Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 has already aired. The showcase took place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, ahead of Gamescom’s public event in Cologne. You can watch the official full replay on YouTube or check the Gamescom video archive.
The roughly two-hour presentation was hosted by Geoff Keighley, with Sjokz also associated with the broadcast. It included new footage for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, Hollow Knight: Silksong, The Outer Worlds 2 and others, alongside reveals such as LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4.

When did it originally air?
Opening Night Live began on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, one day before Gamescom opened to the public. The pre-show started 30 minutes before the main presentation.

The main presentation was expected to last approximately two hours. Gamescom itself ran from August 20 through August 24, 2025; Opening Night Live was the separate kickoff showcase on August 19.

The pre-event announcement also promised a first look at Fallout Season 2 and a musical performance connected to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. This was a confirmed-before-the-show list, not a complete running order. A confirmed appearance did not guarantee a lengthy gameplay demonstration.

- LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight: The new game was revealed for 2026.
- Black Myth: Zhong Kui: Game Science announced a new action RPG.
- Lords of the Fallen 2: The sequel was announced for 2026.
- Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4: The real-time strategy sequel was revealed.
- New Ghostrunner-developed Soulslike: A first-person Soulslike project was shown.
- Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2: The game received an October 21, 2025 release date.
- Hollow Knight: Silksong: New footage appeared during the show. A separate, larger announcement was scheduled for August 21, so the Opening Night Live footage should not be confused with that later presentation.
- Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV: A crossover was shown.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops 7: The show opened with campaign, multiplayer and Zombies material.
- The Outer Worlds 2: New gameplay and companion characters were featured.
- Ninja Gaiden 4: The presentation included a story trailer and gameplay details.
- Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Order of Giants: New gameplay footage was shown.
- Keeper: Double Fine’s surreal adventure was featured.
- World of Warcraft: Midnight: Blizzard presented a cinematic trailer.
- Fallout Season 2: A teaser trailer was shown.
These were among the principal announcements. The presentation also contained additional trailers and updates, so viewers looking for every segment should use the complete replay or the full announcement roundup.

What else happened during Gamescom week?
Opening Night Live was not the entire Gamescom news schedule. Xbox planned separate show-floor broadcasts for August 20 and 21, beginning at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 3 p.m. CEST. Those streams included gameplay, interviews, trailers and updates.
Xbox’s follow-up coverage was available through its YouTube, Twitch, TikTok and Facebook channels. Bethesda and other partners also had additional programming during the week. Consequently, no single Opening Night Live replay contains every announcement made at Gamescom 2025.
