The standard Infinix GT 30 (also sold as GT 30 5G+) is a gaming-focused midrange phone, not the GT 30 Pro. Its capacitive shoulder triggers, 144Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7400 chip and 5,500mAh battery make it unusually appealing for mobile gaming—provided the price and regional support work for you. Its cameras and software-update outlook are less compelling, and the triggers are useful controls, not a shortcut to better play.
What the Infinix GT 30 is—and who should consider it
This review covers the standard GT 30, not the higher-positioned GT 30 Pro. Infinix’s India listing calls it the GT 30 5G+ and offers 8GB RAM with either 128GB or 256GB storage. The listed RAM is LPDDR5X and storage is UFS 2.2; up to 8GB of “extended RAM” is storage-backed and is not equivalent to another 8GB of physical memory. The product page identifies regional 5G bands, so do not assume a variant will work on every carrier in another country. Infinix India’s specifications and configurations are the appropriate reference for that market.
The GT 30 makes the most sense for players who will use its shoulder triggers and value a quick display, stereo speakers and a large battery. It is a weaker fit if camera quality, compact size, long-term software support or local warranty and carrier certainty matter more. Infinix’s global announcement described an approximate US$200 starting price but said prices and availability vary by market; that figure is not evidence of U.S. retail availability. Infinix’s global launch announcement provides that qualification.
Are the GT Triggers useful in real games?
Yes, if you play games that benefit from extra inputs and like holding a phone with shoulder controls. The GT Triggers are capacitive controls rather than mechanical buttons. Infinix says they are customizable and have millisecond-level responsiveness; that responsiveness figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement. The controls can be mapped to on-screen actions, letting a player move some inputs away from the touchscreen area occupied by their thumbs.

Where they can help
- FPS games: Map firing and aiming, or actions such as reloading, jumping, crouching or switching weapons, to shoulder positions that feel natural to you.
- MOBA games: Use them for an ability or another frequent action if the game’s controls and mapping support it.
- Other touch games: They may help when a title’s layout supports useful on-screen mappings, but their value is less automatic than in shooters.
They do not make a player more accurate by themselves. Comfort depends on hand size and grip, and mapping quality and game compatibility matter. The available specifications and launch material establish the capacitive design and intended use, but do not establish how reliably mappings persist across restarts, how they behave with sweaty hands, whether a particular title’s anti-cheat restrictions affect them, or how often accidental presses occur. Treat those as things to check with the games you actually play rather than assuming universal support.
Gaming performance: fast enough for competitive play, not a 144-FPS promise
The Dimensity 7400 is a 4nm chip with four Cortex-A78 CPU cores up to 2.6GHz, four Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0GHz and a Mali-G615 MC2 GPU, according to Infinix’s specifications. It gives the GT 30 a credible midrange gaming foundation, but the 144Hz display does not mean every title will render at 144 frames per second. A game’s support, settings, software optimization, temperature and network conditions all affect the experience.
MySmartPrice reports an AnTuTu score of 977,932, Geekbench 6 results of 1,075 single-core and 3,201 multi-core, a CPU Throttling Test score of 81, a 3DMark Wild Life Extreme score of 1,054 and 99.40% stability in that 3DMark test. In its BGMI Smooth-graphics test, it recorded 88.9 FPS. MySmartPrice says it ran benchmarks three times and averaged them at a room temperature of 25°C; its gaming tests used 30-minute sessions. These results support strong performance in the tested workloads, not a claim that all games run at maximum settings or at the panel’s full refresh rate. Cooling claims versus measured evidence
Infinix describes a 3D vapor chamber, superconducting graphite, thermal-conductivity gel and a Game Thermal Control Engine. Those descriptions explain the company’s cooling design and software features; they do not establish a particular surface temperature or advantage over another phone. The published evidence cited above includes benchmark stability and a 30-minute game test, but not a full set of surface-temperature readings at 15, 30 and 60 minutes or charging-while-gaming results. The standard GT 30’s official specification page lists 45W wired charging and 10W reverse charging, but does not list bypass charging. Do not assume that Pro-model features carry over.
Display: one of the phone’s strongest everyday advantages
The India specification lists a 6.78-inch LTPS AMOLED panel at 1224 × 2720 resolution, up to 144Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling, with an advertised 2160Hz “instant touch sampling” figure. That instant-sampling number should not be read as a constant operating rate: it is a manufacturer specification, and the cited materials do not establish its operating conditions. Infinix also claims 100% DCI-P3 gamut and Gorilla Glass 7i. The official specification page lists 700-nit typical brightness, 1,600-nit HBM brightness and a 4,500-nit peak figure.
That 4,500-nit peak is not the same as sustained full-screen brightness. MySmartPrice measured a maximum of 945 nits under its own test conditions. That is useful context for outdoor visibility, but it is not a guarantee of identical results in every mode or lighting condition. The screen’s high refresh rate can make scrolling and supported games look fluid; actual game frame rates still depend on the title and its settings. The available evidence does not establish PWM behavior or whether users sensitive to flicker will find it comfortable.

Battery and charging: ample capacity, with optimization caveats
The GT 30 has a 5,500mAh typical-capacity battery, up to 45W wired charging and up to 10W reverse charging on the official India specification. Charging output may vary with regional conditions, and the available figures do not establish a 0–50% or 0–100% charging time or whether a charger is included in every regional box. Confirm the contents of the local package before buying.

In MySmartPrice’s PCMark battery test at 50% brightness, the phone lasted 13 hours and 8 minutes. The publication rated battery life 7.5/10 and said optimization could be better for heavy users. This is a controlled test result, not a forecast for a day of gaming, 5G use, maximum brightness or 144Hz operation. Your screen brightness, refresh-rate setting, signal strength and game workload will all change endurance. MySmartPrice’s battery results give the test context.
Cameras: usable, but not the reason to buy it
The tested configuration has a 64MP main rear camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 13MP front camera. MySmartPrice rated the overall camera system 6.6/10: 7.0 for the main camera, 6.5 for the ultrawide, 7.0 for portrait mode, 6.5 for the front camera, 7.0 for rear video and 6.0 for front video. Those are the publication’s ratings, not a universal scoring standard. Its results support a practical verdict of adequate for ordinary daylight snapshots and social use, but behind the phone’s gaming and display strengths, especially if portraits or low-light results are a priority. XOS 15 and the update question
Infinix’s India listing specifies XOS 15 based on Android 15. Its global launch announcement promoted more than 25 AI features, including screen questions, summaries, AI Erase and translation, but availability can differ by market, language, software build and network conditions. The announcement is not proof that every advertised feature is available on every retail unit.
Notebookcheck reported a global promise of two major Android upgrades—Android 16 and Android 17—and three years of security updates through 2028. That is a reported policy, not a substitute for confirming the exact regional model’s official support terms at purchase. Notebookcheck’s report covers the stated promise. The cited sources do not establish how much promotional software, duplicate utilities or notification marketing a specific retail build includes, so inspect the local software experience if those are deal-breakers.
Design, protection and connectivity
The India listing gives dimensions of 163.7 × 75.8 × 7.99mm and a weight of 187g, with Cyber Blue, Pulse Green and Blade White finishes. It lists dual speakers, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, USB-C, dual nano-SIM support and IP64 protection. The distinctive gaming styling and lighting are primarily aesthetic; the listed specifications do not establish that rear lighting improves play. The size also makes it a large phone rather than a compact gaming option.

IP64 indicates dust protection and resistance to splashing, not protection against submersion. Infinix warns that wear, damage or disassembly can reduce protection and that submersion damage is not covered by warranty. Price, configurations and regional buying checks
Prices below are from Infinix India listings cited in the available information; they are not current universal prices, and the observed 128GB listing was marked sold out. A global announcement separately gave an approximate US$200 starting price and said pricing and availability vary by market.

Before ordering, check the exact RAM and storage, supported 5G bands for your carrier, charger inclusion, warranty provider, return policy and local software build. India’s listed bands include n1, n3, n5, n8, n28B, n38, n40, n41, n77 and n78, but that does not establish compatibility with a U.S. carrier or any other network. A phone available through an import listing may not carry the local service coverage or returns of a regionally sold device.
GT 30 versus GT 30 Pro
The GT 30 Pro is a separate, higher-positioned model with different performance and camera hardware. The available evidence does not provide a verified, like-for-like regional price comparison or enough shared specifications to quantify the Pro’s premium here. Do not attribute Pro features to the standard GT 30. Choose the standard model if the lower price is the priority and its chip and cameras meet your needs; consider the Pro only after checking its exact regional specification and price against the features you would actually use.
Who should buy it—and who should look elsewhere?
Buy the GT 30 if
- You play competitive games and expect to use shoulder controls.
- You value a high-refresh AMOLED display, stereo speakers and battery capacity more than camera leadership.
- Your local price sits near its intended midrange positioning and the exact variant has suitable carrier support and warranty.
Skip it if
- Camera quality, particularly low-light photography or portraits, is your main priority.
- You want a compact phone, flagship camera stabilization, wireless charging or a clearly stronger update commitment.
- You will not use the triggers and can obtain a faster or better-supported conventional phone for a similar local price.
- You need confirmed U.S. carrier support or local service coverage: the cited material does not establish official U.S. availability.
MySmartPrice gave the GT 30 an 8.2/10 overall score in its ₹19,000–₹24,000 segment, with stronger performance and display ratings than camera and battery-optimization ratings. That is one publication’s assessment for its stated segment, not a universal score. The GT 30 is best understood as a distinctive gaming package rather than simply a benchmark bargain: its value depends on whether the controls, screen and local buying conditions matter more to you than camera quality or broader support.
