Steam Linkを使えば、Windows、Mac、またはLinuxのPCで動かしているSteamゲームを、iPhone、iPad、Apple TVへストリーミングできます。ゲームを実行するのはPCで、Apple端末には映像と音声が届き、コントローラーの入力はPCへ返されます。Steam Linkは無料ですが、ホストPCと安定したネットワークが必要です。
まずPCとApple端末を同じ家庭内ネットワークにつなぎ、SteamのRemote Playを有効にします。その後、Steam LinkアプリからPCを選び、画面に表示されたPINでペアリングすれば準備完了です。
Steam Linkでできること、できないこと
Steam Linkは、PCゲームを別の画面へ送るストリーミングアプリです。ゲーム自体をiPhoneやiPadへインストールするわけではなく、Apple TVがPCの代わりにゲームを実行するわけでもありません。ゲームの処理はホストPCが行うため、PCの性能や稼働状態がプレイ体験を左右します。Steamの説明はSteam Remote Play公式ページで確認できます。
ホストPCはWindows、macOS、またはLinuxでSteamを実行できる必要があります。プレイしたいゲームもそのPCにインストールしておきます。ストリーミング中にPCがスリープすると、接続できなくなったり切断されたりします。

必要なものと対応条件
- Steamを起動してログインできるWindows、Mac、またはLinux PC
- Steam Linkアプリを入れられるiPhone、iPad、またはApple TV
- 初回設定用の同じ家庭内ネットワーク
- ゲームに適したコントローラー。対応ゲームではタッチ操作も利用可能
App Storeの掲載情報では、Steam Linkは無料で、iPhoneはiOS 11以降、iPadはiPadOS 11以降、Apple TVはtvOS 11以降が最低条件です。これはアプリの最低互換性であり、最新の高解像度、HDR、120fpsなどの機能が古い端末でも使えることを意味しません。実際の機能はアプリ、ホストPC、端末、ディスプレイの対応状況によって異なります。最新情報はApp StoreのSteam Link掲載ページで確認してください。
1. PCでSteam Remote Playを有効にする
- ホストPCを起動し、Steamを開いてアカウントにログインします。
- Steamの設定を開き、「Remote Play」または「リモートプレイ」の項目を探します。クライアントの更新で表示名や配置が変わることがあります。
- 「Enable Remote Play（リモートプレイを有効にする）」をオンにします。
- ストリーミングしたいゲームがPCにインストールされていることを確認します。
- PCがプレイ中にスリープしないよう、必要なら電源設定を調整します。
ゲームの動作性能はホストPCに依存します。PCでゲームが快適に動かない場合、iPhoneやApple TVへ送っても性能不足は解消しません。
2. iPhoneまたはiPadで接続する
- App Storeを開き、「Steam Link」を検索します。開発元がValve Corporationであることを確かめてインストールします。
- PCでSteamを起動したまま、iPhoneまたはiPadでSteam Linkを開きます。
- アプリがネットワーク上のPCを検索したら、接続したいPCを選びます。
- Steam Linkに表示されたPINを、PC側のSteamの案内に従って入力します。
- 接続テストが終わったらSteam画面またはライブラリを開き、ゲームを選んで「プレイ」を押します。
Steam Linkは初回接続時にPCとのペアリングを行います。以後は通常、アプリからPCを選び、ゲームを起動すればプレイできます。アカウントやネットワークの変更などで再ペアリングを求められることがあります。

- Apple TVのホーム画面からApp Storeを開き、「Steam Link」を検索します。
- Valve CorporationのSteam Linkをインストールして起動します。
- ホストPCとApple TVが同じ家庭内ネットワークにあることを確認します。
- 表示されたPCを選び、Steam Linkが示すPINをPC側で入力します。
- 接続テストが終わったらライブラリからゲームを起動します。
テレビで遊ぶなら、Apple TVのリモコンだけでなくゲームコントローラーを用意するのが実用的です。Apple TV版のSteam Linkでもゲームを実行するPCは別途必要です。安定性を優先する場合は、PCとApple TVの両方をEthernetでルーターにつなぐ構成が有力です。Apple TV版の案内はApp StoreのApple TV向け掲載ページにあります。
コントローラーを接続する
Xbox Wireless Controller、PlayStation DualShock 4やDualSense、対応するMFiコントローラーなどが選択肢になります。Bluetooth接続できても、すべてのボタンや追加機能がSteam Linkや個々のゲームで使えるとは限りません。

iPhone・iPad
- コントローラーをペアリングモードにします。
- 端末の「設定」>「Bluetooth」を開きます。
- 検出されたコントローラー名をタップして接続します。
- Steam Linkを開き、ゲーム内で入力が反応するか確認します。
Apple TV
- コントローラーをペアリングモードにします。
- Apple TVで「設定」>「リモコンとデバイス」>「Bluetooth」を開きます。OSによっては「一般」を経由する表示の場合があります。
- 検出されたコントローラーを選んで接続し、Steam Linkで入力を確認します。
Appleのゲームコントローラー接続ガイドでは、接続手順や再ペアリング方法を案内しています。Apple TV HDおよびApple TV 4Kでは、Bluetoothオーディオアクセサリを使っていない場合、最大4台のBluetoothゲームコントローラーをサポートします。Bluetoothオーディオアクセサリ使用時は最大1台です。
コントローラーが認識されない場合は、別の端末につながったままになっていないか確認し、Apple端末のBluetooth設定から登録を解除して再接続します。コントローラーのファームウェア更新も試してください。Steam側の入力設定は、必要に応じてSteam Linkの入力ストリーミングサポート案内を参照します。

iPhoneやiPadでは、対応コントローラーの操作を「設定」>「一般」>「ゲームコントローラ」から調整できる場合があります。Apple TVでは、Bluetooth設定内で接続済みコントローラーを選んでカスタマイズできる場合があります。ゲームごとのSteam Input設定もあわせて確認してください。
遅延や映像の乱れを抑える
家庭内ストリーミングで重要なのは、契約しているインターネット回線の下り速度だけではありません。PCとApple端末の間のLAN品質、Wi-Fiの干渉、PCのゲーム処理と映像エンコード、Apple端末のデコード、テレビの映像処理が遅延やカクつきに影響します。
まずは次の構成を目指してください。

- iPhone・iPad：ホストPCをEthernetでルーターへ接続し、Apple端末は5GHz Wi-Fiを使う。
- Apple TV：可能ならホストPCとApple TVの両方をEthernetでルーターへ接続する。難しければ、PCを有線、Apple TVを安定した5GHz Wi-Fiにする。
ValveもPCの有線接続とApple端末の5GHz Wi-Fiを推奨しています。両方の機器を同じLANにつなぐ必要はありますが、PCがEthernet、iPhoneがWi-Fiでも問題ありません。「同じWi-Fi名」かどうかより、機器同士がLAN内で通信できることが重要です。ゲストネットワークや端末間通信を遮断する設定では、同じルーターでも検出されない場合があります。

- 映像がカクつく、または操作が遅れるなら、まずPCを有線接続にし、ルーターに近づきます。
- 4K、HDR、120fpsを使っていて不安定なら、1080p・60fpsへ下げて安定性を確認します。
- ネットワーク負荷が高い場合はビットレートを下げます。映像がぼやけるが滑らかなら、ネットワークが安定している範囲でビットレートを上げます。
- ほかの端末での大容量ダウンロードや動画視聴を一時停止します。
- Steam Linkのパフォーマンスグラフが利用できる場合は、ネットワーク、エンコード、デコードのどこで遅れが出ているか確認します。
Steam LinkのApp Store更新履歴には、細かなビットレート・解像度・フレームレート指定、HDR、120fps、音声バッファーなどに関する記載があります。ただし、選べる設定やその効果はアプリの版、Steamクライアント、ホストPC、端末、ゲームに左右されます。オプションが表示されない場合、その端末や構成で使えないことがあります。
Apple TVで操作の遅れを感じる場合は、ネットワーク設定に加えてテレビのゲームモードを有効にし、動き補間などの映像処理を減らすと改善することがあります。

PCが表示されない
- ホストPCが起動し、Steamにログインしていることを確認します。
- Steam設定のRemote Playが有効か確かめます。
- PCとApple端末が同じ家庭内LANにあり、Apple端末がゲストWi-Fiにいないことを確認します。
- VPNを一時的に切り、ルーターの端末間通信を遮断する設定がないか確認します。
- PC、ルーター、Apple端末を再起動します。
- ファイアウォールがSteamの通信を遮断していないか確認します。
- まだ見つからなければPCをEthernet接続にし、Steam Linkでペアリングをやり直します。
接続するが映像がカクつく
PCのEthernet接続、端末の5GHz Wi-Fi、ルーターとの距離を先に見直します。次に解像度やフレームレートを下げ、ビットレートを調整してください。2.4GHz Wi-Fiへの集中や中継器経由の不安定さ、同時に行われているダウンロードも原因になり得ます。

音声は出るのに映像が出ない
Steam Linkと端末のOSを更新して再起動し、外部ディスプレイやAirPlay接続をいったん外して試します。解像度を下げ、HDRをオフにし、アプリ設定にハードウェアデコードの項目があればオン・オフを切り替えて確認します。改善しない場合はホストPCのグラフィックスドライバーも確認してください。
コントローラーはつながるが入力されない、またはボタン配置が違う
Bluetooth上で接続済みか、コントローラーが別の機器に入力を送っていないかを確認します。Steam Linkの入力設定とSteam Input、ゲーム個別のコントローラー設定を見直し、必要ならボタンテストや再ペアリングを行います。XboxとPlayStationではボタン表記や配置が異なるため、ゲーム側の表示とも照合してください。
外出先から使えるか
Steam Remote Playは外出先での利用も案内していますが、初回設定と切り分けは同じ家庭内ネットワークで行うのが確実です。外出先から接続できるかは、ホストPCが稼働していることに加え、自宅ルーター、NAT、ファイアウォール、接続先ネットワークの制限、帯域、遅延に左右されます。ホテルや職場のWi-Fi、モバイル回線では接続できない場合や遅延が大きい場合があり、データ通信量にも注意が必要です。「どこからでも必ず接続できる」とは限りません。
端末の選び方
- iPhone：短時間のプレイや持ち運び向き。Backbone Oneなどの一体型コントローラーを使うなら、端子やケース、機種との互換性を購入前に確認します。
- iPad：画面の大きさを活かしたい場合や、ストラテジー、カード、シミュレーションゲームに向きます。タッチ操作の快適さはゲームごとに異なります。
- Apple TV：リビングのテレビで遊ぶ用途向き。PCは別途必要で、Bluetoothコントローラーと安定したネットワークを用意します。
タッチ操作は対応ゲームなら使えますが、FPS、アクション、レースゲームでは物理コントローラーの方が扱いやすいことが多いでしょう。購入前に、まず手元のコントローラーとネットワークで試し、問題の原因を確認してください。
