To unlock the secret Chapter 10 in Visions of Mana, defeat Daelophos in Chapter 9, load the completed save marked with a crown, then travel to Illystana and speak with Iain in the Royal Palace. Chapter 10 does not start automatically after the final boss.
Unlock Chapter 10
- Defeat Daelophos. Finish the final boss encounter in Chapter 9. After the ending, the game returns you to a save state from before the fight, according to the Chapter 9 walkthrough.
- Load the crown-marked save. The crown icon identifies the completed save used to access the post-game chapter, as described in the post-game guide.
- Go to Illystana. Continue from that save and make your way to the city.
- Speak with Iain in the Royal Palace. This conversation opens Chapter 10, according to the Chapter 10 walkthrough.
What to expect in the secret chapter
Iain explains that his crown has been stolen and warns that Aeve Zalaha may awaken unless several monsters are dealt with. Chapter 10 also features end-game bosses and an opportunity to obtain Ultimate Weapons. The Chapter 10 walkthrough further notes that Dudbear can sell the final Elemental Plot items.
If Chapter 10 does not appear
Check that you defeated Daelophos and loaded the save with the crown icon, rather than simply continuing from an earlier save. Then go to Illystana and find Iain inside the Royal Palace. The walkthroughs identify that as the route into Chapter 10.
How Chapter 10 fits after the main story
Chapter 9 is the main story’s final chapter. Completing it also unlocks New Game Plus and Expert difficulty, while the game returns you to just before the Daelophos fight. Chapter 10 is an additional post-game chapter accessed by continuing from the crowned completed save and starting Iain’s quest.
