You can use a YouTube stream key in CameraFi Live by configuring a manual RTMP destination—if that option appears in your installed app. In YouTube Studio, get the stream’s server URL and stream key, then enter each in its matching RTMP field in CameraFi. YouTube documents this encoder setup, and CameraFi lists RTMP among its Android platform/server choices; however, available CameraFi documentation does not verify the current mobile screen names or an exact tap sequence. A stream key alone is not the complete connection detail YouTube specifies.
What this method does—and what it does not do
This is a manual RTMP setup, not CameraFi Live’s account-connected YouTube flow. You do not sign in to YouTube inside CameraFi for the RTMP method; instead, you copy the server URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into CameraFi’s RTMP destination fields, if your version provides them. YouTube’s encoder instructions require both values: YouTube Help: Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder.
CameraFi’s Android beginner guide includes RTMP in its list of platform/server choices, which supports this general route on Android. Its FAQ also lists a YouTube RTMP URL-and-key tutorial, but describes that tutorial as a PC workflow—not verified mobile instructions. The available sources do not establish the current CameraFi mobile key-entry screen, exact button labels, or whether Android and iOS offer the same process.
Before you start: make sure YouTube Live is ready
- Sign in to the YouTube account that owns the channel and open YouTube Studio.
- Check that live streaming is enabled for the account before scheduling a broadcast. CameraFi’s July 11, 2025 guide says account verification is required at least once and that activation may take up to 24 hours. Check your current YouTube account status rather than relying on a last-minute setup: CameraFi Live’s YouTube Live guide.
- Have CameraFi Live installed and confirm that its current version offers an RTMP or custom RTMP destination. If you cannot find destination fields, do not put the key into an unrelated field; consult CameraFi’s in-app help or support for your version.
An external camera is optional equipment described by CameraFi; it is not established as a requirement for manual stream-key entry. See CameraFi Live.

Get the YouTube server URL and stream key
- Open YouTube Studio and go to the Live Control Room.
- Create or select the live stream you intend to use. Open its stream settings and locate the server URL and stream key.
- Copy both values for entry in CameraFi. Use the current values shown for that stream; do not assume the key by itself is sufficient.
Treat the stream key as a credential: do not post it in chat, screenshots, or a public stream description. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before broadcasting again.
Enter the values in CameraFi Live
- Open CameraFi Live and choose its RTMP or custom RTMP destination, if that option is available in your installed version.
- Enter YouTube’s server URL in the destination/server URL field and the YouTube stream key in the matching stream-key field.
- Save or confirm the destination using the controls shown in your app. Start the broadcast from CameraFi and check the Live Control Room for the incoming stream before you rely on it being live to viewers.
CameraFi’s published materials do not verify the current mobile labels or a precise tap-by-tap route. For a version-specific screen guide, use CameraFi’s current in-app help or contact its support. Its FAQ’s tutorial listing is explicitly for streaming from a PC, so it should not be treated as confirmation of the mobile interface: CameraFi tutorials and FAQ.

How this differs from CameraFi’s documented YouTube sign-in flow
| Detail | Account-connected YouTube flow | Manual RTMP setup |
|---|---|---|
| CameraFi connection | CameraFi’s July 2025 guide says to select YouTube and sign in. | Select RTMP/custom RTMP if the installed app offers it; mobile screens are not verified in the available CameraFi documentation. |
| Where the stream is created | For “Go Live Now,” CameraFi’s guide says to create a stream through YouTube Live Control Room. | Create or select the stream in YouTube Studio/Live Control Room, then copy its connection details. |
| Manual credentials | The described flow connects by signing in; the guide does not describe manually entering a server URL and key for this route. | Enter both YouTube’s server URL and stream key in the corresponding encoder fields. |
| Mobile sequence established? | CameraFi’s July 2025 guide documents the account-connected route. | No exact current mobile tap sequence or Android/iOS parity is established by the cited CameraFi materials. |
Troubleshooting
CameraFi has no RTMP or custom RTMP option
The installed version may not expose the destination described in the general workflow, or its controls may differ. Check current in-app help or CameraFi support; do not substitute an unrelated field or assume the PC tutorial applies to mobile.
YouTube does not show an incoming stream
Confirm that you selected the intended stream in YouTube Studio and copied both its server URL and key accurately. Check that the key belongs to that stream and has not been changed. Re-enter the values in the corresponding RTMP fields, then start the broadcast again.

The key may have been exposed
Replace or reset it in YouTube Studio, then update the value in CameraFi. Do not continue using a credential that has been shared publicly.
