Samsung renamed the mobile Game Launcher app Samsung Gaming Hub effective March 16, 2026, so check for either name on older devices or software. Samsung’s naming notice covers that change.
Choose what you want to remove

Uninstall Gaming Hub on a Galaxy phone or tablet
- Open the Apps screen.
- Touch and hold Gaming Hub (or Game Launcher).
- Tap Uninstall.
- Confirm by tapping OK, if prompted.
Samsung documents this as its standard app-removal route, but screens and available controls vary by model, software version, region, and wireless provider. See Samsung’s app-management guidance. Uninstalling Gaming Hub does not by itself uninstall every game on the device; each game is a separate app.
If Uninstall is missing, disable Gaming Hub
- Open the Apps screen.
- Touch and hold Gaming Hub or Game Launcher.
- Tap Disable and confirm.
Disable is not the same as uninstall: a preloaded system component may remain on the device and continue to occupy some baseline storage. Samsung says some preinstalled apps cannot be uninstalled, and not all can be disabled either. If neither control appears, the option may be restricted by the device, carrier, firmware, or system-app policy; Samsung does not provide one universal workaround.

Remove a game from the hub without deleting it
- Open Gaming Hub.
- Tap My games.
- Touch and hold the game.
- Tap Remove from Gaming Hub.
Do not choose Uninstall unless you want the game deleted from the device. Samsung distinguishes removing a listing from uninstalling the game itself. Samsung’s instructions explain both choices.
Change where game icons appear
- Open Gaming Hub.
- Tap More options (the three vertical dots), then Settings.
- Tap Show game apps.
- Choose whether games appear only in Gaming Hub or in both Gaming Hub and the Home/Apps screens.
Samsung’s U.S. instructions use this path; wording and choices can differ by software version. Check Samsung’s Show game apps guidance. This setting changes presentation, not whether Gaming Hub is installed.

Why some recommendations cannot be removed
Not every tile is an installed game. A Samsung Community moderator responding in January 2026 said Gaming Hub 8.0’s top area can combine recommended and recently played games, and that deleting recommended games is not supported. The moderator separately confirmed that entries under My Games can be removed by long-pressing them. This is a moderator response, not a universal specification, and behavior may vary by version or region. Read the Samsung Community reply.
Gaming Hub and Game Booster are separate
Samsung identifies Game Booster as a separate app that works with Gaming Hub. Removing or disabling the hub therefore does not guarantee that all gaming overlays, notifications, optimizations, or background components disappear. Samsung’s notification support guidance says Game Booster cannot be turned off or disabled in that context. Reset data instead of removing the app
If the problem is a glitch or you want to reset app-stored settings, clearing cache or data is different from uninstalling Gaming Hub. On Galaxy devices, the general route is Settings → Apps → Gaming Hub → Storage; use Clear cache for temporary files or Clear data to reset app-stored settings, which may sign you out. Samsung’s cache and data instructions cover the distinction.
For Gaming Hub’s privacy-data control, Samsung’s documented route is Gaming Hub → More options → Settings → Erase personal data (or the equivalent privacy control). Samsung warns that this deletion cannot be undone and that use of the app may be restricted while deletion is in progress; the menu can differ in versions below 7.0. Samsung Smart TVs and smart monitors
Gaming Hub on a Samsung TV or monitor is a separate smart-TV feature, not the Galaxy app. Look in the device’s Gaming Hub, Apps, or Smart Hub settings for a control to enable or disable the feature; exact menus depend on model, product year, region, and firmware. Do not use Galaxy app steps such as clearing Android app data.
As a dated U.S. example, Samsung’s support page covers compatible 2022–2024 TVs and smart monitors and says Gaming Hub was included beginning with software version 1302.5 or later. It also says a Samsung Account and internet connection are required for network-based smart services, including cloud gaming. These details do not establish availability or menu paths for every model or later product year. Check Samsung’s TV Gaming Hub compatibility and support details.

If you cannot find the right control
- Search the Apps screen and Settings → Apps for both Gaming Hub and Game Launcher.
- If needed, show system apps in the Apps list or Settings search.
- Confirm whether the app is disabled rather than uninstalled, and whether you removed a game listing instead of the hub itself.
- Restart the device and check for software updates, then look again for the control.
- If the app repeatedly reappears or the option is absent, contact Samsung through Samsung Members or Samsung Support. A system update, carrier build, or region-specific firmware may change what is available.
If your priority is storage, check Settings → Apps → Gaming Hub → Storage where available before and after. The space recovered depends on whether the hub is a downloadable app, a preinstalled component, or cached data; uninstalling it is not guaranteed to free substantial space. Installed-game saves and purchases are managed by each game and its provider, so disabling the hub is not the same as deleting them.

Gaming Hub availability is not universal across Galaxy devices; Samsung lists exceptions and notes that support varies. Check Samsung’s device-support information.
