operating system and encoder; YouTube’s cited setup pages do not provide a universal service configuration.
  • A stream is interrupted over a rights claim or restriction: Recheck the permission for each composition, recording, and video, including territorial and livestream rights. Do not assume devotional content or an old composition makes a modern recording free to rebroadcast.
