In Minecraft Bedrock Edition, open Play → Realms, select your Realm, then go to Settings → world slot → Edit World. Choose Upload World for an empty slot or Replace World for an occupied one, confirm, and wait for the upload to finish. You need an active Realms trial or paid subscription; Minecraft recommends updating both the device holding the world and the destination device first. Minecraft’s upload guide
Before you upload your world
- Check the edition: These menu directions are for Bedrock Edition. Java Edition has its own instructions; do not assume its menus match Bedrock’s. Minecraft’s Java upload guide
- Check the subscription: Minecraft’s Bedrock transfer guide requires an active Realms trial or paid subscription.
- Update both devices: Minecraft recommends that the device with the local world and the device receiving it run the latest Minecraft version.
- Check the destination slot: Uploading to an occupied slot replaces its current world. Save a copy first if you want to keep that world.
Upload a local world to a Realm in Bedrock
- On the device that has the world, launch Minecraft and select Play.
- Open Realms, choose the Realm, and open its Settings.
- Select the slot where you want the world, then choose Edit World.
- In Game Settings, scroll to the bottom. Choose Upload World if the slot is empty, or Replace World if it already contains a world.
- Confirm the action and let the upload complete.
The world is then stored in the selected Realm slot. The exact labels and screens described here are for Bedrock; check Minecraft’s current Java-specific help if you play Java Edition.

Alternative: start from the local worlds list
You can also select Edit next to the world in your local worlds list, make any desired settings changes, choose Play on Realm, and select the destination Realm. If that Realm already has a world loaded, this route replaces it and may erase its saved progress. Minecraft’s guide to changing a Realm world
Keep the Realm’s current world before replacing it
If the destination slot contains a world you might want later, download it before you replace the slot. From the slot’s Edit World screen, Minecraft’s guide describes downloading the latest world or opening Backups and downloading a saved version. Backups are not retained indefinitely, so download a copy you want to keep rather than relying on the Realm’s backup history as a permanent archive. Minecraft’s guide to changing a Realm world

Its Bedrock setup page describes a plan for up to two friends playing at the same time and a Realms Plus plan for up to 10 players simultaneously. The page also says eligible first-time Realms Plus subscribers may start a 30-day trial. Plan names, eligibility, availability, player limits, and prices can change, so verify the current terms in Minecraft or on the official Realms page before subscribing.
