The Infinix GT 20 Pro first went on sale in India on May 28, 2024, through Flipkart, a week after its May 21 launch. Launch prices were ₹24,999 for 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and ₹26,999 for 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. Its Cyber Mecha styling and rear LED effects set it apart, while a Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip and 144Hz AMOLED screen made it a gaming-focused mid-range phone. The launch gaming kit was a limited-time offer, not a guaranteed inclusion with units sold later.
When did the Infinix GT 20 Pro first go on sale in India?
The Indian launch took place on May 21, 2024; the first sale followed on May 28, 2024, on Flipkart. Those are separate milestones: the phone was announced before buyers could order it. Gadgets 360’s launch report and first-sale coverage reported the dates and sales channel.

Both models had 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR5X RAM; the main configuration difference was RAM capacity. The Indian specification page lists Mecha Blue, Mecha Orange and Mecha Silver as colour options. These are launch-era prices, not a promise of current availability or a 2026 street price. Cyber Mecha is the phone’s visual design identity, not a separate hardware edition. The rear panel has a mechanical, futuristic pattern, with a Mecha Loop LED interface around the camera area. Depending on software version and regional firmware, the lighting can provide visual effects for notifications and incoming calls, charging or battery feedback, and gaming-related events. Exact effects and app integrations can vary.

The LEDs are primarily a style and notification feature. They do not increase frame rates, cool the processor, improve camera output or strengthen network performance. Infinix describes the design and interface on its GT 20 Pro product page.

The Indian specifications list rear video recording up to 4K at 60fps. Infinix’s global product material also stated that the phone would receive two major Android upgrades and three years of security-patch updates; that is the manufacturer’s stated policy, not evidence of a particular delivery schedule. How does its gaming hardware work—and what does “up to 120fps” mean?
The Dimensity 8200 Ultimate, high-refresh-rate AMOLED panel, high touch-sampling rate and gaming software make the GT 20 Pro a gaming-focused mid-range phone. Infinix also included a Pixelworks X5 Turbo display chip for visual processing and frame-rate interpolation. Infinix says the phone can offer gaming experiences of up to 120fps in supported scenarios.
That figure is not a guarantee that every game renders at a native 120 frames per second. Results depend on the title, its supported frame-rate options, graphics settings, temperature, firmware and display-processing mode. Interpolated frames can make motion appear smoother, but they are not the same as frames rendered by the game engine. Pixelworks’ technology material describes its processing, while Infinix’s product page qualifies performance by game and circumstances.

For longer sessions, a 144Hz setting and sustained gaming can use more battery than lower refresh settings or lighter use. The 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging are useful provisions, but they do not guarantee a fixed runtime: the outcome depends on brightness, network conditions, refresh mode and workload.
What was in the launch GT Gaming Kit?
Launch coverage advertised a GT Gaming Kit with a stated value of ₹5,499, containing a Mecha case, cooling fan and finger sleeves. It was a limited-time launch offer, not a permanent promise that the accessories came in every retail box. Later buyers should check the exact listing and bundle before paying; buyer reports also described orders that did not include the kit. Launch coverage reported the offer, and Flipkart buyer reviews illustrate why bundle contents should be confirmed.

What did early reviews praise and criticise?
Early reviews generally highlighted gaming performance, the display and value at the launch price. Camera performance was a relative weakness: the 108MP main sensor and optical stabilisation do not make the phone a camera specialist, and the two 2MP rear cameras are auxiliary sensors rather than versatile alternatives. Battery life was considered adequate for ordinary use, but intensive gaming changes the equation. The phone is therefore more specialised than a camera-first or software-first choice. As of August 16, 2026, Infinix’s India store showed an 8GB/256GB listing at ₹24,999 but marked it “Sold Out.” Flipkart also showed a ₹24,999 listing, but stock and seller conditions varied. A page remaining online does not establish that a unit is in stock, that the displayed price is available to every buyer, or that the launch kit is included. Check the seller, colour, configuration, warranty provider, delivery availability and final checkout price. The Infinix India listing and Flipkart page may change over time.
