HSR 4.0 Release Date & Maintenance End Time (Honkai Star Rail 4.0)

Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 isn’t just another routine version update—it’s a full-scale turning point for the game’s live-service roadmap, and one that directly impacts how players plan their pulls, stamina usage, and login schedules. HoYoverse has officially locked Version 4.0 for release on July 9, 2026, following the standard maintenance window that veteran Trailblazers know all too well. If you’re optimizing banners or squeezing every Stellar Jade from early login rewards, the timing of this patch matters more than usual.

Maintenance for Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 is scheduled to begin at 06:00 (UTC+8) and is expected to last around five hours. Servers are slated to come back online at approximately 11:00 (UTC+8), assuming no unexpected extensions. That translates to July 8 at 20:00 PT, 23:00 ET, 04:00 BST, and 05:00 CEST, making this a late-night or early-morning login depending on your region.

Why the 4.0 Timing Is So Important

Version 4.0 sits at a major inflection point in Star Rail’s content cadence, where HoYoverse traditionally escalates both narrative stakes and mechanical complexity. This is the kind of patch where new systems, not just new characters, reshape team-building priorities and future-proof certain DPS or support archetypes. Logging in as soon as servers go live gives players a head start on limited-time events that often frontload premium currency and trace materials.

Banner timing is another critical factor. Version launches are when new limited characters and Light Cones enter the pool, and early access means earlier testing, theorycrafting, and decision-making before RNG locks in your pity. For players sitting on guaranteed pulls or hovering near soft pity, being online at maintenance end can be the difference between pulling day-one or reacting to early meta impressions.

Preload, Downtime, and Compensation Expectations

As with previous major updates, HoYoverse is expected to roll out a preload several days before maintenance begins. Pre-installing the 4.0 client dramatically reduces downtime on patch day and ensures you’re ready the moment servers reopen. Mobile players in particular will want to take advantage of this to avoid store-side delays when traffic spikes.

Compensation will follow the usual structure: Stellar Jade awarded per hour of maintenance, alongside additional rewards for any bug fixes addressed in the patch notes. These Jades are sent directly to in-game mail and can be claimed immediately after logging in, making them a small but meaningful boost toward first-day pulls. For a milestone patch like 4.0, every free summon counts, especially with banners that could define the meta for months to come.

HSR 4.0 Official Release Date – Global Launch Window Explained

HoYoverse has locked Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 into its standard six-week patch cadence, with servers expected to go live immediately after maintenance concludes on July 9 at approximately 11:00 (UTC+8). As with all major Star Rail updates, this is a simultaneous global launch, meaning every region gains access the moment servers flip back on.

Because the game runs on a unified server schedule rather than staggered regional rollouts, your real-world login time depends entirely on your time zone. For many players, especially in the West, Version 4.0 effectively launches the night before the listed in-game date.

Exact HSR 4.0 Release Time by Region

If maintenance ends on schedule, Version 4.0 should become playable at the following local times. Pacific Time players can expect servers to reopen around July 8 at 20:00, while those on Eastern Time should see access at roughly 23:00 the same night. In the UK, that translates to 04:00 BST on July 9, with Central Europe coming in slightly later at 05:00 CEST.

Asia-Pacific players benefit from the cleanest timing. Japan and Korea typically see servers return around midday, making Version 4.0 a true launch-day experience rather than a late-night scramble. This consistency is intentional and mirrors every previous flagship Star Rail update.

What Happens the Moment Servers Go Live

Once maintenance ends, all Version 4.0 content unlocks instantly. New banners go live, events begin tracking progress, and compensation mail hits your inbox the moment you log in. There’s no drip-feed on launch day, so being online at server reset means immediate access to pulls, stamina usage, and early event rewards.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

This is especially relevant for players planning to test new characters or Light Cones right away. Early gameplay impressions, damage benchmarks, and team synergies start circulating within hours, so logging in at launch lets you stay ahead of the meta curve instead of reacting to it days later.

Why the Global Launch Window Matters for Pull Planning

Because banners activate the second servers come back online, the maintenance end time effectively defines pull day. Players sitting on guaranteed pity, soft pity ranges, or limited Stellar Jade budgets will want to align their login with server uptime to avoid missing early banner momentum or time-limited bonuses tied to launch events.

There’s also a psychological edge. Day-one pulls give you maximum time to evaluate performance across Memory of Chaos cycles, Pure Fiction rotations, and event combat modifiers before committing further resources. In a milestone patch like 4.0, timing isn’t just convenience—it directly impacts how efficiently you spend every Jade.

Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 Maintenance Schedule & Exact End Times by Region

With Version 4.0 being a milestone update, HoYoverse is sticking to its familiar maintenance cadence. Servers are expected to go offline simultaneously across all regions, followed by a synchronized global relaunch once maintenance concludes. If you’ve played through past major patches, the rhythm here should feel immediately familiar.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Official Maintenance Window

Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 maintenance is scheduled to begin on July 8 at 15:00 UTC and is expected to last approximately five hours. While HoYoverse always notes that maintenance may end earlier or later depending on technical conditions, flagship updates almost always land right on schedule.

During this downtime, all game modes are inaccessible. That includes daily activities, Trailblaze Power spending, Simulated Universe runs, and any last-minute banner pulls, so make sure everything important is wrapped up beforehand.

Exact Server Reopen Times by Region

Assuming maintenance runs its full duration, Version 4.0 servers should come back online at the following local times:

Pacific Time (PT): July 8 at 20:00
Eastern Time (ET): July 8 at 23:00
British Summer Time (BST): July 9 at 04:00
Central European Summer Time (CEST): July 9 at 05:00
Japan Standard Time (JST): July 9 at 12:00
Korea Standard Time (KST): July 9 at 12:00
China Standard Time (UTC+8): July 9 at 11:00

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

These times represent the moment you can log in, claim maintenance compensation, and immediately start pulling or progressing through new content.

Preload Availability and What to Do Before Downtime

The Version 4.0 preload typically goes live 48 hours before maintenance begins. Downloading it ahead of time significantly reduces patching delays once servers reopen, especially on mobile devices where file verification can bottleneck login attempts.

Before maintenance starts, it’s smart to burn excess Trailblaze Power, complete weekly objectives, and finish any limited-time events tied to Version 3.x. Once servers go down, there’s no grace period, and unspent resources are simply lost to the clock.

Maintenance Compensation and Launch-Day Rewards

As with every major update, players will receive Stellar Jade compensation for server downtime, delivered directly via in-game mail after logging in. The standard rate applies per hour of maintenance, and Version 4.0 may also include additional mail tied to new-system launches or anniversary-style celebrations.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

That compensation is immediately usable on active banners, which is why logging in as soon as servers go live matters. Those extra Jades can be the difference between hitting soft pity on day one or falling just short during the opening pull window.

Why These Times Are Critical for Banners and Events

Because banners, events, and endgame rotations all activate the instant maintenance ends, these regional times effectively define the start of Version 4.0. Memory of Chaos cycles, Pure Fiction scoring windows, and limited-time launch events all begin tracking progress from that moment forward.

For players planning early testing, theorycrafting, or content clears, being online at server reopen means maximum uptime. In a patch this large, every hour matters, whether you’re chasing optimal DPS benchmarks or just trying to stay ahead of the community curve.

What Happens When Servers Go Live – Patch 4.0 Unlock Order and Reset Details

The moment Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 maintenance ends, everything goes live simultaneously. There’s no staggered rollout or delayed banner activation, which means players logging in during the first minutes have full access to every new system, banner, and event tied to the update.

For reference, servers reopen globally at the same instant, even though local clocks differ. That translates to July 9 at 11:00 (UTC+8), July 9 at 04:00 (UTC+1), and July 8 at 20:00 (UTC-7), which is especially important for NA players planning late-night pulls or early-morning clears.

Immediate Unlock Priority: What Loads First

Once you’re past the title screen, the game prioritizes system-wide activations before dropping you back into the Astral Express. New banners, including Phase 1 limited Warp characters and Light Cones, are active immediately and can be pulled the second you claim maintenance mail.

Core patch systems, like new progression mechanics or UI overhauls introduced in 4.0, are also live on login. If a new Path, combat mode, or account-wide feature is launching, it will be accessible right away without needing story completion, unless explicitly gated.

Story Content, Maps, and Progression Gates

Main Trailblaze Missions tied to Version 4.0 unlock after a brief in-game prompt, usually following a short onboarding sequence. New regions and explorable maps are accessible as soon as you accept the quest, though some sub-areas may remain locked behind story checkpoints.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If 4.0 introduces branching story paths or difficulty scaling, those systems activate alongside the questline. There’s no daily delay here, meaning hardcore players can push story completion on day one to unlock farming routes and hidden mechanics ahead of the curve.

Daily, Weekly, and Endgame Reset Behavior

One critical detail: daily resets do not trigger at maintenance end. Dailies, Express Supply Pass, and Trailblaze Power regeneration still follow the standard server reset time, so logging in early doesn’t give you double value on those systems.

Weekly modes like Simulated Universe, Memory of Chaos, and Pure Fiction, however, immediately swap to their new Version 4.0 rotations if a reset is scheduled alongside the patch. That means first-clear rewards, scoring windows, and leaderboard pacing all start counting from the moment servers reopen.

Events, Limited Rewards, and Why Timing Matters

Launch events tied to Version 4.0 begin tracking progress instantly. Whether it’s a limited-time login campaign, point-based combat event, or exploration challenge, early logins maximize your available days and reduce pressure later in the patch.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For gacha-focused players, this timing is everything. Maintenance compensation plus launch rewards funnel straight into the opening banner window, letting you test RNG early, adjust pull plans, and decide whether to commit resources or wait for Phase 2 without losing momentum.

Preload, Download Size, and How to Prepare Before Maintenance

With events, banners, and endgame rotations all going live the moment servers reopen, the last thing you want is to be stuck staring at a download bar. Version 4.0 is a major milestone update, and preparing ahead of maintenance directly affects how fast you can jump into pulls, story progression, and early farming routes.

Version 4.0 Preload Timing and Availability

Hoyoverse typically enables preloads 48 hours before maintenance begins, and Version 4.0 follows that same pattern. Once preload is live, you can download the bulk of the patch data from the launcher or in-game menu without disrupting your current Version 3.x play.

Rank #3
Honkai: Star Rail Evernight-themed Impression Series Shoulder Bag
  • Honkai: Star Rail Evernight-themed Impression Series Shoulder Bag

Preloading does not unlock content early, but it dramatically shortens login time once servers go live. When maintenance ends, you’ll only need a small verification update instead of a full install, which is crucial if you’re logging in right at reset to secure early banner pulls or leaderboard attempts.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Expected Download Size Across Platforms

Version 4.0 is a full-number update, meaning the download size is significantly larger than a standard mid-cycle patch. Based on previous .0 versions, players should expect approximately 8–10 GB on PC, around 7–9 GB on PlayStation 5, and 4–6 GB on mobile depending on language packs installed.

Mobile players should double-check available storage before preloading, as the game temporarily requires extra space during decompression. If you’re close to your device limit, clearing cache files or uninstalling unused apps beforehand can prevent failed installs and last-minute scrambling.

Maintenance Schedule and Server Reopen Times

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 maintenance is scheduled to begin at 06:00 (UTC+8) and lasts approximately five hours. If everything runs on schedule, servers are expected to reopen at 11:00 (UTC+8).

That translates to 20:00 PDT / 23:00 EDT on the previous day for North America, 04:00 BST for the UK, and 05:00 CEST for most of Europe. As always, maintenance can end slightly early or late, but banners, events, and Version 4.0 systems activate immediately when servers come back online.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Maintenance Compensation and Why It Ties Into Preloading

Hoyoverse awards Stellar Jade for maintenance downtime, usually calculated at 60 Jade per hour, delivered directly to your in-game mailbox once you log in. For a five-hour maintenance window, that’s typically 300 Stellar Jade, and those rewards are time-limited, expiring after the patch cycle.

If you haven’t preloaded, you’re effectively delaying access to free pulls and launch banners while others are already testing RNG and adjusting strategies. Preloading ensures you can claim compensation instantly and funnel those resources straight into Version 4.0’s opening Warp phase.

Final Prep Checklist Before Servers Go Down

Before maintenance starts, spend any capped Trailblaze Power, complete weekly activities close to reset, and finalize your pull plans so you’re not making rushed decisions post-login. Screenshot your pity count, track guaranteed status, and review upcoming banners so you know exactly where those maintenance Jades are going.

Most importantly, enable preload, verify your internet connection, and plan your login window around maintenance end. Version launches are where momentum matters most in Honkai: Star Rail, and being ready means you’re playing the patch on your terms, not waiting on a progress bar.

Banner Timing in Patch 4.0 – Character, Light Cone, and Pull Strategy Implications

With maintenance ending at 11:00 (UTC+8), all Version 4.0 banners go live the moment servers reopen. There’s no staggered rollout or delay window, which means your first login after downtime is also your first chance to pull. For players who preloaded and planned ahead, this is where preparation immediately turns into tangible account progress.

Banner timing matters more than ever in Honkai: Star Rail because early pulls shape how you engage with the entire patch. Whether you’re chasing a new DPS, a premium support, or a must-have Light Cone, those first few hours set the tone for resource allocation and team-building decisions.

Phase 1 Banners and Day-One Pull Pressure

Patch 4.0’s Phase 1 character and Light Cone Warps begin instantly when servers reopen and typically run for the first half of the patch. This is when hype is at its peak, content creators are testing builds live, and early meta impressions start spreading fast. If you’re sitting on guaranteed pity or close to soft pity, day-one pulls can immediately unlock new playstyles for Version 4.0 content.

This timing also overlaps with maintenance compensation, daily login resets for some regions, and any launch events that award Stellar Jade. Smart players funnel all of those resources into Phase 1 banners right away, maximizing pull count before deciding whether to commit deeper or pivot to Phase 2.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Light Cone Banners and Risk Assessment

Light Cone banners launching alongside new characters create a classic temptation trap. Signature Light Cones often offer massive performance spikes, but they also come with harsher RNG and opportunity cost. Pulling on them immediately can be optimal for meta-focused players, but only if your character roster is already stable.

If you’re free-to-play or light-spending, banner timing suggests waiting a few days after launch. Early testing will confirm whether a signature Light Cone is truly build-defining or just a luxury upgrade, helping you avoid burning Stellar Jade before the meta settles.

Phase 2 Planning and Patch-Wide Resource Flow

Because banners activate the moment maintenance ends, the clock for Phase 1 starts ticking immediately. That makes Phase 2 planning something you should already have in mind before logging in, especially if reruns or long-awaited characters are expected later in the patch. Every pull spent early reduces flexibility later.

Version 4.0’s banner timing rewards patience just as much as decisiveness. Knowing exactly when banners go live, how long each phase lasts, and how maintenance compensation feeds into your pull count lets you control RNG instead of reacting to it. In a gacha game built on timing, that control is a real advantage.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Events, Daily Activities, and Missable Rewards Around Maintenance

The moment Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 maintenance ends, the game flips multiple switches at once. Banners go live, launch events unlock, and daily systems begin counting toward limited-time rewards. This overlap is where players either gain a quiet advantage or accidentally leave Stellar Jade on the table.

Understanding what resets, what doesn’t, and what’s only available in the opening window is just as important as knowing who to pull for.

Maintenance End Time and Why the First Login Matters

Version 4.0 servers are expected to come back online around 11:00 AM UTC after the standard five-hour maintenance window. That translates to roughly 7:00 AM ET, 4:00 AM PT, 12:00 PM CET, and 8:00 PM JST. If servers come up early, everything unlocks immediately with no staggered rollout.

Logging in as soon as maintenance ends lets you claim compensation mail before any daily rollover conflicts. For some regions, this timing can overlap with daily reset, meaning a delayed login risks missing one full day of daily activity progress during launch events.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Maintenance Compensation and Time-Sensitive Mail

Hoyoverse consistently rewards maintenance downtime with Stellar Jade, usually sent via in-game mail the instant servers reopen. This mail has an expiration timer, typically 30 days, but players who don’t log in early lose the ability to immediately convert that Jade into Phase 1 pulls.

That matters because maintenance compensation often pushes players over soft pity thresholds. If you’re sitting at 60–70 pity before downtime, claiming compensation and launch rewards together can completely change your pull strategy on day one.

Launch Events That Start the Moment Servers Go Live

Major patch events tied to Version 4.0 usually begin the second maintenance ends, not at daily reset. These events often include time-gated objectives, first-day login bonuses, or limited weekly point caps that favor early participation.

Starting immediately ensures you’re not forced to binge content later or miss capped progress. Meta-focused players especially benefit, since early event rewards often include upgrade materials needed to test new DPS units or Light Cones right away.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Daily Training, Nameless Honor, and Reset Traps

Daily Training activity does not pause for maintenance. Depending on your region, maintenance may occur before or after your daily reset, which can create a one-day gap if you don’t log in carefully.

Nameless Honor weekly caps are also active during patch launch weeks. Players who wait too long after maintenance risk compressing their Battle Pass progress into fewer days, making it harder to hit level milestones without spending fuel or Stellar Jade.

Preload Benefits and Day-One Stability

If you completed the Version 4.0 preload before maintenance, your post-downtime experience is smoother and faster. That means quicker access to banners, fewer asset downloads, and less risk of login congestion during peak hours.

For players planning immediate pulls or testing new characters, preload isn’t just convenience. It’s a competitive edge that ensures you’re spending time optimizing builds instead of staring at download bars while early impressions and team comps flood social feeds.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Missable Value During the First 24 Hours

The first day of a new patch quietly stacks value. Maintenance compensation, launch event logins, daily activity, and banner availability all converge into a narrow window. Missing any piece doesn’t break your account, but it does reduce flexibility.

In a gacha economy built on timing, those early Stellar Jade gains directly influence how aggressive or conservative you can be with Phase 1 banners. Version 4.0 doesn’t just reward pulling smart, it rewards showing up on time.

Maintenance Compensation – Stellar Jades, Mail Timing, and Claim Windows

All of that early value converges the moment servers come back online, and maintenance compensation is the first payout Trailblazers should be looking for. Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.0 follows Hoyoverse’s standard compensation structure, rewarding players simply for the downtime required to deploy a major update.

If you’re planning Day One pulls or trying to math out pity thresholds for Phase 1 banners, this mail is not optional bonus currency. It’s part of the patch economy, and timing it correctly matters.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

How Many Stellar Jades to Expect

Based on every major patch precedent, Version 4.0 maintenance compensation is expected to grant 300 Stellar Jades for scheduled server downtime. If any emergency fixes or post-launch bug compensations are issued, those are typically sent as separate mails later.

This baseline 300 Jade payout equals nearly two full pulls, which can be the difference between hitting soft pity or stalling out just short. For players walking into 4.0 banners with tight budgets, that margin is huge.

Maintenance End Time and When Mail Arrives

Honkai: Star Rail 4.0 maintenance is expected to end at 11:00 AM UTC, assuming no extension. That translates to 4:00 AM PT, 7:00 AM ET, 12:00 PM BST, 1:00 PM CEST, and 8:00 PM JST.

The compensation mail does not arrive early. It is delivered only after servers are fully live, meaning you must successfully log in post-maintenance to trigger it. If you’re sitting at the title screen before downtime ends, you’ll still need to re-enter once servers open to receive the mail.

Mail Duration and Claim Window

Maintenance compensation mails typically last 30 days before expiring. That sounds generous, but players who take extended breaks or skip patch launch entirely do occasionally lose unclaimed currency.

Claiming the mail immediately is recommended, especially if you plan to convert Stellar Jades into Special Passes right away. Once claimed, the Jades are permanently added to your account and cannot expire.

Why Compensation Timing Matters for 4.0 Banners

Because Phase 1 banners go live the moment maintenance ends, compensation Stellar Jades are instantly usable for pulls. There’s no delay window, no daily reset requirement, and no event gate.

That means players logging in the minute servers open have maximum flexibility. You can claim compensation, convert passes, and pull before social media tier lists, early clears, or RNG horror stories start shaping perception. In a gacha ecosystem, acting before the noise hits is often the smartest play.

Quick Checklist: What Every Trailblazer Should Do Before and After 4.0 Launch

With maintenance timing, compensation flow, and banner availability now clear, this is where preparation turns into real value. Whether you’re chasing meta-defining units or just trying to stretch limited Stellar Jades, these steps help you extract maximum efficiency from the 4.0 rollout.

Before Maintenance Begins

First, spend your Trailblaze Power. Any overflow during downtime is effectively wasted, especially if you’re sitting near the cap before servers go dark. Burn it on Calyxes, Caverns, or planar sets you know you’ll still need in 4.0.

Next, finish daily and weekly tasks early. Once maintenance starts, unfinished dailies are lost, and weekly objectives don’t roll over. Clearing them beforehand ensures you enter 4.0 with a clean slate and no missed Stellar Jades.

If preload is available on your platform, install it as soon as possible. Preloading drastically reduces login friction at launch and helps you beat the initial server rush. Players who skip this often spend the first hour staring at download bars instead of pulling.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Banner and Resource Prep Before Login

Check your pity count and guarantee status before maintenance. Knowing exactly how close you are to soft pity or a 50/50 flip helps you make calm decisions once banners go live. This is especially important if compensation Jades push you right over a threshold.

Convert standard passes in advance if you’re planning to pull on the permanent banner later. Leave Stellar Jades unconverted until after maintenance so you can react to banner details and kit reveals without locking yourself in too early.

Finally, clear mailbox clutter. While not mandatory, a clean inbox makes it easier to immediately spot maintenance compensation and event rewards the moment servers reopen.

The Moment Servers Go Live

Log in after maintenance officially ends at 11:00 AM UTC. That’s 4:00 AM PT, 7:00 AM ET, 12:00 PM BST, 1:00 PM CEST, and 8:00 PM JST. Logging in even a few minutes early won’t trigger compensation, so wait until servers are fully live.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Immediately claim the maintenance compensation mail. Those 300 Stellar Jades are instantly usable and can be converted into Special Passes with no delay. For many players, this is the difference between hitting soft pity on Day One or needing to wait for events.

Check banners before pulling. Even if you’re excited, confirm phase details, rate-ups, and duration so you don’t misclick or rush into a banner you didn’t plan to commit to.

After Your First Login Session

Review new events and time-limited rewards. Patch launches often include early login bonuses or short-duration events that are easy to miss if you tunnel vision on banners. These rewards add up quickly over the course of the patch.

Re-evaluate your pull plan after initial impressions. Early testing, kit breakdowns, and first-day clears will start circulating fast. You don’t need to follow the crowd, but having more data never hurts when Stellar Jades are scarce.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Finally, pace yourself. Honkai: Star Rail patches are marathons, not sprints. Efficient preparation around maintenance and launch gives you a head start, but long-term value comes from smart spending, consistent logins, and knowing when not to pull.

If you’ve handled everything on this checklist, you’re entering Version 4.0 in full control. And in a gacha game where timing is everything, that advantage is worth more than any single pull.
