Android 14 includes a hidden space-navigation game you can open from Settings—no download required. Go to Settings → About phone → Android version, tap the displayed version number until the Android 14 logo appears, then touch and hold the logo to launch the game. Menu names can differ by phone maker.
What is the Android 14 Easter egg?
It is a space-themed feature built into Android 14, rather than a game you install from Google Play. The Android Open Source Project includes the Easter egg in its Android 14 Easter Egg package; its source uses the name Landroid. The experience begins with an Android-themed space animation and leads into a small spacecraft-navigation game.
It is designed for exploration, not a conventional campaign: there is no known mission list, score counter, or clear victory screen in the standard Android 14 experience.
Check that your device is running Android 14
- Open Settings.
- Tap About phone or, on some devices, About device.
- Find Android version and confirm that it says 14.
Check the item labeled Android version—not the Android security update date, Google Play system update, model number, or build number. The Easter egg follows the Android version installed on the device.

How to unlock the game
- Open Settings.
- Go to About phone → Android version. On some Samsung devices, use About phone → Software information → Android version. If you cannot find it, search Settings for “Android version” or “Software information.”
- Rapidly tap the displayed Android version number, normally 14, several times. Three quick taps are commonly reported to work, but keep tapping until the logo appears if they do not.
- When the Android 14 logo appears against the starry background, touch and hold it.
- Keep holding until the device vibrates and the animation changes into the space game.
The usual path and long-press gesture are described by Android Authority and Tom’s Guide. The exact Settings labels vary by manufacturer; Samsung’s version information, for example, may be nested under Software information (Samsung Community).
How to steer the spacecraft
Touch and drag on the screen to change the ship’s direction and apply thrust. Dragging controls both the direction and intensity of the main thruster, so a long, forceful drag can send the craft moving quickly. The ship carries momentum: releasing your finger does not necessarily stop it straight away.

- Thrust indicates propulsion being applied.
- Velocity shows how quickly the ship is moving.
- Coordinates show the ship’s position in the game world.
- Star details describe the nearby star; reported information includes its class, radius, mass, and number of orbiting bodies.
Use brief, controlled drags and watch the velocity and coordinates rather than holding in one direction continuously. The interface and touch-drag controls are described in 9to5Google’s coverage of the mini-game.
How to find the star and planets
The practical navigation target is the star at coordinates (0, 0). Use the coordinate readout to steer toward that position. Once near the star, look for its information panel and the visible orbital paths; following those paths can lead you to the planets. Treat this as exploration, not a guaranteed landing challenge: your trajectory and speed affect whether you approach or collide with a body.

Is there a way to beat the game?
There is no clear, conventional completion state established for the Android 14 mini-game. Reaching the star and exploring its orbiting planets are useful goals, but neither is presented as a confirmed win condition. Coverage likewise describes the experience as lacking an obvious “you win” moment (Android Authority).
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Android 14 Easter egg not working?
- The version is not 14: You are not on Android 14, or you are looking at a different version field. The ordinary Settings activation opens the Easter egg associated with the installed Android version, not specifically the Android 14 game.
- You cannot find Android version: Check About device as well as About phone, look under Software information, or search Settings. Manufacturer menus are not identical.
- Tapping does nothing: Tap the number itself, not just the “Android version” label, and tap quickly several times. Continue until the logo appears.
- The logo appears but the game does not: Touch and hold the logo for several seconds, keeping your finger on the screen until the transition begins. If a stylus or accessibility gesture interrupts the hold, try again with a finger and an uninterrupted press.
- The screen seems stuck: Try closing and reopening Settings or restarting the phone. These are practical fallback steps, not documented Android activation requirements.
- Your phone is on a later Android release: It may have a related but different Easter egg rather than the exact Android 14 version.
What if the phone runs Android 15 or later?
Later Android versions may retain the space-game idea without reproducing the exact Android 14 experience. Android 15, for example, adds a feature for planting flags on planets (Android Authority). If the installed version is newer than 14, follow the Easter egg for that release rather than expecting the Android 14 game to appear unchanged.
