First, identify what is crashing and when
Before changing drivers or system settings, capture enough detail to distinguish a launch failure from a loading or gameplay crash. The sequence matters: a game that closes before its first screen may call for different support than one that runs for a while before failing.
- Note whether the game crashes on launch, while loading, or during play.
- Write down the exact error message or code. If there is no message, note whether the game closes, Windows restarts, or the screen freezes.
- Record the date of the Windows update and the graphics-driver version and installation date. On Windows, open Settings > Windows Update > Update history to review recent updates. Use your GPU vendor’s software or device support page to identify the installed driver version.
- Record the PC or laptop model, GPU model, and whether you launch the game through Steam or Xbox/Microsoft Store.
- Note any steps that reliably reproduce the crash, such as opening a particular menu or loading a specific save.
This information helps support staff assess whether the timing points to a driver, Windows, game, or device-specific issue. Timing alone cannot identify the cause.
Check whether your PC meets the published requirements
The official Minecraft Dungeons II listing specifies these Windows PC requirements. Meeting them is a compatibility baseline, not a guarantee that the game will run without crashing.

If your PC falls below a listed requirement, note which one when you contact support. If it meets or exceeds them, that still does not establish whether an update is responsible; the requirements do not explain every crash.
Check the right official driver source for your device
Identify both the GPU manufacturer and the PC or laptop maker. For a desktop with a standalone graphics card, the GPU maker’s support page is a starting point. For a laptop or OEM-built PC, check the device maker’s support page too: it may provide a device-specific driver. Do not download drivers from unfamiliar sites or rely on a third-party driver-updater utility.

If your graphics card is AMD
AMD’s Adrenalin Edition 26.9.2 Optional Driver Release Notes, updated September 29, 2026, list Minecraft Dungeons II under “New Game Support.” That documents support in this release; it does not say the driver fixes crashes, and it is not a reason for every player to install it. AMD identifies driver version 26.20.15.02 for Windows 10 and Windows 11 and advises users to check with their OEM for device-specific drivers.
If your graphics card is NVIDIA
The NVIDIA driver page is the official place to identify drivers for a GeForce GPU. A GeForce Game Ready Driver 617.14 page dated September 22, 2026, supports Windows 10 64-bit and Windows 11, but its listed Game Ready highlights do not name Minecraft Dungeons II. The available information therefore does not establish it as a fix for this crash.

Keep general troubleshooting advice in context
Microsoft’s Windows guidance for unexpected restarts and stop-code errors is relevant if Windows itself restarts or displays a stop code. A game closing to the desktop without a Windows error is not the same symptom, so first establish which one you are seeing.
Minecraft’s graphics troubleshooting article discusses driver updates and video-setting or add-on changes for Bedrock Edition. It is not a Minecraft Dungeons II crash procedure, so treat it as general background rather than a confirmed fix for this game.

When the crash remains unresolved
If your system meets the listed requirements and the crash continues, contact the game’s official support channel. Include the crash stage and exact message, your Windows version, PC or laptop model, GPU and VRAM, driver version and source, recent update dates, whether you use Steam or Xbox/Microsoft Store, and steps that reproduce the problem. Those details give support a clearer basis to investigate a game-specific failure.
No official source reviewed confirms that a Windows or GPU driver update triggers a particular Minecraft Dungeons II crash, or documents one recovery procedure that works for all affected systems. Avoid treating an unverified workaround as a guaranteed remedy.
