To broadcast a recorded Free Fire match as a YouTube Live stream, send the video file from a computer through an encoder. In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a stream, copy that event’s stream URL and key into the encoder, select the recording as its video source, check the preview, and start the broadcast. YouTube documents the encoder connection process, but it does not provide Free Fire-specific instructions for configuring a prerecorded file. Before streaming, check that you have permission to rebroadcast the gameplay, game audio, and any other material in the recording.
Before you set up the broadcast
Make sure the channel can stream
YouTube’s general live-streaming guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. The stated minimum age for live streaming is 16. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable live streaming well before the time you plan to go live. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and its encoder setup instructions.
Check rights to the recording
Owning the file does not necessarily mean you have cleared every element in it. Check the current Garena terms that apply to your Free Fire gameplay recording, public rebroadcast, game audio, and any commercial use. The YouTube guidance cited here does not establish what Garena permits, so do not assume that YouTube’s support for encoder streams grants permission to rebroadcast or monetize Free Fire footage.
Also check any music, overlays, clips, or other third-party material. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may replace the image with a placeholder, warn you, interrupt or terminate the stream, or apply a strike. A stream that is archived may receive a Content ID claim afterward. If a rights holder has licensed material for your stream, YouTube says the holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to prevent an interruption. Read YouTube’s guidance on copyright issues with live streams.

Choose the encoder route, not mobile streaming
An encoder is the appropriate route for sending a video file from a computer to YouTube Live. YouTube describes encoders as a way to broadcast gameplay and use overlays or external audio and video hardware. The file-to-encoder workflow does not require a capture card when the recording is already on the computer. You do not need to buy a microphone for a video-only broadcast; an external microphone is optional if you plan to add live commentary.
Mobile live streaming is a different workflow, designed for broadcasting from a phone rather than playing an existing file. YouTube’s mobile guidance lists its own eligibility conditions, including a subscriber threshold; those mobile conditions are not requirements for the general encoder workflow. The supplied mobile-help result is a third-party proxy, so check YouTube Help directly for current mobile requirements rather than relying on an exact threshold from that page.

How to stream a recorded Free Fire match with an encoder
- Enable live streaming and verify the channel. In YouTube Studio, complete any verification or live-stream activation steps shown for your channel. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- Create an event or start an immediate stream. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live. For an immediate broadcast, start from the Stream tab. To prepare an upcoming event, open Manage → Schedule Stream. Set the title, description, visibility, and other event details deliberately. A scheduled stream creates a shareable upcoming watch page, and viewers can opt in to reminders.
- Copy the event’s connection details. In Live Control Room, copy the stream URL and stream key for the event you intend to use. In the encoder’s stream settings, enter those details. Treat the key like a password: someone who obtains it may be able to send a feed to your event. YouTube explains stream-key and event settings in Manage live stream settings.
- Load the recording into the encoder. Add the Free Fire match file as the encoder’s video or media source. The exact controls depend on the encoder and its current version; YouTube’s general instructions cover connecting an encoder, not the application-specific steps for loading a prerecorded file. Choose audio tracks carefully and include only material you are entitled to use. Do not assume that an encoder can play a particular file format unless its current documentation says it can.
- Check the incoming preview. Start sending from the encoder and wait for the event preview in Live Control Room. Confirm that the correct event is selected and that picture and sound are present before starting the public broadcast. For a scheduled event, click Go Live in Live Control Room after the preview appears.
- End the broadcast cleanly. When the recording is finished, end the event in YouTube Studio and stop the encoder from sending. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived. Review the resulting archive and YouTube Studio notifications for copyright claims or other issues.
Bitrate, resolution, and keyframes
The YouTube sources cited here establish the event, stream-key, preview, and encoder connection workflow, but do not provide bitrate, resolution, frame-rate, or keyframe values for this specific prerecorded Free Fire setup. Use the current settings recommended by YouTube for your chosen output and the encoder’s own documentation; do not treat a single preset as suitable for every recording or connection. Check the preview for smooth motion, readable gameplay, and synchronized audio before you go live.
Schedule the stream or start immediately?
| Choice | When it fits | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Immediate stream | You are ready to broadcast and do not need an upcoming watch page. | Open Create → Go Live, use the Stream tab, connect the encoder, check the preview, and start the stream. |
| Scheduled stream | You want to share the event page in advance and let viewers opt into reminders. | Open Manage → Schedule Stream, set the event details, connect the encoder to that event’s URL and key, then use Live Control Room to go live after checking the preview. |
Scheduling does not replace the encoder connection: the encoder still needs the connection details for the event you created. Double-check the event selection before broadcasting so the recording does not go to a different stream.

India-specific points to keep in mind
YouTube’s documented encoder workflow does not identify a separate India-only stream key, encoder path, or capture-card requirement. That does not settle other legal or network considerations, nor does it answer Garena’s permissions for rebroadcasting Free Fire footage. If you are in India and choose StreamNeo for cloud playback, UPI is available alongside cards; its cloud service is for YouTube streams only.
Troubleshooting common problems
- You cannot start a live stream: Check channel verification, live-stream activation, and whether the channel has a current live restriction. First-time activation may take up to 24 hours.
- Live Control Room does not receive a preview: Confirm that the encoder is using the URL and key for the intended event and that it has started sending. Recheck the selected source and the encoder’s connection settings.
- The preview appears, but the scheduled event is not live: For a scheduled broadcast, wait for the incoming preview and then click Go Live in Live Control Room.
- There is no picture or sound: Check that the correct media source is selected and that the recording plays in the encoder. Verify the audio track and levels in the preview before starting the broadcast.
- YouTube interrupts or stops the stream: Check Live Control Room and YouTube Studio for notices. Third-party content can trigger warnings, interruptions, termination, or a strike; an archive can also receive a later Content ID claim. Resolve rights issues rather than repeatedly restarting the same material.
- The recording is claimed after the stream: Review the claim details in YouTube Studio and follow YouTube’s process. A live broadcast being allowed to start does not establish that every part of the recording is cleared.
Or let it run in the cloud
If you want an uploaded recording to keep playing without leaving a computer on at home, StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It keeps the stream running from the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card required; monthly billing is $9.99 per month. Cloud playback does not clear rights to Free Fire footage, game audio, or music, so check those permissions before broadcasting. Start your free StreamNeo day.

Can the stream earn money?
If your channel is eligible and monetization is enabled, YouTube lists ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and channel memberships as possible live revenue features. Ads are not guaranteed to serve, and owning a recording does not by itself establish that it qualifies for monetization. Review YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance and the applicable rights terms before planning around revenue.
