Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →To loop a recorded Hindi class into YouTube Live, run FFmpeg on an always-on computer or server with -stream_loop -1 before the input file, then send the encoded output to the stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Looping repeats the media; it does not guarantee 24/7 uptime. You also need a stable upload connection, a plan for recovery and monitoring, and a separate archive strategy.
What you need before you start
- A computer or server that can stay on, run FFmpeg continuously, and sustain the required upload bandwidth.
- A recorded class file with compatible video and audio streams. Use
ffprobeto inspect the file before streaming. - A YouTube encoder stream, including its stream URL and stream key.
- Permission to stream the class and all material it contains, including appearances, slides, textbook pages, clips, and music.
Hindi itself does not require special FFmpeg settings. Choose settings based on the recording’s codecs, resolution, frame rate, audio, and available upload capacity. If the lesson includes Devanagari titles or overlays, check that the fonts render correctly in the actual file or graphics pipeline.
Configure the YouTube stream
- In YouTube Studio, create or select an encoder stream and copy the stream URL and stream key shown for it.
- Treat the key like a password. Do not put it in public examples, screenshots, logs, or repositories. If it is exposed, reset it in Live Control Room.
- Use the current YouTube encoder settings for the resolution, frame rate, and codec you plan to send. YouTube recommends RTMPS, CBR, and keyframes every two seconds; do not exceed four seconds. The listed video codecs include H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1, and audio codecs include AAC and MP3.
- For stereo audio, YouTube recommends 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps. Its H.264 examples include 4 Mbps for 720p30, 14 Mbps for 1080p30, and 17 Mbps for 1080p60. These are specific rows, not universal bitrates; consult the current encoder settings table for your exact codec and frame rate.
Leave upload headroom above the selected bitrate so ordinary network variation does not consume all available capacity. YouTube advises testing the stream before going live; check its encoder settings and streaming tips at YouTube’s live encoder settings and streaming tips.
Inspect the recording
Use ffprobe from the FFmpeg installation to confirm the file has the expected video and audio streams, and note their codecs, dimensions, frame rate, and sample rate. The example below assumes a conventional MP4 with video and audio. It re-encodes to H.264 and AAC to provide a straightforward starting point; it is illustrative, not a tested or universally optimal configuration.

Start an indefinite loop with FFmpeg
ffmpeg -re -stream_loop -1 -i "class.mp4"
-c:v libx264 -preset veryfast -pix_fmt yuv420p
-r 30 -g 60 -b:v 4500k -maxrate 4500k -bufsize 9000k
-c:a aac -b:a 128k -ar 44100
-f flv "rtmp://YOUR_SERVER_URL/YOUR_STREAM_KEY"
Replace the destination with the exact stream URL and key from YouTube Studio. Prefer the RTMPS endpoint when supported by your encoder and the endpoint configuration. In the example, -stream_loop -1 repeats the input indefinitely and must appear before the input it applies to. -re reads the file at its normal playback rate rather than sending it as fast as possible.
The example’s -g 60 means a 60-frame GOP: at 30 fps, that is a two-second keyframe interval. If you change the frame rate, recalculate the GOP so the interval remains appropriate; 60 is not a universal setting. The sample’s 4.5 Mbps video bitrate is not a general YouTube recommendation. Set bitrate, frame rate, and resolution to match the actual source and YouTube’s current table, then confirm the sustained upload can handle them.

If the file’s codecs and timestamps are suitable, stream-copying instead of re-encoding may reduce CPU demand. Validate the loop carefully: some files can reveal timestamp or codec problems at the loop boundary. Test privately or unlisted before a public broadcast. If the recording has no audio, do not assume an audio-less feed will be accepted or sound right; add a deliberate audio stream and verify the result in Live Control Room.
Verify the live feed in YouTube Studio
- Start FFmpeg and wait for the incoming preview and stream-health indicators in Live Control Room.
- Start the event in Live Control Room if the selected stream settings require it.
- Watch and listen to a representative portion, including a loop boundary. Check the video, audio, and stream health, then test playback on the devices your students are likely to use.
- Run an unlisted test before relying on the setup for a public, continuous channel.
YouTube’s setup guidance explains the encoder workflow and stream-key handling at Set up your encoder for live streaming.

Keep FFmpeg running and recover from interruptions
A loop is a media operation, not an uptime guarantee. The computer or server, power, network, FFmpeg process, and YouTube ingest can all interrupt a continuous feed. Keep an eye on the process and stream health, plan how a crashed process will restart, and test recovery behavior before depending on it. A restarted connection may create a new YouTube event depending on the stream configuration.
FFmpeg documents a FIFO output recovery example using -attempt_recovery 1 and -recovery_wait_time 1 for temporary network failures. This can help retry output, but it does not guarantee uninterrupted streaming. A process supervisor can restart a crashed FFmpeg process; configure and test that behavior for your operating system and event setup. Keep the original recordings and, if the lessons matter, a local recording or other backup.

A local machine avoids hosting costs but depends on your home or school power, connection, and maintenance. A hosted VPS or dedicated server can keep a process off-site, but still requires bandwidth planning, storage, key security, FFmpeg maintenance, monitoring, and recovery planning. Neither option is an official YouTube requirement.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Plan around YouTube’s archive limit
A continuous live feed and a complete replay are different things. YouTube says streams under 12 hours can be archived automatically, while streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all; DVR rewind can also be limited or unavailable on streams over 12 hours. If preserving every lesson replay matters, schedule shorter sessions under the documented threshold, use separate events where appropriate, and maintain a local recording as backup. See YouTube’s live stream archive guidance and DVR settings guidance.

Check rights before broadcasting recorded classes
YouTube’s livestream terms require compliance with Community Guidelines and state that the content provider warrants having the rights needed for worldwide use of live and archived content, including music licensing rights. Educational use does not automatically clear copyright. Confirm permission for teacher and student appearances, course slides, textbook pages, embedded videos, background music, and other third-party material before streaming. Read YouTube’s Terms of Service.
Troubleshoot common problems
- YouTube does not receive a signal: Confirm FFmpeg is still running, the destination uses the exact stream URL and key, and the machine has outbound connectivity. Check the preview and health indicators in Live Control Room. Reset the key if it may have been exposed.
- The stream buffers or reports poor health: Check sustained upload capacity and network stability. Lower the output resolution or bitrate to a matching row in YouTube’s current settings table, and leave upload headroom.
- Video or audio is missing: Recheck the input streams with
ffprobeand inspect the encoded preview. Supply a deliberate audio stream if the source lacks one; do not assume an audio-less feed is suitable. - The loop stutters or breaks at the join: Test the source file’s codecs and timestamps, try re-encoding rather than stream-copying, and inspect the transition in an unlisted test.
- FFmpeg stops after a network interruption or crash: Use and test a recovery strategy such as FFmpeg’s FIFO recovery options for temporary output failures, plus a supervisor for process crashes. Confirm what happens to the YouTube event after reconnection.
- The live stream exists but the replay is incomplete or absent: Check the stream duration against YouTube’s under-12-hour archive guidance. Use shorter planned sessions and a local recording when complete replays are important.
Or let it run in the cloud
