For the games, the simplest franchise tour is release order: start with Battlefield 1942 and continue through Battlefield 6. The series is not one continuous story, so you can also jump straight into the latest game if you want a current entry point.
Can you watch the Battlefield movie yet?
No confirmed release date, distributor, theater schedule, streaming service, or rental option has been announced in the reporting available as of October 3, 2026. GamesRadar reports that Christopher McQuarrie is attached to write and direct, with Michael B. Jordan producing and possibly starring; its report says the project has not yet found a home. PC Gamer reported in April 2026 that it was being pitched to studios and streaming platforms. These are reported project details, not an official EA or studio release announcement. A project being pitched is not the same as a film being greenlit for release. Until a distributor or platform confirms a home and date, there is nowhere verified to watch it.
Battlefield games in release order
For a newcomer, release order gives the clearest sense of how the franchise’s settings and styles changed over time. The list below covers principal full releases, not every spin-off, expansion, or mobile project. It is a practical release-order path, not an in-universe timeline or a sequence of chapters in one continuous story. EA’s Battlefield catalog presents current franchise entries; historical ordering is drawn from chronology references. IGN · GamesRadar
