Transfer Metro Redux saves within the same console family: use PlayStation Plus cloud storage for PS4-to-PS4 or PS4-to-PS5, Xbox cloud saves between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo’s save-data transfer tools between Switch-family consoles. The method depends on where your save is now; the available platform guidance does not establish cross-platform save conversion or compatibility between every Metro Redux edition.
Before you start: identify the consoles and game edition
Check which console holds the save and which console will receive it. Use the same platform account on both systems, and confirm whether you are moving to a replacement console in the same family or to a different platform or edition. PLAION lists Metro 2033 Redux and Metro: Last Light Redux for PS4, Xbox One-family consoles and Nintendo Switch, among other platforms, but its catalog does not specify save compatibility between editions: PLAION’s Metro catalog.

The procedures below are platform-level transfer guidance; they do not guarantee that every Metro Redux release pairing will accept the same save. Keep the old save until you have confirmed the transferred data loads in the intended game.
PlayStation: transfer a PS4 save to PS4 or PS5
Sony’s cloud-storage route requires PlayStation Plus. Upload the save from the old PS4, then download it on the receiving console. Sony’s instructions cover cloud storage for saved data from another PS4 or PS5: PlayStation Plus cloud storage.

- On the old PS4, upload the Metro Redux save to PlayStation Plus cloud storage.
- On the receiving PS4, download the save from cloud storage. On PS5, go to Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data (PS4) > Download or Delete from Cloud Storage, select the save, and download it.
- Install and launch the PS4 version of Metro Redux on the receiving console, then check that the save appears before removing the old copy.
Sony notes that PS4 saves on PS5 may need to be downloaded manually. Metro Redux is listed as a PS4 title playable on PS5, but some PS4 features may be absent; the Store listing does not explicitly guarantee this game’s save transfer: Metro Redux on PlayStation Store.
Xbox: transfer between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S
Xbox’s general guidance says Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S game saves can transfer to another console in those families through the cloud. Connect the new console to the internet, sign in with the same Xbox profile used for the original save, and launch the game so it can sync. Allow the sync to finish before continuing play. Xbox’s page distinguishes original Xbox backward-compatible titles, whose saves do not transfer to Xbox One or Series consoles. Do not assume that exception applies to a Metro Redux release; first confirm which game version you own. The guidance does not describe moving saves between Xbox and PlayStation or Nintendo platforms.

Move a save directly between consoles
Nintendo’s built-in save-data transfer requires both consoles. Connect them to the internet, update their system software, and link the same Nintendo Account to the relevant users. From the HOME menu, select System Settings > Data Management > Transfer Your Save Data, then follow the prompts. Nintendo says this moves the save: it is removed from the source console, and a save already on the destination is overwritten. Read Nintendo’s save-data transfer instructions before proceeding.

Download a Nintendo Switch Online backup
If Metro Redux supports Save Data Cloud, you may be able to download its backup on another console using the same Nintendo Account. Check the game’s eShop listing for cloud-save compatibility; the platform sources do not confirm Metro Redux’s eligibility. Nintendo’s service overview is at Save Data Cloud.
Switch save data is stored in console memory, not on a microSD card or game card. Copying either one does not transfer the save. Nintendo’s data management guidance explains Switch save storage and management.

What to do if the save does not appear
- Confirm that you signed in with the same PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account that owns the save.
- On PlayStation, check cloud storage and manually download the PS4 save on PS5 through the Saved Data settings.
- On Xbox, connect to the internet, launch the game on the receiving console, and allow cloud syncing to complete.
- On Switch, confirm you used the save-transfer flow or that the game’s eShop listing says it supports Save Data Cloud. A microSD card or game card does not contain the save.
- Check that the receiving console is running the Metro Redux version associated with the save. The cited sources do not provide a complete edition-to-edition compatibility chart.
