To unlock Tiana, start Remy’s A Taste for Literature quest by picking up the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book in the Glade of Trust. You’ll need the Glade’s Pillar of Trust restored, Moana unlocked, Chez Remy open, and access to Milk, Onion, and Rice. Then investigate the book’s Memory, cook Enchanted Shrimp Étouffée, share it with the villagers, build Tiana’s house, and return the book to her.
Before you can start A Taste for Literature
- Restore the Pillar of Trust in the Glade of Trust.
- Unlock Moana and open Chez Remy.
- Have access to Milk, Onion, and Rice.
Once those requirements are met, look for the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book on the ground in the Glade. Picking it up starts the quest automatically. Remy’s mailbox letter points you toward the book; one walkthrough suggests checking near the northern pond, but the quest objective does not promise a fixed spawn point.
How to complete the quest and unlock Tiana
- Pick up the book. Search the Glade of Trust for the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book. If it is missing, check the prerequisites above before treating it as a bug.
- Bring it to Remy. Go to Chez Remy and talk to him about the cookbook. Examine the Memory that appears, then speak with Remy again about what it shows.
- Ask Mickey, Merlin, and Moana about the Memory. Talk to all three villagers and follow the active quest objective to make sure every clue is collected. Mickey recalls Rice, Merlin identifies the magically spicy pepper, and Moana recalls Onion. Remy confirms Milk. Dialogue can vary depending on who you speak to first.
- Cook Enchanted Shrimp Étouffée. In the recipe list, open the Quests category and select Enchanted Shrimp Étouffée. Use Shrimp, Onion, Rice, Milk, and the quest-specific enchanted pepper item Merlin gives you. A walkthrough calls that item Dreamlight Peppers, while quest dialogue describes enchanted or magically preserved Chili Peppers; use the item supplied for the quest rather than ordinary peppers.
- Share the dish. Deliver a serving to Moana, Mickey, Merlin, and Remy. Speaking with them reveals memories of the unknown chef and moves the book story forward.
- Save a serving for Tiana. After the required villagers have received the dish, Tiana appears. Keep one serving and give it to her when the quest asks.
- Place and build Tiana’s house. Place the house foundation in the Valley, then interact with Scrooge McDuck’s sign to finish construction. August 2024 walkthroughs reported a cost of 5,000 Star Coins; check the sign for the current in-game price.
- Return the cookbook. Keep the Mysterious Cajun Recipe Book in your inventory and give it to Tiana after her house is complete to finish the quest.
If the quest is not triggering or gets stuck
The book is missing
Confirm that you have restored the Pillar of Trust, unlocked Moana, opened Chez Remy, and have access to Milk, Onion, and Rice. The book is placed somewhere in the Glade of Trust, but its exact position is not guaranteed; the northern pond is a search suggestion, not a fixed location.
Villager dialogue does not match
The dialogue can change with conversation order. Speak with Mickey, Merlin, and Moana, then check the active quest objective rather than relying on a particular line or order.

The quest does not advance after cooking
Make sure you cooked Enchanted Shrimp Étouffée from the Quests recipe list and used the enchanted pepper item provided for this quest. Then deliver the dish to all four required villagers: Moana, Mickey, Merlin, and Remy.
Tiana asks for the dish
Reserve one serving after sharing the meal with the required villagers. Give it to Tiana when prompted, then continue with placing her house and returning the cookbook.
