To stream bhajans continuously on YouTube Live, send a video-and-audio feed from an encoder or a cloud streaming service. YouTube’s playlist Loop button only repeats playback for a viewer; it does not create or transmit a live broadcast. For a do-it-yourself setup, verify live access, prepare music you have rights to use, configure an encoder, and test the stream before going live.
What a YouTube playlist loop does—and does not do
YouTube’s Loop control repeats a playlist while someone watches it. It does not turn those videos into a live event. A live broadcast requires a separate feed sent to YouTube Live through an encoder or another supported streaming workflow. YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes software and hardware encoder options.
Before you begin: channel access and music rights
Confirm that the channel can livestream
Your channel must be verified and must not have livestreaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. YouTube says first-time livestream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable and check access well before the planned broadcast. See YouTube’s livestreaming eligibility instructions.
Clear the recordings and compositions
You are responsible for having the rights needed to use every part of the live content. YouTube’s livestream terms state that providers must have “all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world,” including music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. This is YouTube’s contractual language, not a legal determination about a particular bhajan or territory.

Do not assume that devotional, traditional, or widely circulated music is automatically free to use. Check rights for both the composition and the specific recording, and confirm that permission covers livestreaming, any saved archive, and the territories where the stream will be available. Keep records of permissions. YouTube scans livestreams for third-party matches; a match can replace the broadcast with a placeholder image, and continued use may lead to interruption or termination. If you have licensed third-party content, YouTube says to ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Details are in YouTube’s Content ID guidance for live streams.
Set up a do-it-yourself bhajan livestream
1. Prepare the material and the visual
Arrange the recordings in the order you want them heard, and prepare the video feed that will accompany them—for example, a permitted still image or visual sequence. Make sure you have rights to the audio and visuals for the live use and any archive. Plan the intended duration: a long broadcast still needs an encoder to keep transmitting, and a playlist on YouTube does not replace that feed.

2. Choose and configure an encoder
YouTube supports software encoders running on a computer as well as standalone hardware encoders. OBS is one software option surfaced by YouTube’s help material. You do not need to buy expensive equipment simply to get started; choose a setup that can send your intended feed reliably for the planned duration, has the connections you need, and can be monitored by someone during the event.
In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and follow the encoder setup flow to obtain the stream connection details. Enter those details in your encoder, load the prepared audio and visuals, and start sending the feed. Exact controls vary by encoder, so use the settings and instructions for the encoder version you install rather than relying on a generic menu path.

3. Preview, test, and go live
Before the public broadcast, send a test feed and inspect it in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room preview. Check that the audio is present, at a suitable level, and synchronized with the visuals; confirm that the image is stable; and monitor the network while the encoder is transmitting. YouTube recommends testing, checking the preview, and keeping upload bandwidth in reserve. Its streaming tips say total stream bitrate should not exceed available upload bandwidth and recommend leaving 20% headroom.
Once the preview and test are satisfactory, start the live event in Studio and continue monitoring the encoder, audio, video, and connection. A computer-based encoder must remain on and connected throughout a DIY broadcast.

Plan for a long or continuous broadcast
Keeping a feed live and letting viewers rewind are separate issues. YouTube warns that DVR may be limited or unavailable for livestreams longer than 12 hours. Do not promise that viewers can rewind through the entire broadcast; see YouTube’s DVR guidance. The reviewed YouTube setup guidance describes encoder-fed streams; it does not establish that YouTube will automatically turn a creator’s playlist into a continuous live feed.

- Livestreaming is unavailable: Check channel verification and whether the channel has a livestreaming restriction from the previous 90 days. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- The Studio preview is blank or has no sound: Confirm that the encoder is sending the intended video and audio sources, that its stream connection details match the event, and that the feed appears in the Live Control Room preview before going public.
- The stream buffers or loses quality: Check the available upload bandwidth and encoder bitrate. Keep total stream bitrate below available upload capacity and leave the 20% headroom YouTube recommends; test again while monitoring the preview.
- The stream is interrupted after a music match: Review the matched material and your permissions. If the content is licensed, ask the rights owner about adding your channel to its Content ID allowlist; a license alone does not guarantee that YouTube’s automated match will not interrupt the stream.
- Viewers cannot rewind the whole event: For streams longer than 12 hours, YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable. This is a platform DVR limitation, not necessarily a failure of the encoder to keep sending the live feed.
