Short answer: The Infinix GT 20 Pro can make Genshin Impact look much smoother by using its Pixelworks X5 Turbo chip to generate intermediate frames. That is not the same as the game natively rendering 120 unique frames per second. The distinction matters: interpolation can improve visual smoothness, but it does not guarantee native-120fps responsiveness, perfect motion, or a stable result through a long, hot session.
The GT 20 Pro is an unusual gaming phone, not a magic shortcut around the limits of the game or its chipset. It makes the most sense for players who value smoother-looking single-player gameplay and can buy it well below faster native-performance alternatives.
What “120fps Genshin” means on the GT 20 Pro
The GT 20 Pro launched in 2024 with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultimate and a dedicated Pixelworks X5 Turbo visual processor. In supported games, Pixelworks uses motion estimation and frame interpolation—often described as MEMC—to create intermediate images between frames rendered by the game.

That gives you three different numbers to keep separate:
- Native game FPS: frames actually rendered by Genshin’s game engine.
- Display output: images shown per second after Pixelworks processing.
- Perceived smoothness: how fluid movement looks to you.
Pixelworks and Infinix advertise output of up to 120fps for supported content. Infinix itself notes that results vary by game and circumstances. In the available Gizmochina review, the reported near-120fps presentation came from lowering the original rendering workload and inserting generated frames. It should therefore be described as interpolated 120fps output, not native 120fps Genshin.
An in-game counter may show the game’s source frame rate rather than count the images generated by the display processor. Conversely, a display-side reading near 120 does not prove that Genshin rendered 120 distinct frames. Those measurements answer different questions.

Does it look smoother?
Interpolation has a straightforward benefit: when it works well, camera pans, gliding, and traversal can look less juddery than a conventional 60fps presentation. That can be appealing in a visually rich, mostly single-player game such as Genshin, where smooth motion may matter more than competitive reaction time.
But generated frames are estimates, not new game-engine decisions. Fast camera turns, particles, foliage, overlapping characters, and abrupt movement can expose ghosting, warped edges, duplicated details, or other motion artifacts. A smoother-looking image is not automatically a more accurate one. Nor should a reader assume that every game, scene, or software version produces equally clean results.
Interpolation also does not make controls feel like native 120fps. The game still samples input and renders its original frames at its own rate; generated images fill in visual motion between them. Touch-to-display latency is a separate measurement, and the available evidence does not establish that the GT 20 Pro delivers native-120fps input response in Genshin.

In practical terms, the Pixelworks feature is most attractive if you play for exploration and visual fluidity. If you prioritize precise timing in competitive play, native frame rate and input latency matter more than the number of images the panel can display.
Sustained play: the headline needs a time limit
The Gizmochina test reported near-120fps output in a 20-minute Genshin session, but also noted fluctuations after roughly 15 minutes at the highest graphics settings. That is a useful caution: an early-session demonstration is not the same as a stable hour-long result.
Infinix advertises “120 FPS 60 min” and a frame-rate variation figure of 3.5 on its product page. Treat those as manufacturer claims, not a universal guarantee. Game version, graphics preset, ambient temperature, firmware, brightness, network conditions, case use, charging, and cooling can all affect sustained behavior.
There is a plausible efficiency advantage: if the game renders fewer original frames and the X5 Turbo generates the in-between frames, the main chipset may do less rendering work. Pixelworks claims up to 29% lower power consumption for its visual-processing configuration. That figure is not an independently verified battery result for every GT 20 Pro session. Without controlled battery and temperature measurements, it would be misleading to promise a particular runtime, surface temperature, or amount of throttling.
For a fair evaluation, record the exact phone variant and firmware, Genshin version and settings, ambient temperature, brightness, network, battery level, case and charging status. Compare interpolation off and on over the same route or combat sequence, then check frame pacing, battery drain, temperature, artifacts, and input feel at 15, 30, and 60 minutes. Do not treat a generated-frame counter as native game FPS.

Screen and gaming features
The GT 20 Pro has a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel rated up to 144Hz, alongside a 5,000mAh battery and 45W charging. A 144Hz panel can benefit system animations and games that actually support high refresh rates, but it does not mean Genshin supplies 144fps—or even native 120fps. Panel refresh, processed output, and game-rendered FPS are separate limits.

Infinix also advertises 360Hz touch sampling and a 1,500Hz instant touch-sampling figure for certain contexts. These specifications should not be read as sustained gameplay rates or end-to-end touch response. The practical experience depends on the game, mode, firmware, and the complete input-to-display pipeline.
The product page lists gaming features including Esports Mode, bypass charging, Hyper Charge Mode, and frame interpolation. Exact controls and availability may vary with the regional model and XOS build; check the installed software rather than assuming every advertised feature has the same name or works with every title. Pixelworks names games including Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail, PUBG Mobile, Call of Duty: Mobile, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, but support and results remain title- and software-dependent.
How strong is it without frame generation?
The GT 20 Pro still has to render the original frames. Pixelworks can make motion look smoother, but it cannot repair a poor source frame, eliminate major frame-time spikes, or substitute for a faster GPU in every demanding game. Buyers should judge it both with interpolation enabled and as a conventional gaming phone with the feature disabled.

That is a particular test result, not a guarantee for every unit, route, or software build; it does illustrate why “120fps output” and native game performance should not be conflated.
The Dimensity 8200 Ultimate, up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage make the phone a credible gaming-focused midranger. But if you want the highest native performance, prioritize a sustained test of the games you actually play. Interpolation is an additional display-processing tool, not a replacement for chipset headroom.

On paper, the GT 20 Pro combines its AMOLED display and gaming processor with a 108MP OIS main camera, 32MP selfie camera, JBL-branded dual speakers, and XOS 14. Those specifications alone do not establish camera quality, call reliability, software polish, water resistance, or update delivery; verify reviews and the exact regional SKU for those priorities.

Infinix states a policy of two major Android upgrades and three years of security patches. Because this is a 2024 model, prospective buyers should check the current update status, remaining support period, warranty, stock condition, network bands, NFC, charger bundle, and local service availability. RAM, storage, accessories, and other details can differ between markets.

GT 20 Pro vs POCO alternatives
The relevant choice is not simply which phone puts the larger FPS number on its box. It is whether you want generated smoothness or more native chipset performance, and what each costs locally today.

These are not timeless price rankings. A price-comparison listing crawled about a month before the dossier’s research date showed India prices of ₹26,990 for the GT 20 Pro 12GB/256GB and ₹24,999 for the POCO X6 Pro. Those are dated, India-specific listing signals—not current universal prices or official quotes. Since the GT 20 Pro is a 2024 model, compare the actual local price, warranty, and stock condition. If it approaches the POCO F6 in your market, the Infinix’s specialized interpolation advantage may not outweigh the F6’s native-performance focus.
Verdict: buy it for smoothness, not native 120fps
The Infinix GT 20 Pro’s Pixelworks feature is more than a marketing overlay: it can generate intermediate frames and make supported games look smoother. But “Genshin at 120fps” describes processed display output, not 120 unique frames rendered by the game. The distinction is especially important for responsiveness, artifacts, and sustained performance.
Choose the GT 20 Pro if you want its particular smoothness-per-dollar proposition, play mostly noncompetitive games, and find it at a compelling local price. Choose a faster native-performance phone if frame delivery, input feel, demanding future games, or long-term chipset headroom matter more. The GT 20 Pro is interesting precisely because it takes a different route to smoother motion—not because it makes the limits of native performance disappear.
