IKEA announced BRÄNNBOLL, a 20-item gaming collection designed for flexible play around the home and to fit everyday living when gaming stops. The company said it would launch across its markets in September 2024; that announcement does not confirm what is in stock or sold in any market today.
What is IKEA BRÄNNBOLL?
BRÄNNBOLL is IKEA’s gaming collection, announced by IKEA’s global newsroom on 15 April 2024. IKEA described it as a 20-item range spanning furniture, storage solutions and accessories, intended to help create a comfortable gaming setup that can blend into the home when not in use. IKEA’s announcement positioned the collection for casual gamers who value style and function and want to play together across different devices, spaces and postures.
How the collection is meant to fit into the home
The central idea is flexibility: rather than treating gaming as an activity confined to a dedicated room or fixed desk, IKEA presented BRÄNNBOLL as furniture and accessories for play around the home. The collection was also designed with ordinary living in mind, so its items could remain part of the home when gaming was over.
Designer David Wahl of IKEA of Sweden described one chair’s design inspiration this way: “Drawing inspiration from how people move when they play video games, I wanted to create a chair that activates the player, to enhance this interaction. This connection between the player and the game can hopefully lead to a more engaging and immersive experience”.

What IKEA said about launch timing
IKEA announced that BRÄNNBOLL would launch across all IKEA markets in September 2024. IKEA Canada separately described the range as mobile, flexible furniture for gaming around the home and said it was releasing in September 2024. That Canadian notice corroborates the announced timeframe for that market, but neither announcement establishes present-day stock, local pricing or availability for an individual product. Check the IKEA store or website for your country for current listings.
What the announcement does—and does not—tell you
- Collection scope: IKEA announced 20 items across furniture, storage solutions and accessories.
- Product-level detail: The announcement describes the range broadly; it does not provide a complete item-by-item list or specifications for every product.
- Choosing an item: If products are listed in your market, compare their intended use for gaming and everyday living, mobility and flexibility, storage needs, form factor, and local price and availability. Confirm product specifications and current listings locally rather than inferring them from the launch announcement.
IKEA’s 3.3 billion gamer figure
IKEA’s April 2024 announcement described the global gaming community as numbering 3.3 billion. The announcement did not name an underlying study or original statistical publisher, so this should be understood as a figure attributed to IKEA, not as an independently verified count.

- Most Comfortable And Relaxing: Equipped with headrest and lumbar pillow. When your neck feels sore from gaming or working with head down for a long time, the headrest will relieve your fatigue. When tired from maintaining a same sitting posture, please rest assured to lean back and charge your waist pillow, it will relax your tired waist energetically.
- More Stable Than Others: Common gaming chairs are equipped with plastic legs generally to save costs, but we still insist on applying the same material as the built-in metal frame. No fear of high or low temperature, no fear of the sunshine, no fear of wind, it will not rust and break. Whether child rolls on the chair or a pet jumps up excitedly, the sturdy metal legs will keep the chair stable firmly.
- Liberate Your Feet: Will you feel tired for sitting all the time? Sure. Then you can choose the chair with footrest to relax your feet. When you don’t want to straighten your back and sit, just take out the footrest, put your feet up, turn on your favorite music, and start enjoying the comfort! And don’t worry about clean, it is also made of high-quality PU leather, just wipe it with a soft cloth and it will shine as new.
- Reject Short-Lived Chairs: We never hesitate to apply materials. Armrests must be padded from the position of the elbow to the wrist, built-in metal frame must be wider, and the foam under the leather must be rich, it can’t collapse as if we are sitting on a hard stone when leaning up. The chair has gone through thousands of rotation and sitting experiments before mass production. Sufficient and premium materials can ensure the chair to withstand long-term use.
