You can keep a Marathi bhajan video stream live on YouTube around the clock by sending a prepared, rights-cleared feed from a cloud encoder to YouTube Live. The cloud machine handles playback and encoding; YouTube receives the feed and presents it as a live broadcast. You still need to clear the actual recordings and visuals, configure a compatible connection, monitor stream health, and make a separate recording plan for a broadcast that runs longer than YouTube’s stated archiving window.

Before streaming: clear the bhajan recording and video

Devotional subject matter does not by itself grant permission to rebroadcast a bhajan. Rights may differ for the composition, a particular singer’s performance, the sound recording, and the video or images used with it. Being available online, traditional in character, or labeled “royalty-free” is not proof that a particular recording is cleared for a 24/7 YouTube Live broadcast, archive, and intended territories.

Use material you created or have permission to use for this specific live-streaming purpose. Keep documentation of the permission and confirm its territory, duration, and archive terms. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. If a match is identified, YouTube may replace the stream with a placeholder, warn you to stop using the material, or temporarily interrupt or terminate the stream. A strike or Community Guidelines issue can also end a broadcast.

A license alone may not prevent interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube Help advises: “If you’ve licensed third-party content to use in your stream, ask the owner of the content to add your channel to their allowlist through Content ID.” If your stream is archived, YouTube says Content ID claims on the archived livestream are made after the stream ends. See YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

How the cloud-to-YouTube workflow works

The cloud encoder plays and sends the video and audio feed; it is not the viewer-facing event itself. In YouTube’s API terminology, a liveStream represents the incoming feed, while a liveBroadcast represents the event viewers see. The broadcast is associated with a feed, and YouTube provides the ingestion endpoint and stream name for the configured stream resource. The encoder connects to that ingestion destination using a supported protocol and stream key or equivalent credentials.

The cloud avoids depending on a home computer staying powered on, but the stream still depends on the hosted machine or service, its configuration, its outbound network connection, and YouTube’s reception. Choose an encoder and protocol that both sides support; settings for one protocol should not be assumed to apply unchanged to another.

Set up the YouTube broadcast and test it

  1. Enable live access. Sign in to the channel and verify that it is eligible to go live. YouTube’s live-production guidance says first-time live enablement can take 24 hours, so do this ahead of the planned launch rather than on the day. Consult YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance.
  2. Create the event in YouTube Studio. Create or schedule the broadcast, set its title, audience and visibility, then configure the associated stream. For a first test, choose private or unlisted visibility as appropriate to your channel workflow.
  3. Configure the feed and credentials. Select an ingestion protocol supported by both the encoder and the YouTube stream configuration. Copy the endpoint and stream key or configure the corresponding API stream resource. Treat the key as a password: keep it out of public documents and rotate it if it is exposed.
  4. Prepare the cloud encoder. Add the authorized bhajan video or playlist, choose the output format required by the selected protocol, and enter YouTube’s ingestion details. Confirm that audio is present, the intended video is playing, and the encoder is sending data.
  5. Verify reception before public launch. Start the encoder and check YouTube’s stream health and preview/status indicators. In the API lifecycle, Google says to verify that status.streamStatus is active to confirm YouTube is receiving encoder data. Only then switch to or schedule the intended public event.

See the YouTube Live API lifecycle and Live API overview for the distinction between feed and broadcast, and the liveStream resource reference for ingestion configuration and status information.

Choose a compatible ingestion protocol

YouTube’s live-stream resource documentation lists RTMP (including RTMPS), DASH, and HLS as possible ingestion protocols. Availability and configuration depend on the encoder and stream resource you use; confirm both sides agree before launching.

HLS-specific requirements

HLS has format constraints that should not be generalized to RTMP or DASH. Google’s HLS documentation specifies muxed M2TS segments, H.264 or HEVC video, AAC audio with a single audio track, and closed GOPs. It supports frame rates up to 60 fps. The documented media segments are 1–4 seconds long, and YouTube characterizes HLS as higher latency than other ingestion options. Those segment lengths are not a promise of end-to-end viewer latency.

Review the current YouTube HLS ingestion requirements and match the encoder’s output to them. If you use a different protocol, follow that protocol’s current requirements instead of applying HLS settings indiscriminately.

Keep a 24/7 stream healthy

Monitor both ends

  • Check the encoder’s connection state, output logs, playback position, and audio meters. Confirm the source playlist advances or loops as intended.
  • Check YouTube Studio’s stream health and preview, and verify the feed remains active. For API-based monitoring, the stream resource exposes status and health information.
  • Watch for connection warnings and dropped frames. OBS’s help guidance says an increasing dropped-frame count together with a yellow or red connection indicator means the connection to the streaming service is unstable or cannot keep up with the configured bitrate. OBS sends directly to the destination service, not through OBS-operated servers. See OBS’s dropped-frames and connection troubleshooting.

Plan for restarts and archives

Around-the-clock operation needs a recovery procedure: know how to restart the encoder, confirm it reconnects with the correct key and event, and check YouTube reception after a restart. Automatic recovery is not a substitute for monitoring or for resolving a rights interruption.

YouTube’s reviewed live-production guidance says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived and recommends recording streams longer than that separately. A 24-hour broadcast exceeds that stated threshold, so do not rely on the automatic archive as your only copy. Arrange a separate recording workflow and verify that it has enough storage and is actually capturing before leaving the stream unattended. These archive limits can change; check YouTube’s live streaming archive guidance before relying on it.

Choose where the encoder runs

Approach What it changes What still needs attention
Cloud VM or hosted encoder The feed is produced away from your home machine, so that machine does not need to remain on. Provider-specific compute, outbound data costs, regions, reliability, configuration, and monitoring vary; verify them with the provider before choosing.
Local always-on computer The encoder runs on hardware at your location. The machine, power, and internet connection must remain available, and local interruptions can stop the feed.

No universal VM size, region, bitrate, provider price, or uninterrupted-service guarantee follows from the workflow alone. Check current provider terms and costs, then test the actual encoder-to-YouTube path before committing to an unattended schedule.

Or let it run in the cloud

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the upload from the cloud, so a computer at home does not have to stay on. Each slot streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, includes 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, playlists, 24/7 looping, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account; plans are available by day, week, month, six months, or year, and can be cancelled any time. UPI and cards are available in India, with card checkout worldwide. It streams uploaded videos to YouTube, not camera footage.

Use it only with recordings and visuals you are authorized to stream, and still check YouTube’s rights and archive requirements. StreamNeo does not remove the need for permissions, Content ID allowlisting where applicable, or a separate archive plan for a broadcast beyond YouTube’s stated automatic-archive guidance.

Monthly plan: $9.99 per month. Learn more at StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
