Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteWindows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo keep videos in a fixed order on a continuous YouTube stream, put their filenames in that order in an FFmpeg concat-demuxer list, then loop that list as the input. This works best when every file has matching streams, codecs and time bases; mixed media may need to be normalized or concatenated with FFmpeg’s filter and re-encoded. The command below is an adaptable example, not a tested, universal recipe.
1. Put the videos in the intended playback order
Create a plain-text file such as playlist.txt, with one file line per video. The order of these entries is the order FFmpeg will use:
file 'intro.mp4'
file 'chapter-01.mp4'
file 'chapter-02.mp4'
file 'outro.mp4'
Save the list where FFmpeg can find it, or use absolute paths. Avoid relying on a shell wildcard if the expansion order might not match your intended sequence; inspect the list itself before streaming. For filenames with quotes or unusual characters, follow the escaping rules in the FFmpeg concat-demuxer documentation.
2. Make sure the files can be concatenated
The concat demuxer is not a general-purpose playlist reader for arbitrary media. FFmpeg’s formats documentation says the files should have matching streams, codecs and time bases. If files differ in resolution, frame rate, codec or audio layout, a boundary may stall, fail or behave unexpectedly even when the list order is correct.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Option A: Normalize first, then use the concat demuxer
Convert source files ahead of time so they share a compatible stream layout and timing profile, then list those normalized files in the demuxer input. This takes preparation time and storage for intermediate files, but can reduce the work required during the live session.
Option B: Use the concat filter and re-encode
When inputs need to be decoded and processed to make their streams compatible, FFmpeg’s FAQ identifies the concat filter as the re-encoding route. It uses more processing and requires an encoding-quality decision; exact filter syntax depends on the media and desired output. Neither approach guarantees seamless transitions solely because the file order is right.

3. Loop the ordered list and send it to YouTube
For compatible, pre-normalized files, this is an illustrative command shape. Adapt and validate it with your installed FFmpeg version, input files and YouTube’s current recommendations; it was not tested as a universal recipe.
ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -f concat -safe 0 -i playlist.txt
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -b:v 4500k -maxrate 4500k -bufsize 9000k
-g 60 -keyint_min 60 -sc_threshold 0
-c:a aac -b:a 128k -f flv "rtmps://SERVER/APP/STREAM_KEY"
-stream_loop -1repeats the input indefinitely;-f concatselects the concat demuxer.-rereads the files at their native rate rather than sending them as fast as possible.-g 60sets a GOP of 60 frames. At 30 fps, that is a two-second keyframe interval; if you use another frame rate, recalculate the GOP length.-b:v,-maxrateand-bufsizeare illustrative values, not universal YouTube settings. Replace them with values appropriate to the output resolution, frame rate, codec and available upload capacity.- Replace the example RTMPS destination with the server URL and stream key shown in YouTube Live Control Room. Never publish or expose a real stream key in a command, screenshot or public log.
FFmpeg options apply to the next input or output, so their placement matters: input options and the input URL go before output encoding and the destination URL. Check the FFmpeg documentation for option scope and ordering. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encrypted ingestion; see its RTMPS guidance.

4. Match the output to YouTube’s current encoder guidance
YouTube’s live encoder settings page recommends a two-second keyframe interval and says not to exceed four seconds. It lists CBR and AAC or MP3 audio among its RTMP/RTMPS settings. Its bitrate recommendations vary by resolution, frame rate and codec, so use the current table rather than treating the example command’s bitrate as a preset. When retrieved on October 3, 2026, the English page listed H.264 recommendations of 14 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 17 Mbps for 1080p at 60 fps; check the live page before relying on those figures because platform guidance can change.
Upload capacity also matters: the connection must sustain the outgoing stream. A bitrate that meets a platform recommendation can still be unstable if the available upload rate is insufficient or varies significantly.

5. Test playback and check stream health
Before the intended broadcast, run a private or otherwise safe test with representative moving video and audio. In YouTube Live Control Room, check stream health and any messages. YouTube specifically recommends testing with audio and moving video and monitoring health during the event.
- If videos play in the wrong order, open
playlist.txtand check the entries and paths. - If playback stalls or breaks at a file boundary, check stream compatibility, timestamps and duration metadata; normalize the files or use a concat-filter workflow where appropriate.
- If YouTube reports ingestion trouble, compare the actual output codec, frame rate, keyframe interval, bitrate and audio codec against its current recommendations, and check upload capacity. A boundary problem is not necessarily an ordering problem.
6. Choose the workflow that fits your files and machine
| Approach | Best fit | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Normalize, then concat demuxer | Files can be prepared to share the required stream properties. | Requires conversion ahead of time and storage for normalized intermediates. |
| Concat filter and re-encode | Files differ and need decoded processing to create a consistent sequence. | Requires more compute and an encoding-quality decision; exact settings depend on the media. |
FFmpeg’s FAQ distinguishes the demuxer from the concat filter and protocol; for a sequence that must be decoded and re-encoded, it points to the filter. The practical choice depends on how much the files vary and whether conversion can happen before the stream.
