You can broadcast recorded teacher training courses around the clock by sending a prepared video or playlist to YouTube Live through an encoder. First clear the rights to every course asset, enable live streaming on the channel, configure the encoder with YouTube’s server URL and stream key, and test playback and recovery before launch. A 24/7 broadcast needs an operator plan: YouTube warns that connection disruptions can break a stream, and its automatic-archive guidance covers streams under 12 hours—not a full day-long run.
What you need for a 24/7 course stream
An encoder takes the recorded course video and sends it as a live feed to YouTube. Your workflow can use a local software or hardware encoder, or a cloud playout service. YouTube’s encoder guide lists Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 prerecorded-video streams, alongside software and hardware encoder choices; that listing establishes relevance, not an endorsement or a guarantee of a vendor’s performance or terms. See YouTube’s encoder setup guide.
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled and no restriction preventing the broadcast.
- Course videos and any playlist or playout workflow your encoder will use.
- An encoder configured with the YouTube server URL and stream key.
- Reliable upload connectivity, monitoring, and a response plan for interruptions.
- Permission to livestream every part of the course, including embedded third-party material.
Clear rights before you schedule the broadcast
Having a copy of a course video does not by itself establish permission to rebroadcast it. YouTube’s live-stream terms make the provider responsible for having the rights needed to exploit the live content on Google services, including applicable music licensing rights, and for complying with applicable laws and regulations. The terms also say, “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” Review the actual contracts and permissions for your course and territory; the rights needed depend on the material and agreement. Read YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
Check the whole broadcast, not just the main lesson recording. Slides, music, images, video excerpts, and guest contributions may each have separate terms. Confirm that your permissions cover public livestreaming, continuous rebroadcast, the territories you serve, and the intended use of each asset.

YouTube scans livestreams for third-party content. A match can trigger a warning or placeholder, and a stream may be interrupted or terminated if the material continues. Even if you have a license, YouTube says the relevant rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist to avoid interruption. Ask the owner about allowlisting before going live; a license alone does not guarantee that automated enforcement will not interrupt the broadcast. Set up the stream from channel to encoder
1. Enable live streaming on the channel
Confirm live streaming is enabled for the channel before building the event. YouTube says first-time activation can take up to 24 hours. Account status and restrictions can also affect access, so check the channel’s live-streaming eligibility in YouTube Studio rather than leaving activation until launch day. 2. Choose an encoder workflow
For a continuously repeated course library, assess whether the encoder can play a playlist unattended, restart after a fault, expose useful monitoring or alerts, and let an operator intervene. Also account for the computer, network, or cloud resources it requires and who will respond if playback stops. YouTube’s guide covers encoder categories and lists Gyre for cloud-based 24/7 prerecorded streams; verify current vendor features, costs, and support directly before choosing a service.
3. Create the live event and protect the stream key
In YouTube Studio, create or configure the live stream using the encoder workflow. Copy the server URL and stream key YouTube provides into the corresponding encoder fields. The stream key grants access to send video to the stream, so treat it like a password: share it only with trusted channel operators and replace it if it is exposed. YouTube documents the server URL and stream-key flow in its encoder setup guide.

4. Build and verify the playlist
Load the approved course recordings in the intended order and confirm that the encoder is set to loop or schedule them as required. Check that the final lesson transitions back to the first as expected, and that no unintended gaps, black frames, or silent segments appear. The exact playlist controls vary by encoder, so verify its current instructions rather than assuming one product’s settings apply to another.
5. Preview and test before launch
Start with a controlled test. Preview the incoming feed, check the channel’s watch page on desktop and mobile, and listen for clean audio while checking that the picture is stable. Test the backup or restart procedure and make sure someone knows how to act on an alert. YouTube recommends monitoring audio and video quality and testing encoder failover as part of stream readiness. YouTube’s live encoder settings and recommendations.

Keep the stream stable and recoverable
Continuous streaming depends on both the encoder and the path to YouTube. YouTube recommends keeping upload capacity above the stream’s total bitrate by a 20% margin. If primary and backup encoders both send data, include both in the capacity calculation, plus that margin. A disruption in connectivity can break the stream, so test the actual network and failover setup you intend to use—not only the video file.
- Prefer a stable wired connection where practical; a Cat6 Ethernet cable can connect a computer to a router, but it cannot fix insufficient bandwidth or an unreliable internet service.
- Monitor the outgoing picture and sound during operation, and decide who will respond to alerts or a dropped connection.
- Test restarts and backup-encoder behavior before relying on them during a live run.
- Keep approved source files and a separate archive plan; do not rely on the YouTube livestream archive as your only copy.
Use YouTube’s current encoder recommendations for the relevant resolution and frame rate when setting output parameters; do not choose a bitrate in isolation from the available upload capacity. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes stream-quality settings and operational recommendations.

Plan for archives separately from the live schedule
YouTube’s encoder guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. A planned 24/7 run exceeds that stated duration, so do not assume the whole continuous broadcast will be retained as one replay. Preserve the approved source videos separately and decide how you will retain or publish course sessions; check YouTube’s current archive behavior before depending on it for any particular run. YouTube’s encoder guide.
Costs and operational trade-offs
A local encoder may avoid a cloud playout subscription, but it relies on the local machine, power, network, and someone’s ability to recover it. A cloud workflow shifts playout away from the home or office computer, but compare the provider’s current pricing, playlist controls, recovery behavior, monitoring, support, and storage terms before committing. YouTube’s listing of an encoder does not establish its commercial terms or comparative reliability. Whichever route you choose, include the cost of connectivity, operator attention, rights clearance, and a separate retention plan.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a YouTube-only cloud service for looping uploaded videos: upload the course recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Your computer can be off while the stream runs. It accepts uploads as made, up to 4K at 60 fps, with one flat price per slot and no quality tiers; it also offers automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Confirm that your course materials are cleared before streaming, whichever workflow you use. See StreamNeo, or start the free first day.
