Intel released its Game On graphics driver update on September 26, 2024, adding launch support for EA Sports FC 25 (FC25), Delta Force and Throne and Liberty. The release included two branches: 32.0.101.6079 Non-WHQL and 32.0.101.5736 WHQL.
Intel’s release notes describe compatibility and game-support optimizations, but do not promise a specific FPS increase. This is a historical 2024 driver announcement—not the latest Intel driver as of 2026.

What Intel’s Game On support means
“Game On” support generally indicates driver-level launch support or compatibility work for a newly released game. It can help with rendering compatibility, startup behavior, frame pacing or performance in particular configurations.

It does not automatically mean that every player will receive a measurable or substantial FPS increase. Intel did not publish a percentage performance gain for FC25, Delta Force or Throne and Liberty in these release notes. Actual results depend on the Arc GPU or Core Ultra processor, CPU and memory configuration, resolution, graphics preset, DirectX version, shader state, game patches and features such as upscaling or frame generation.
For that reason, the accurate description is “Game On support” or “launch optimizations,” not a guaranteed performance boost.
Supported Intel hardware
The historical release covers Intel Arc A-series discrete graphics cards and Intel Core Ultra processors with built-in Intel Arc graphics. It should not be read as support for every Intel integrated GPU or every Intel graphics product.

Intel’s current driver documentation has since expanded its listed product families to include Arc B-series, Arc A-series and selected Core Ultra processors with Arc graphics. Check the current Intel Arc graphics driver page before downloading, particularly if you are using older integrated graphics.
Known issues in the release notes
The same release notes list problems affecting other software:
- Diablo IV could intermittently crash under DirectX 12 when ray-tracing settings were toggled.
- Doom Eternal could show intermittent flickering or corruption under Vulkan.
- Blender could crash during certain benchmark scenes.
- Topaz Video AI could encounter export errors after particular enhancement models were used.
These are issues reported in Intel’s documentation for the package, not independent confirmation that every system will experience them. They illustrate why a gaming driver can add support for new releases while still retaining or introducing problems elsewhere.

Should you install it?
Installing the 2024 package made the most sense for an eligible Arc or Core Ultra system running one of the three supported games around their launch period, especially if the existing driver predated September 26, 2024 or the game had a graphics or startup problem.

It was less compelling for a stable system that did not use those games. Work-critical PCs and laptops affected by the known issues should prioritize stability and an appropriate OEM package.
WHQL versus Non-WHQL
Intel offered both a WHQL-certified package and a newer Non-WHQL package. A higher version number is not automatically better for every computer. WHQL certification may matter to users who prioritize validation and stability, while the Non-WHQL branch may contain newer support or fixes.

Choose based on the game, hardware and stability requirements rather than assuming that the newest-looking number is universally preferable.
Laptop owners should check the manufacturer first
Intel’s generic graphics driver can overwrite an OEM-customized driver. Laptop manufacturers may tailor drivers for display switching, battery behavior, thermal limits, brightness control, sleep and resume, hybrid graphics and vendor utilities.

Before installing Intel’s generic package on a laptop, check the computer manufacturer’s support page. Corporate systems and machines that depend on manufacturer-specific support should generally follow the OEM driver path. Intel’s driver page documents this generic-driver warning.

How to install the driver
- Record the current graphics-driver version in Device Manager or Intel Graphics Software.
- Create a restore point or otherwise confirm that you have a recovery path.
- Download the appropriate package from Intel or your laptop manufacturer.
- Close games and GPU-monitoring utilities before running the installer.
- Use the installer’s clean-install option if it is available and appropriate. A clean installation is not mandatory for every update, but can help with failed installs, corruption or problems after changing branches.
- Restart Windows.
- Verify the installed version in Device Manager or Intel Graphics Software.
- Run the game and allow shader compilation to finish before judging stutter or performance.
You can select a package manually from Intel’s download pages, use Intel Driver & Support Assistant for hardware detection and update notifications, or use Intel Graphics Software where supported.
How to test whether the update helped
Compare the same resolution, graphics preset, upscaling mode, ray-tracing settings and frame-rate cap used before the update. Test after shader compilation, since the first launch after a driver change can stutter while shaders are rebuilt.
A lack of improvement does not necessarily mean the installation failed. The driver may provide compatibility support without changing the game’s underlying code, and later game patches can alter performance independently of the driver.

- Restart Windows and test the game once more.
- Check whether the problem affects only one title.
- Temporarily disable recently enabled features such as ray tracing or frame generation.
- Rebuild the game’s shaders if it provides that option.
- Roll back through Device Manager or reinstall the previous Intel driver.
- On a laptop, try the manufacturer’s driver instead of Intel’s generic package.
- Report reproducible problems with the GPU model, driver version, game version, Windows version and exact reproduction steps.
If Windows or a game incorrectly reports that an up-to-date driver is outdated, treat that as a version-detection problem rather than immediately installing another package. Intel provides guidance for this situation in its outdated-driver documentation.
2026 status: this is no longer Intel’s latest driver
The FC25, Delta Force and Throne and Liberty announcement belongs to September 2024. Intel’s driver catalog has moved on since then. The Intel driver page checked on August 18, 2026 listed 32.0.101.8974 WHQL for supported Arc B-series and A-series GPUs and Core Ultra processors with Arc graphics; the listed package size was 872.2 MB.
Because driver versions, Windows support and product compatibility change, use Intel’s current download page or the relevant OEM page rather than treating 32.0.101.6079 as a current recommendation.
