Play your game before sharing it, make focused edits, then deliberately choose its visibility in Google Playground. Use Unlisted for people with a direct link or Listed / Discoverable to make it publicly searchable after Google’s safety evaluation. New games start as drafts; they are not shared automatically.
How to test your Playground game
Google describes testing as part of the creation process: after generating a game, you can play it right away and decide whether its mechanics and presentation match your idea. The platform does not document a formal quality-assurance checklist or claim that it runs a functional playtest on your behalf, so check the experience yourself before sharing.
Try the game as a player
Play through the result and look for anything that differs from what you intended: unclear rules, awkward pacing, graphics that do not fit the idea, or game logic that behaves unexpectedly. Playground supports conversational edits to game logic, graphics, and rules. Google does not specify a particular preview button or fixed sequence of testing controls. Revise one focused point at a time
Open the game from Your Games using its edit icon, then describe the change you want in conversational instructions. Google recommends clear, focused requests rather than combining many complex changes into one prompt. Play again after a change to see whether it addressed the issue without disrupting the parts you wanted to keep.

Choose who can play your game
In Playground, a game’s visibility determines who can access it and whether it appears in public discovery. New creations begin as drafts; publish the game or change its visibility in Your Games when you are ready to share it.
| Visibility | Who can access it | Search and discovery | Use it for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draft | You, the creator | Not public | A work in progress |
| Private | You, the creator | Not public | Keeping a compiled game to yourself |
| Unlisted | Anyone with the unique direct link | Hidden from public search and discovery | Sharing with selected people |
| Listed / Discoverable | The public | Searchable across Playground after Google’s safety evaluation | Reaching the broader Playground community |
These visibility descriptions are from the Playground Help Center.

Share a game with a link
Set the game to Unlisted and send its direct link to the people you want to play it. Unlisted games are not publicly searchable, but anyone with the link can access the game. Treat the link accordingly if you only intend a small group to see it.
Make a game publicly discoverable
Choose Listed / Discoverable if you want people to find the game through Playground’s public search and discovery. Public listing is subject to Google’s safety evaluation; it is not simply a link-only share.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsRepublish after editing a published game
Editing a published game does not replace its live version immediately. Your changes remain private as a draft until you explicitly publish again. The previously published version remains playable while you work, so publish the revised version when you are satisfied with it.
Follow Playground’s sharing rules
Playground’s Community Guidelines say not to link to, share, or display URLs of external websites in games. Use the platform’s Social Links feature to share a game. The guidelines also require respect for copyright and prohibit misleading impersonation.

Why a Playground game link might not work
If someone cannot open a game, the Help Center identifies several possible reasons: the creator deleted the game, changed its visibility to Draft or Private, or Google removed it for policy violations. Check the game’s current status and visibility in Your Games before sending the link again. (Playground Help Center)

Creation is optimized for modern mobile and desktop browsers. Google says most games are responsive across mobile, tablet, and desktop, but responsiveness depends on how the creator implemented the game. If your intended players use different screen sizes, try the game on those device types before sharing; do not assume that every game will adapt equally well.

Who can use Playground at launch
Google’s launch announcement, dated October 7, 2026, describes Playground as an experiment launching in the United States for people aged 18 and older. The Help Center says creation access is rolling out in phases; browsing and playing the catalog is available to U.S. users aged 18 and older at launch. Google also says free-tier generation has a limited number of tokens refreshed weekly, while a Google One AI plan can provide higher weekly token limits and, at launch, immediate access to creation. These are launch details and may change; consult the Help Center for current availability.
