PRISM Live Studio Mobile supports adding a video from your phone’s gallery to My Studio or using a video playlist as a playback source in a YouTube live setup. The official guide confirms those capabilities, but does not document a current, tap-by-tap sequence or specify supported file formats and duration limits. Choose a single video or a playlist
PRISM documents two ways to prepare prerecorded video for a live setup: add a video media item from your phone’s photo gallery to My Studio, or create and select a video playlist. Use a single item if you want to play one video; choose a playlist if you need a sequence. Prepare and start the YouTube broadcast
- Make the video available on your phone. Confirm the intended video is accessible in the device’s photo gallery. PRISM’s guide describes retrieving media videos from the gallery and adding them to My Studio.
- Add the playback source in My Studio. In PRISM Live Studio Mobile, use My Studio to add the gallery video or create/select a video playlist. The documented guide confirms these capabilities, but not the exact current labels or sequence of taps; follow the controls shown in your installed app.
- Use one playback feature type. PRISM lists video, music, music playlist, video playlist and image playlist as playback features that cannot be combined. For this setup, select either a video item or a video playlist, not multiple playback feature types. PRISM Source Usage Limit Guide
- Prepare the live details and settings. PRISM’s general flow is to choose a live mode, enter stream details and settings, then press Go Live. Before starting, check the preview so you can confirm that the intended video and its audio are playing; this is a practical verification step, not a documented guarantee about playback.
- Start the live stream. When the source and stream details are ready, start the broadcast using PRISM’s live controls. Monitor YouTube’s live dashboard for the stream’s status.
If you scheduled the YouTube stream
When creating a scheduled YouTube stream for use with PRISM, choose YouTube’s Streaming software setup, then select the scheduled item in PRISM. PRISM says the YouTube Webcam workflow is unsupported for starting a scheduled stream through the app; that workflow is intended for use from YouTube’s dashboard. Check rights before you broadcast
YouTube says, “All live streams are scanned for matches to third-party content, including copyrighted content in the form of another live broadcast.” If it detects a match, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder and warn you to stop streaming the third-party content; if it continues, the stream may be temporarily interrupted or terminated. Use video and audio for which your channel has the necessary live-stream rights. YouTube also advises that if content is licensed, the rights holder should add your channel to its Content ID allowlist; without that, a licensed stream can still be interrupted. Troubleshooting
- A scheduled stream will not start from PRISM: Check whether it was created using YouTube’s Streaming software path rather than Webcam, then select the scheduled stream in PRISM.
- The video source cannot be combined with another playback feature: PRISM’s source guide limits playback to one feature type at a time. Remove the other playback feature and use either the video item or video playlist.
- YouTube or PRISM will not start the stream: Check the YouTube Live Dashboard for channel eligibility and stream status, and confirm the selected stream type. PRISM’s troubleshooting page describes a possible 24-hour wait after channel verification and a 50-subscriber restriction affecting third-party stream creation through YouTube’s API in some circumstances.
