To stream a recorded commercial property tour continuously on YouTube Live, send the video to YouTube through an encoder such as OBS or a cloud playout service. YouTube Studio supplies the stream URL and key; the video file or playlist does not become a live broadcast just because it is uploaded to YouTube. For an India-based property owner, broker, or marketing team, the practical choices are OBS on a computer, cloud playout such as StreamNeo, or dedicated hardware. Before going live, confirm channel access and content permissions, test the stream, and decide how you will handle a session longer than 12 hours.

How do I stream a prerecorded video on YouTube Live?

You need an enabled YouTube channel and an encoder that sends the recorded video feed to YouTube Live. The encoder can run on your own computer or in the cloud. YouTube Studio provides the stream URL and stream key that connect it to your channel.

Check channel access and permissions

  1. Enable live streaming in advance. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do not wait until the planned broadcast time.
  2. Clear the material you will broadcast. Confirm that you have rights to the tour footage, music, graphics, and other recorded content. For commercial property footage, also confirm the relevant authorization for the property and permissions relating to identifiable occupants, staff, signage, or other recorded material. The sources cited here do not establish the specific Indian legal requirements for a particular property or recording.
  3. Plan for YouTube’s copyright checks. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt or terminate a stream. A license may not be enough by itself: the rights holder may also need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. YouTube’s live-streaming copyright guidance explains the platform’s process. Its livestream terms make the provider responsible for having the necessary rights for live content and complying with applicable laws.

Create the encoder stream in YouTube Studio

  1. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream using the encoder workflow, then open Live Control Room.
  2. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that stream into the encoder you chose. Treat the key like a password: anyone who has it may be able to send a feed to your channel. If you think it has been exposed, replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder.
  3. Start the encoder and wait for the incoming feed to appear in Live Control Room. Check the preview before starting the public broadcast.
  4. Before launch, confirm the event appears where you expect on your channel and watch page, and check it on a phone as well as a computer. Monitor picture and sound during the broadcast; YouTube recommends preparing ahead and watching the stream while it is live.

You can use a private or unlisted test to check framing, audio, and the loop before promoting a public tour stream. Keep the feed useful to prospective tenants or buyers: identify the property and location accurately, keep availability details current, and provide a clear route for viewers to request more information.

How do I loop a video on YouTube Live?

For a local OBS setup, add the recording as a Media Source and enable its Loop option. To rotate through several videos, use OBS’s VLC Video Source with a playlist and enable Loop Playlist. VLC must be installed for the VLC source to appear in OBS.

Loop one tour in OBS

  1. Open OBS and add a Media Source to the scene you want to stream.
  2. Select the property-tour video file. Enable Loop in the source properties so playback starts again when it reaches the end.
  3. Check the scene preview and audio. If you have more than one scene or source, confirm the intended tour is the one visible in the live scene.

Loop a playlist in OBS

  1. Install VLC on the computer if it is not already installed.
  2. In OBS, add a VLC Video Source and load the tour clips in the desired order.
  3. Enable Loop Playlist, then preview the transitions and audio levels before going live.

OBS documents the Media Source Loop control in its Media Sources guide. In either local setup, the computer, source files, OBS, and internet connection must remain available for the duration of the broadcast.

Can I run a 24/7 YouTube livestream from OBS?

Yes, OBS can keep sending a looped file or playlist while the computer and connection continue operating. It does not make the broadcast independent of the computer: a power cut, operating-system restart, OBS failure, lost source file, or internet interruption can stop or degrade the feed. YouTube warns that network disruption can break a stream, so a 24/7 local setup needs an operator or monitoring and a plan for restarting it.

Keep enough upload capacity

YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload-bandwidth headroom. Treat that as a margin recommendation, not a guarantee: test the actual upload connection at the location where the encoder will run, including at the time of day you expect to stream. Watch Live Control Room’s stream-health messages. Use the encoder’s current settings for the chosen output resolution rather than copying bitrate values blindly across resolutions. YouTube’s streaming tips cover bandwidth and setup considerations.

Check ingest format if the stream fails

If YouTube reports an incorrect format, check the encoder output against YouTube’s ingest requirements. Its encoder streaming guidance identifies H.264 video and AAC audio for common encoder workflows. Correct the encoder’s output format, then verify that Live Control Room receives a healthy preview before restarting publicly.

Which way should you keep the stream running?

For a recurring playlist without a computer left running at the property, StreamNeo is the first cloud option to consider: it loops uploaded videos from the cloud, supports up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. Other options suit teams that prefer to manage local equipment or specifically need a dedicated appliance.

Approach Best suited to What must stay available Main trade-off
StreamNeo cloud playout Continuous YouTube playlists when you do not want a local computer running The uploaded content and active cloud service Recurring service cost, storage and plan terms; recovery claims are provider claims, not an independent uptime guarantee
OBS on an existing computer A lower-cost setup when someone can maintain the computer and connection Computer, source files, OBS, power, and internet Local interruptions can stop or degrade the feed; monitoring and recovery remain your responsibility
AJA HELO Plus with PlayToStream Someone seeking purpose-built hardware for scheduled prerecorded playout The hardware and its network connection A specialist equipment purchase may be more than a basic tour loop requires

YouTube’s verified-encoder directory describes the AJA HELO Plus PlayToStream feature as scheduling prerecorded media directly to YouTube Live without a computer. Choose among these approaches based on whether you already have suitable equipment, how much local monitoring you can provide, whether you need a playlist, and how important a complete replay is.

Will a 24-hour YouTube livestream be saved?

Do not rely on YouTube to preserve a complete replay of a stream longer than 12 hours. YouTube’s encoder guidance says, “All streams under 12 hours will be automatically archived.” That statement covers streams under 12 hours; it does not promise a full archive for a longer continuous broadcast. See YouTube’s encoder livestream instructions.

If viewers need a replay of each tour or the team needs a complete daily record, schedule shorter sessions or make a separate recording and upload the source material. Test the replay workflow before relying on it for a property presentation or recordkeeping.

Will a repeated property-tour stream earn money?

Do not treat a continuous loop as an earnings shortcut. YouTube’s monetization policies apply to livestreams and expect original, authentic content; repetitive or mass-produced material may not qualify. A property tour may be legitimate promotional content, but a loop does not guarantee monetization, ad delivery, or revenue. Eligibility, rights, review, and audience response are separate considerations. Read YouTube’s channel monetization policies before relying on monetization.

Common problems and fixes

  • The encoder cannot connect: Check that the correct stream URL and key are copied into the encoder, that the key has not been changed in Studio, and that the channel is permitted to livestream. If a key may have been exposed, replace it and update the encoder.
  • The video plays once and stops: In OBS, reopen the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For multiple clips, check that you used VLC Video Source, installed VLC, and enabled Loop Playlist.
  • The image or sound is missing in the preview: Confirm the correct OBS scene and source are active, the source file is available, and audio is not muted. Test the preview before making the event public.
  • Live Control Room reports poor stream health or the feed drops: Test the location’s upload connection, preserve YouTube’s recommended 20% bandwidth headroom, and check for local network interruptions. Monitor health messages and have a restart plan.
  • YouTube reports an unsupported or incorrect format: Check encoder output for H.264 video and AAC audio, then confirm the corrected feed in Live Control Room.
  • The stream is interrupted for copyright: Review every audio and video element, obtain the necessary rights, and ask the rights holder about Content ID allowlisting where applicable. A license alone may not prevent a live interruption.
  • The replay is incomplete or absent after a day-long session: YouTube’s stated automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours. Use shorter sessions or record and upload a separate copy when a complete replay matters.
