What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Short answer: You generally can’t tell from a YouTube livestream replay whether an ad played for you—or for another viewer. YouTube does not provide a dependable viewer-side record of ad delivery. If you own or manage the channel, YouTube Analytics can show aggregate ad revenue and playback metrics, but not a named viewer’s ad history.
What a viewer can—and can’t—check
You can tell whether you personally saw an ad while watching: for example, YouTube may interrupt playback with an ad that you can skip or watch to its end. But the replay’s timeline is not a reliable record of who received ads, when they appeared, or whether other viewers saw them.
YouTube says live ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. Viewers may receive live mid-roll ads at different times; viewers who receive one rejoin the stream after it ends or they skip it. Someone else’s account of seeing an interruption—or your own uninterrupted replay—does not establish what happened for everyone.
Do not treat a visible gap, an inserted ad break, or the channel’s monetization status as proof that an ad played for a particular viewer. If you do not own or manage the channel, YouTube’s creator Analytics are not a way to look up another person’s ad experience.

What a channel owner can check in YouTube Analytics
Creators can use YouTube Analytics to review ad revenue from live streams and live replays. YouTube’s live-stream guidance points creators to the video’s Analytics and describes a Live reporting filter for live-stream revenue. The available layout and metrics can vary by video or account, so use the Revenue reporting available for that video rather than assuming every report exposes the same figures. YouTube documents filters including Live, On demand, and Live & on demand; choose the one that matches whether you are examining the live broadcast, its replay, or both.
- Open YouTube Studio and select Content.
- Choose Live, then select the stream whose performance you want to review.
- Open Analytics. Review the available Revenue reporting and select the relevant reporting filter, such as Live, On demand, or Live & on demand.
YouTube’s documented Analytics are channel-level reporting, not a per-viewer playback log. They can help assess ad activity and revenue across views, but they do not establish whether a particular named person saw an ad. Analytics uses Video ID-based data that is processed and despammed; it measures different information from Live Control Room data, so concurrent-viewer counts should not be read as ad impressions.

How to read the ad metrics
- Estimated ad revenue is revenue from ads on videos; it is not the same as estimated revenue from all sources.
- Estimated monetized playbacks count times a video was watched with ads.
- Ad impressions count individual ads viewed. One monetized playback can include more than one ad, so impressions and monetized playbacks need not match.
- Views count times the video was played. A view is not necessarily monetized.
YouTube illustrates the distinction with an example: 10 views and 8 estimated monetized playbacks can coexist, and if one monetized playback includes two ads, the example has 9 ad impressions. Those are explanatory figures, not a standard ratio. Views can exceed monetized playbacks because ads may be off, the video may not be advertiser-friendly, no suitable ad may be available, or targeting may not match. YouTube also names viewer geography, recent ad exposure, and Premium status as factors that can affect whether an ad is shown.
Why viewers of the same livestream may have different ad experiences
Live monetization can include pre-roll and display ads, which YouTube says are automatically turned on when monetization is enabled, as well as mid-rolls that are automatic or manually inserted. An enabled format or scheduled slot is an opportunity for an ad to serve, not confirmation that every viewer received one. YouTube says delivery depends on factors balancing viewer experience, creator earnings, and advertiser values.

When an ad does not run, a viewer continues watching the stream. During a creator’s Take a Break, eligible viewers may see ads while others see an away slate. These differences help explain why people watching the same event may report different interruptions; they do not create a public record that lets viewers reconstruct one another’s ad history.
If you can’t find the livestream replay
Replay availability is separate from ad delivery. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived and recommends keeping a local recording as a backup. Streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured. A saved replay does not prove ads were served, and a missing replay does not show whether ads played during the live event.
