You can rebroadcast Minecraft gameplay VODs as a scheduled YouTube Live stream from India using YouTube Studio and an encoder—but being able to stream a VOD does not mean YouTube will approve the channel for monetization. Build each broadcast around clear creator input and meaningful variation, clear the rights to every audio track, and treat YouTube’s channel-level review as a separate test from Minecraft’s permission to share gameplay.
What a Minecraft VOD rerun channel needs to get right
There are two different questions: whether Minecraft permits you to share gameplay, and whether YouTube considers your channel eligible for monetization. Minecraft permits gameplay videos and streams, including monetized ones, when they are free to view and contain enough unique creator content; its guidelines give the creator’s own commentary as an example. YouTube separately reviews whether a channel’s content is original and meaningfully valuable, or instead repetitive, mass-produced, or reused without meaningful change. Its policy says the reused-content policy applies to the channel as a whole. It may consider the channel’s theme, newest and most-viewed videos, content responsible for the most watch time, metadata, and About section. Owning a VOD—or having permission to use it—does not by itself resolve that review. YouTube channel monetization policies
The official guidance does not expressly say that rebroadcasting your already-published VOD as a live event is categorically allowed or monetizable. So treat unchanged, repeated VODs as a monetization risk, not as a guaranteed ban or a shortcut to eligibility.

Choose a replay format that gives viewers a reason to watch

These are practical ways to reduce the risk of interchangeable broadcasts, not official safe harbours. Minecraft specifically gives creator audio commentary as an example of unique content, while YouTube asks for material variation and creative, educational, or other value. Check eligibility before scheduling
- Your channel must be verified, at least 16 years old under YouTube’s current live-streaming guidance, and free of live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days.
- Allow up to 24 hours for live streaming to become available the first time you enable it.
- Prepare a VOD you own or are authorized to use. Check game audio, music, overlays, and any other included material for rights covering both live transmission and the archived replay. Minecraft’s guidelines and YouTube’s livestream terms put responsibility for rights on the creator.

Schedule and run the VOD with YouTube Studio and an encoder
- Enable live streaming in advance. In YouTube Studio, follow YouTube’s live-streaming setup flow and confirm the channel meets the eligibility requirements. On first activation, wait for the feature to become available before the planned broadcast.
- Prepare the replay. Select a rights-cleared VOD and decide what makes this broadcast distinct—such as commentary, explanation of a build or challenge, chat interaction, or a genuinely different edit. Check audio throughout the file, not just at the beginning.
- Create a scheduled event. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and schedule the stream. Scheduling gives you an event to share and lets viewers set a reminder.
- Connect an encoder. Copy the event’s stream URL and stream key into an encoder that can send a prepared video file as its input. YouTube documents the encoder connection workflow; using a VOD file as the encoder input depends on the encoder you choose. Treat the stream key like a password: do not publish or share it.
- Preview before going live. Confirm the incoming video and audio in the Live Control Room. Check that commentary is audible if included, the intended video is playing, and there is no unexpected black screen or silence.
- Start the broadcast. Start the encoder and confirm the event is live in YouTube Studio. Follow the encoder’s own instructions for controlling file playback; do not assume YouTube’s event controls operate the local file.
- Review the archive and channel afterwards. Check the replay and any rights notices. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not rely on that automatic archive for a longer broadcast.

What monetization eligibility means for an Indian channel
YouTube’s reviewed Partner Program overview states the standard threshold as 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified public watch hours in the previous 12 months or 10 million qualified public Shorts views in the previous 90 days. Meeting a threshold does not guarantee acceptance: YouTube reviews the channel against its monetization policies. The overview does not establish the current country-by-country availability of every lower-threshold, shopping, or fan-funding feature in India, so check the channel’s Earn tab in Studio before planning around a particular feature.

Troubleshoot common rerun problems
- Live streaming is not available: Check verification, age, and the channel’s live-streaming restriction status. If this is the first activation, allow up to 24 hours.
- The event receives no video: Confirm the encoder is sending to the scheduled event’s stream URL and key, and that the correct file is selected as its input. Check the incoming preview before starting the event.
- There is no audio, or audio is missing from part of the VOD: Check the file and encoder audio input in the preview, including game sound, commentary, and music. Resolve rights issues before broadcasting; an archive can also receive rights notices.
- A stream stops or its archive is unavailable: Check whether the encoder stopped sending and inspect Studio for event status or notices. YouTube’s automatic archive guidance applies to streams under 12 hours.
- The channel is rejected for monetization despite owning the VOD: Ownership alone does not settle YouTube’s reused-content review. Assess the channel as a whole, especially repeated unchanged uploads, and whether each broadcast has substantial creator contribution and meaningful variation.
