There is no officially documented universal fix. The steps below distinguish developer-confirmed behaviors from diagnostic checks that may help narrow down a problem.
Check that your PC meets the published requirements
Steam’s Windows store listing specifies these minimum and recommended requirements. Meeting them does not guarantee a crash-free experience, and falling short does not prove that a particular symptom has one specific cause.

Compare your Windows version, processor, RAM, graphics card, available space, and drive type with the official Steam system requirements. The listing says an SSD is required; it does not establish that moving the game to an SSD will resolve every crash or stutter.
Match the problem to a known issue
The developer’s Known Issues post describes several PC and Steam Deck behaviors. These are specific reported conditions, not evidence that every similar symptom has the same cause.

NVIDIA 50-series crash when using Frame Generation and DLSS
The developer lists crashes in some cases involving NVIDIA 50-series GPUs when Frame Generation and DLSS are being used. It does not document a guaranteed workaround. As a diagnostic experiment—not a confirmed fix—turn off Frame Generation and DLSS temporarily, restart the game, and see whether the same crash happens. If it stops, report the change to support; do not treat that result as proof that the features are the only cause.
Steam Deck launch appears stuck at the EOS overlay
The developer says the EOS overlay may fail to appear on Steam Deck, making the game look frozen. Its instruction for this specific situation is: press B to cancel and return to the game. This guidance concerns the overlay behavior, not unrelated crashes or freezes.

The developer FAQ says consistent 30 fps is achievable on Steam Deck with optimal settings, but does not specify those settings. That statement is the developer’s guidance, not an independently verified performance guarantee.
Intel Arc A580 flickering or distorted image
The Known Issues post lists image distortion or flickering on an Intel Arc A580 when Resizable BAR is disabled. Check the official guidance for your graphics card, motherboard, and system before changing firmware or BIOS settings; the issue listing does not provide setup instructions.

Monitor blinks or the PC becomes unresponsive after switching apps
The developer also lists a fullscreen issue in which switching focus between applications can make the monitor blink and the system highly unresponsive. The post does not identify a workaround. If this matches your problem, record the exact sequence that triggers it for a support report rather than assuming it is the same issue as GPU-related flicker.
If the game will not launch, check first-launch authentication
For PC players, the developer FAQ says an internet connection is required the first time the game launches for authentication. If the game has never launched successfully, confirm the PC is online and try again. After initial authentication, the solo campaign, Arcade events, and Scenarios can be played offline; updates and online-connected features still require internet access. PC access is through Steam and the Epic Games Store, according to the developer FAQ.

Narrow down stuttering without assuming a cause
The official materials cited here do not identify a universal cause or fix for stuttering. Use a few controlled checks to establish what is happening, and distinguish an observed change from a proven remedy:
- Compare your PC with the published minimum and recommended specifications, especially the GPU, RAM, SSD requirement, and free storage.
- Note whether the stutter occurs continuously or only at a repeatable moment, such as a particular scene or after switching applications.
- If you have an NVIDIA 50-series card and both Frame Generation and DLSS are enabled, test with those features temporarily disabled, as described above.
- Record the game platform, Windows version, CPU, GPU, graphics driver version, and the settings active when the problem occurs.
These checks help describe and isolate the symptom; they are not developer-confirmed stutter fixes.

Report issues that are not listed
If your symptom does not match the developer’s Known Issues post, contact the Secret Mode Customer Support Centre and submit a bug report, as the developer requests. Include the platform or storefront, operating system, CPU and GPU, driver version, exact error text, what happened, and the steps immediately before the issue. These details can make the report more useful; the sources do not say that every item is required by the form.
Known issues can change as the developer updates its support information, so check the current post before repeating a diagnostic test.
